  2. Thanks for posting Neil. Great little layout and as most people have said , very inspirational . Any thoughts on a Morfa Mk2 type of thing ? (he asks hopefully) All the best , Kev
  3. Just to prove a Deltic did come through Fairbourne pre-ERTMS! Cheers wombato . I seem to remember seeing a picture of the deltic some time ago . As ever , I've looked at so many photos of the area I can't remember where I saw it :| Your a great source of info as normal , again thanks very much .
  4. Thanks for the link Chris . I think I had that book a while ago , a couple of house moves later and heaven knows where it is! At the moment I get a lot of inspiration from the excellent plum loco website pictures. Also there is a really good Barmouth flicker page .I've been thinking of running to a kind of rota . It will make it easier switching the points each end I get what you mean about watching sprinters, hence the new interest in a bit of steam .
  5. Talking of 97's I've got a old Hornby 37 crying out for a coat of yellow . Blue parcels 128 with a couple of ballest wagons is definitely on the to do list as well. Cheers Jim
  6. Evening all . Thanks for all your comments. I'm kind of stuck between the "my layout, my rules" way I've always thought , or running locos that are strictly ment to be on the stretch of line (regardless of era) . This however doesn't mean I'm going to run a hst or anything like that ! I probably need to do a bit more research into what actually did / does run up the coast . At the moment the layout stock is : class 25 class 37 , 108 dmu ,Derby lightweight, 150 sprinter and a class 158 . Pick the bones out of that happy modelling folkes:)
  7. Got mine this week. Had a couple of hours running and so far im very impressed. Although I will say , my layout will not stretch the Ace to it's full capacity , im really enjoying using it.
  8. Enjoyed an evening of trouble free running tonight Double headed class 25 , must be a rail tour Retuning towards Morfa dusted this off and gave it a run out on a mixed goods . Not my usual cup of tea but I think it looks quite nice . Would a 'Jinty' have run over the bridge in its day ? Liked it so much I might get some more , for steam specials . Thanks for checking in , thanks for any comments and advice is always most welcome. Kev
  9. finally !! The new controller in its panel location. Had about a hour of running so far and I must say im very impressed. Anyone looking for a new dcc controller at a reasonable price , this has to be up there. Thanks as always for looking in , Kev

  12. Yes Jim , just like that......can't believe I've missed this .tut tut. Thanks for the link.
  13. Great photos as ever Jim . The ones of Sutton Bridge are interesting. That would make a brilliant smallish depot layout. Its just down the road from me .
  14. Afternoon everbody . Ive been doing a bit of wiring today happy with how tidy this has turned out. Its my first attempt at proper layout wiring, and it all seems to work as it should , bonus! Also I'd like to welcome along Hector my dog to the forum. Hes not usually in the pics as he can't manage the loft ladder......
  15. Nice work Andy . Really loving the latest photos . It's a real inspiration. Keep up the excellent work

  19. This weekend I've had a go at a control panel for the layout. despite only having one point motor and no switches as yet ,I'm quite pleased with stage 1. The space in the middle will be cut out for the new controller....... still saving . Cheers , Kev
  20. Andy . Another cracking layout . I know it's been said before but I really don't know how you do it . Keep up the excellent inspiring work . All the best , Kev
  21. Just to clear up the toilet paper saga a very easy way of getting a wave effect. Thanks for the link .
  22. Perhaps one of the owners on here could do a quick video ? I'm really interested in this controller as it seems really good value . For anyone who's interested , I've sent a few emails to the website. They have all been answered promptly with a friendly informative response . I've just got to save up for one !
  23. Thanks Marcus . Glad people are enjoying it as much as me . We used to holiday on the Cambrian coast as children and I guess that's where the inspiration for the layout and era has come from . I'm surprised that more people are not modelling the very scenic Cambrian coast line , but then again I'm very biast . There is still a massive amount of work to do on the layout , I received a seep point motor in the post earlier (just one to have a play with) so I'm thinking about a small control panel for the fiddle yards . I'm now starting to stockpile toilet roll for the water effect (see earlier comment/link) Thanks again for all the comments , keep them coming as its really helping me along . All the best , Kev
  24. What a great idea . I will definitely be having a go at this . Thanks for the link wombato .
