The previous vicar at my church was a German who when moving out of the vicarage found some of his old Marklin 3 rail equipment that he had entertained his children with many years ago. The two photos show all of the stock and there is also some track and a transformer/controller. I have not tested any of it but a small donation to church funds will make the items yours. I live in South London and I am willing to meet the purchaser at any Underground or National Rail station within the London travelcard area as my +60 oyster will mean I don't have to pay for travel.
I have asked Andy York and he agreed I could put this message in this area of RMweb.
If you are interested please pm me.
Sorry, the original post lost the two photos somehow. Probably operator error.

Not that those are stats to be proud of, but how did they do on PPM?
55% within 59 seconds of advertised actually doesn't strike me as *that* bad on it's own, it's more how bad the other 45% performed. And we know things weren't great...
I would agree that the normal within 5 minutes of right time figure would be much fairer and easier to compare to other TOCs.

Deep joy, not looking forward to journeys to stowmarket on them let alone going pass to London
But they are beautiful, new trains with more space to make them really comfortable which the DfT claim is what we all want!
Shame they forgot to make the seats bearable.

OK, enough is enough.....I have no idea what I've done to deserve this, but this young lady advertising clothing is extremely distracting.
What do I need to do to stop this ad appearing?
If you can't stop it, what can you do to make it part of my desktop?
It took me 87 screen refreshes to find it again.......
The 50% off offer suddenly looks rather interesting!!!!

But from memory it is in the station forecourt, i.e. within the curtilage of the station lease.
Yes, you are probably right about it being station property. I had not thought about that at the time. A bit like the small Tesco stores not doing the offer. I just wish this sort of offer of available at all the branches of the named stores, it would make it so much easier for everyone.

I vsited WH Smiths outside Wimbledon Station on Wimbledon Broadway this evening and was told that they were not doing the offer as they were a station branch and not on the High Street in spite of the fact that the branch is not in the station.

Yes that was, and if you look to the right of the class 60 in C19474, the viaduct that the branch took over the Tyne is just visible. Always thought Haltwhistle was a good spot, if a little quiet trainwise.
I used to use the hotel 'The Centre of Britain' when working at the plastics factory at Plenmeller, whose car park was bordered by the lifted Alston line (footpath) just the other side of the Haltwhistle bypass. Lambley further up the line had a rather nice viaduct too IIRC. And by this time the signal box was painted to match the footbridge.
That was back when EWS were running jumbo coal trains (2x66 + 42xHTA) which once left Carlisle had to run non-stop the Newcastle due to there being no loops long enough to pull over in.
Thanks and regards,
Dave
The narrow gauge line that starts at Alston want to eventually get their trains to Haltwhistle so the viaduct could see trains once more. I just hope I am able to see it happen.

The disused Alston branch platform is the left hand side of the platform in C19473 (the third photo down - the line to Alston went round the back of the signal box, heading to the left of the photo before turning to the south and crossing the River Tyne east of Haltwhistle.
I think the "platform" in the goods yard photo is a loading dock (disused obviously).
Somewhere I have some photos of Haltwhistle station when the gods yard was in use (not mine so I can't post them here), I'll try to find them and will then be able to say what the structure was for.
David
I was refering to the platform behind the signal box in C19473. I would agree that the thing behind the Seacow is a loading platform and not a passenger platform.

Agree with the above! The photo of Haltwhistle goods yard oozes inspiration. Looks like a disused platform at the back and a concrete store. The wall and gate a the back as well, great stuff!
The disused platform would be the one for the Alston branch.

But let's be honest here.
There is one spectacular post that fulfils the first two.
Quite possibly the most entertaining "nothing in it for me" post in the
many years I've been readingwhole history of RMW.Unsurprisingly the writer of the post you refer to has quite rightly been binned (or something similar!).

So by the time I will probably need to use both the main line and branch sets in late August there is a possibility that they might actually be operational with the Stadlers and that not only will no trains be cancelled but any I use will be running punctually. Thanks for the link as I have found it incredibly positive and It's nice to be reassured by GA's management.

My wife asked me to buy some wool for a crochet project she is doing. Since then this and every other site I visit is full of adverts for wool!

That was a problem for me. There was nothing on that list I wouldn't prefer to a King or a Castle but apparently some people like those sort of things...
Careful, the GWR police will be round later with comments like that!
