Yep I'm possibly going to use slider switches myself, Ian .That looks like a good price there on Amazon.
I find wire in tube reliable cheap and pretty easy to install. I'm always surprised that more of use on here don't use it.
Started work this afternoon on installing the wire in tube for the. I really like operating points this way in what is essentially the same method as the prototype (minus the tube of course!)
The wires are stocked by my local model shop in Formby - I think the radio controlled aero lot use them for internal aeroplane controls. The tube is from B&Q that I bought ages ago with the 4? internal wires pulled out.
I'm having another go at the Kirby type modification of Bachman couplings i.e with the staple wire superglued onto the coupling hook.
The main problem I'm having is that any superglue I use takes ages to set (and I'm using high quality high cost ones!) and so the whole process of attaching the staples has become a bit of a nightmare.
Has anyone any suggestions/observations from their own experiences in this?

Wing walls to be attached next and then painting.
Thinking ahead to the canal water, what success and failures have others had on this forum with various liquids used to represent canals?
I read somewhere recently that a single 0-6-0 US Dock Tank was transferred for a short period up to Bank Hall in the earlt 60's . Has anyone ever seen a photo of it in the Liverpool area, and do we know exactly where it worked during its short loan period?

Decided to ditch the kickback siding to the factory and have a simple fan of three sidings.
Started work this morning on the trackbase. Hopefully from the pics you will see where the canal will run under.
The title says it all really - three times today I tried to post, (with pics attached) but on pressing 'post' I was crashed out of RMweb back to my desktop.
Can anyone help please?

Looking at an old OS map online, I was surprised to discover a signalbox and siding that I have never ever seen referenced before in any book or magazine situated between Woodvale and Mossbridge at North Moss Lane on the old CLC route to Southport.
Just wondered if anyone had any info about this location at all?
Don't even know if North Moss Lane is the name of the box - That is the name of the nearby lane so I have given it that name!
Good point Lez. off stage top right from the kickback it is imagined there is a loop. I will physically move the loco off stage from one end to the other.
I've only just realised that..
..Aintree Central used to have a direct rail connection to the LYR lines at the south of the CLC station joining the LYR in the vicinity of Sefton Jnc.
I gained this knowledge thanks to the study of the online OS maps.

I thought it might make an interesting thread. What is your railway 'I've only just realised that...' ?
