  1. What a lovely message from the TMC team, I`ve been using Hatton's for over 15 years, spend A$1000's with them over that time and always found them very easy to deal with - I even was able to visit the store in 2017. So I`m very sad to hear this news. So thank you to the Hatton's team for your service to me, it been a pleasure especially given the distance between Australia & the UK.
  2. I`m not sure if this is the correct 'discussion' to raise this question but lets see. I have 25 Hornby Pullman cars, both 8 & 12 wheelers along with the Bournemouth Belle Observation car. On 3 of these which I purchased 2nd hand I`ve noticed that some of the hand rails are damaged or missing. So is it possible to obtain replacement hand rails from any where? However I must admit that these models are some of the best that Hornby have produce in my mind - especially the 12 wheels.
  3. Well I`ve just pre ordered #3000 this morning. I have a LMS BG from the 2nd batch and it can be a right 'pain in the bum' somedays - the pickups seem to have a mind of their own somedays. However it is running well at this time and it is impressive when it does. So I hope the Heljan team have taken on board the issues/lessons from the earlier Garrets and that this U1 is a high quality product and a smooth runner from day 1 - looking forward to it with fingers crossed 🙂
  4. I was going to add this some time ago but I`m really impressed with the working front lamps on this loco - they really do add to it. Now I also bought 3 of the new P2s and the new tender coupling is to me a good step forward as well. Now I just wish that the working lamps from 6202 were built into 2002, 2005 & 2007 along with the new tender coupling back the other way. So maybe in the future new releases will have both 'features'?
  5. Thanks all, yes, I did used the extra name plates for my Lord President and looking at PoW pictures on the Hornby siter 'he/she' also appears to be only have 'printed' name plates.
  6. I received my Earl Marischal yesterday and I`m very happy with the loco. All the bits were in the accessory pack. Now looking at the name plates I`m not inclined to apply the 'brass' ones as the ones on the loco look fine - they appear to be separate plates rather then just 'painted' on. Any thoughts?
  7. So had a closer looked today and yes it appears ok. Also too, running on the layout there is really not a lot of movement.
  8. Hi - yes - I`ll have a look again today
  9. Also too, I`ve applied the extra name plates and have no issues with them.
  10. Hello all, so I`ve run my example on the rolling road and there was really not much movement at all on the 3rd driving axle. I also put it in my cradle upside down and ran it and again not a lot to report - I did take a short video but it saved as an MP4 file so I can`t upload it - yet. Also I ran my loco light around both the 2nd & 3rd radius curves and on both left hand circuits there were no issues at all but again a little hesitation on the right hand 3rd radius and a bit 'more' on the right hand 2rd radius curves. Over time I think it will ease and I`m not overly concerned. So hope that is useful🙂
  11. Hi TomScrut, I`ve not noticed that on my example but I`ll go and put in on the rolling road and check it. However what I have noticed is that it does 'hesitate' on 3rd radius curves. My layout is long but narrow, 21 foot long with 2 continues loops using 2nd & 3rd radius curves at either end. My example will hesitate about 3/4 of the way around on the outside - 3rd radius - curve. It doesn`t stop but there is enough hesitation to notice. Now I have run the loco in and applied a very small amount of oil to the recommended point on the loco. So this is with 6 Hornby Gresley's behind the tender. I have also ran it 'light engine' on the inside 2rd radius loop curves and I do not recall a problem but that was in a left hand turn, the 3rd radius is a right hand turn. So over the next few days I`ll check that 3rd axle and run the engine 'light' around both the 2nd & 3rd radius curves in both directions and see what the story is. Has anyone else experienced this?
  12. Hi team, I`ve been reading Andrew Hardy's P2 book over the last few weeks and the team behind PoW have done a significant amount of work redesigning/improving the P2. Things like re designing the Pony truck, updating axles to meet BR BAS 504 principles & roller bearings all round. They have also computer modeled their CAD design with VAMPIRE s/w to ensure that issues with possible derailments have been address. They also expect to have over 70% of parts interchangeability with Tornado, things like the boiler, roller bearings, injectors, Cartizzi assembly, braking system, electrics & even the tenders - note that they plan to have 3 identical boilers at the end of the day. So all in all 2007 should be a far better P2 - looking forward to seeing it on the mail line in the next few years.
  13. So I`m very happy to have the original 2002 without the additional deflectors - I also have 2002, 2003 &2007 on pre order - looking forward to all of them!
