  1. I admire your patience with regard to this model. As nice a looking loco that the Rails/Dapol Terrier is, I think I'd be looking at a full refund and a replacement in the form of the newly improved Hornby variant.
  2. Another Bure Valley Models bargain, Blue livery King Class at £100. http://www.burevalleymodels.com/p/8725/R3410---BR-King-Henry-III-BR-Blue-Early-Crest
  3. Tonight's tipple from Wychwood Brewery which is now under the management and ownership of Marston's. A lovely dark red ruby ale with an ABV of 6.6%.
  4. I seem to remember someone confirming that this trader was bona fide. However, there was some posts about the sourcing of items advertised from outside the UK and possible H M R C duties to pay.
  5. Late crest, BR green looks fantastic. Not really a WR fan (Bachmann 94xx excepted) but I may well have to purchase one of these.
  6. Purely warehouse based and yes they are Hornby approved stockists according to their website.
  7. The Hornby Engine Shed blog might be a good place to start. As for a glowing firebox feature or pre-fitted speaker, I'm not aware of these. However, the flickering firebox was a late announcement on the part of the Princess Class shortly before release.
  8. Ian, FYI, Jadlam Racing are a prolific ebay trader who take the full amount due on pre-order items at the point of sale. I've bought quite a few "in stock" items in the past and found them good to deal with.
  9. Most outlets show release period between July and September 2020.
  10. Agreed, That's why I suggested further dialogue/discussion via PM.
  11. FYI, I ordered a brand new Hornby Black 5 from this trader on pre-order. When it arrived it came with a tender which had the old style pin connector and early crest whilst the loco had the correct plug connector fitment. This actually rendered the loco inoperative. I contacted the owner who was dismissive and basically accused me of swapping the tenders over. Why on earth would I do that when the electrical contacts are not compatable ? Numerous telephone calls were made to the shop, where his partner claimed he was not in the shop. I could clearly hear his voice in the background. He later admitted he'd never checked the content of the box prior to despatch. After a few weeks he reluctantly sent a replacement loco out with no apology. Sorry if you don't agree, but that in my opinion is poor customer service. Rather than clog up this blog, may I suggest you PM me if you wish to discuss this further.
  12. Unfortunately, Meatloaf is not alone. Surely forewarned is forearmed !
  13. What an absolutely fantastic loco this is in all liveries. I'm so looking forward to receiving my late crest N7 on pre-order with derails. If anyone is interested they still have this loco available to order for £84.70. This is the lowest price I've seen to date.
  14. What was the Rails comment about their version being the "Steak" version of the Terrier lol ???
  15. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Hornby-X9785-Class-56-Fan-Drive-Belt-/331889141112 I suspect the fan unit component has not been changed in which case you will only require the above belt to make it operational. Hope this assists.
  16. The Rebuilt Merchant Navy and Stanier 8f are both long overdue an update/retool in my opinion. Manufactured to the same standard as the Princess/Coronation Pacific classes and other recent releases, Hornby will have yet another set of winners in their range.
  17. Black 5 Bear

    Hornby king

Maybe try Hornby direct or Peters Spares as first ports of call.
  18. This loco looks 1st class and may even surpass the quality of the Hattons 66. Hopefully it won't be plaqued by minor niggles as per the above model. I'm usually only interested in kettles and late 50s/early 60s diesels, but this is one model I will purchase. Stunning liveries and detail !
  19. Stop teasing us Rob. We've been waiting nearly three years to get hold of one of these blue M/N's. Due apparently Autumn, but the question is which Autumn ?
  20. Good of you to point out the original bargain. As you say, let's hope someone from RMweb secured a bargain.
  21. Now showing £35.95 on Amazon. If you look hard enough you can find these coaches available for around the £25 mark in sales at various outlets during the year.
  22. Hopefully with regard to Adnams Ghostship not the 0% alcohol free option lol.
  23. Jennings also now in the hands of Marstons unfortunately.
  24. I've seen Phoenix beers including Wobbly Bob recently (Within the last 6 mths before lockdown) on tap at Wetherspoon's. TBH, I've never seen it bottled for sale in supermarkets. Wobbly Bob is one of my favourite's and a good choice sir !
  25. Indeed, more bad news for the smaller brewing community. Marston's claim to produce the same products they've taken over. You only have to taste Lancaster and Ringwood beers to realize this is not the case.
