Great news....although I strongly suspected it was on the cards, due to the built in design options of the 24 chassis and circuit board.

As built Signal Yellow would have been used/ although other shades of Yellow may well have been used in later years.

When are these new Class 20's due to be released ? TIA

Hi Ian If your completely replacing the Bach main circuit board with a Zimo board, therefore using DCC I'd leave the nose end boards as is unless you plan adding headlights if they are missing. I'm not familar with that Zimo board but check if it has any on board resistors for the decoder outputs. If not in-line resistors can be fitted to each output wire Yellow/White etc etc all Blue wires being connected together. Try 1K resistors to start with and check if your happy with the light brightness. Ex factory lights are usually far too bright. HTH Ken

Here you go, the body/buffers are only temp on the chassis, any other questions let me know Personally, I'd wait for an Accurascale RSH Centre box 37, they will come eventually, and it would save you a pile of work, yet still be left with a compromised model. Merry Xmas Ken

Hi Rob At the time, the only centre headcode Bach RSH 37's were BG Green with buffer cowls. I decided to use one of these to model L/L 37 183. It's been fully re-painted into L/L livery. One of the issues on these early models was the nose end detail was in the wrong place, and due to the buffer cowls being too deep the buffers were also too low. I cut the buffers/and bottom edge of the cowls off, together with slots (as per 183) for the new buffers fit at the correct height. The gaps in the (early} chassis BB were replaced with plasticard for the new buffers to mount on. The headcode box (too high up) and tail lights are also in wrong place on these early models, but that's a compromise one either accepts or not, far too much work to sort that out. I made up custom lighting boards, with new translucent domino's on the PC to replace the original Bach train reporting digits, the headcode box fittings were drilled out to to allow light through them. I cut a "lot" of metal out of the chassis to get an EM2 speaker fitted along with space for a decoder mounting using an ESU51968 adaptor board for the excellent Bif WD 37/0 sound file. It will also have the classic working ScR car type headlights. The flying leads on the chassis are for the new lighting and cab lights. I've still to complete it but it's nearly there. Another early example I re-worked was L/L 37 114 Dunrobin. Again it started life as a BR Green buffer cowl fitted 37. The cowls were cut off, BB's reinstated, the boiler roof panel had the riveted strips removed and "bolt heads" were fitted to represent the flush panel, prior to be re-painted into L/L livery. Hi Rob L/L 37 183 - ah yes - been working on one of these for some time, just don't time to get it finished. It's based on an early Green Bach RSH 37, fully re-painted, but as it has no lighting, made custom lighting boards for it, along with a modded EM2 fitted chassis.......hopefully will leave the works early in the New Year !

Yep 264 is on the radar along with it's sister's in L/L.....watch this space....

The frost grilles are indeed very nice, Brian's EE versions are also very similar, having fitted a number of them. The model looks very promising indeed, for me one thing that does jump out is the rather heavy (is it plastic ?) roof grille mesh retaining ring. Pretty sure on the first reveal of these models the ring was much finer and metal ? Roll on a painted sample.......

Rail White is a different shade to Silver White. Apparently Railmatch RM240 has been discontinued, I also tried a few places, perhaps somewhere will have some old stock ?

All the above photos show 37026 with square HI headlights fitted, which later replaced the original round ScR Car type headlights. Can't find any photos of it with Black head code boxes (at either end) with Round type headlights fitted (in R/F Dist livery) The forthcoming Accurascale model would appear to be correct in this respect.

Another commission re-work completed, one of Eastfield's early versions of L/L livery - 37112, was originally BR Blue 37 049. And yes I'm aware it does not have the correct boiler roof panel for 112.

Yep that's the ones, but two at each end, they need a fairly firm downwards push, the floor then comes out to reveal the battery holder.

Just checked all orders so far sent and received via Royal Mail, no mention of DPD on my account. DPD and all other couriers regularly charge extortionate rates to deliver to my post code.!! but good old Royal Mail manages no problem !

I also got an e-mail from DPD yesterday stating they tried to deliver a parcel but no-one was in..? em wrong I was in all day ! When I tried to check the tracking No...it stated not found/out of date, very odd perhaps a scam ? The e-mail header mentions Bio-Trust whoever that is ? Accurascale orders have all so far come via Royal Mail ....are they now using DPD also ?...as I'm not expecting anything else at the moment.

There's also some footage and maintenance of the PTA wagons on Rail Films Depot No.3 ScotRail along with MGR coal working footage.

A small flat headed jeweller's type screwdriver does the job perfectly, no need to push down, just a small flick sideways movement is all that's required to switch on/off....

It's a fairly straight forward job, sure you'll manage fine ..apart from fixing the small nose circuit/wiring boards on the new frame ends, they are factory melted on, but some CA or epoxy glue will suffice. Any issues ..be happy to help/advise.....

Very nice, the old Lima 47's scrub up nicely, the re-paint also helps. On ones I've done previously, painting the front cab window ledges all Black prior to fitting laser glaze also makes a worthwhile improvement.

Many thanks for your very quick response. Didn't notice an instruction sheet in the box only a parts list. Regardless appears very easy to do, once you know how.... No need to keep removing/replacing the battery as per the video, with a switch being fitted.

Very pleased indeed with my new PTA wagons simply superb in all respects, including the quality packaging. Questions : how does one get the tail light to work ? no obvious signs of a switch ? and how/where to fit the supplied battery ? TIA Ken

A very wet Postie delivered my PTA's at lunch time. Look forward to opening the box later.. question now is should I really have purchased more..?? as It's very likely these will sell out quickly !
