I got my D6313 this week - very nice model - plugged in my TCS 621 - hint if you have a digitrax controller then reprogramming CV36 to 16 on this decoder will allow the cab lights to be controlled by buttons 1 & 3 rather than 1 & 2 (as button 2 isnt latching on digitrax) Anyway all going smoothly until I tried to fit Kadees and had very big droop from the NEM sockets - it seemed to be the socket mounting causing the droop rather than the normal cause of the NEM socket having too much play in it - anyone else got this problem and come up with a solution? Ideas gratefully received.
  2. Ian I find that 192.com has the best resolution for banbury - at least it did a year or so ago when I was looking re: measurements - yes I'd love any as I live a 10 hour drive from Banbury these days and so I can't just pop over - I took my measurements by taking the known length of a virgin voyager shown in the station in the 192.com overhead and worked back from there to define lengths of major items and from those using photos lengths of smaller items. obviously though errors creep in using that method. What I really would like is a colour picture showing station signs in '62 I believe they were still western region colours then but despite around 100 period photos I have none that are both in colour and show the signs. Cheers Tim
  3. Hi Ian, That looks quite marvellous - I am doing banbury in OO - no further than the baseboards at the moment! lucky enough to have 7.5m x 4.5m room but the station is still hard to fit in. I have been working on a google sketchup of the station building and so I know just how complex it is and yours looks a fantastic representation. I am modelling it circa 1962 but apart from the lights and signs and a little track plan difference it is much the same modelling problem and I know I wont get it as good as you have. Good luck and would love to see many more photos - and track plan if you have the time. Cheers Tim
  4. I too have a bachie 25 (and a class 24) and on both of mine it seems to me a classic example of kadee droop - i.e. trip pin pliers are not a good solution as the coupler clasp is at the wrong height too - I have tried shimming the bottom of the NEM coupler but that was not sufficient - I have not gone back to the problem yet but was intending to try two half shims - one at the top of the rear of the NEM box and one at the bottom of the front of the box to make the coupler point up a little and counteract the droop - let me know if you get anywhere or if anyone else has any good ideas - TimP
