  1. Little update on what I am trying to achieve. A little bit more painting and trying to replicate corrugated sheet on the roof. As you can see it is not as long as the real thing but I think it will do if not I may still extend it.
  2. It has been along while not posting any updates. After two moves around the house aviemore is finally in its permanent home in the loft. I have been doing a couple of projects one is a railbus which needs another coat of paint and decals. I have the tomix chassis but this is in the progress of being Dcc fitted. I have also started on aviemore signal box please feel free to comment or add suggestions as this has more work to do on it. I also have the working signals made by mark Seward fantastic job but made my platforms look rubbish so they are being redone. Hopefully I can supply photos soon of the layout progress once I have some decent lighting fixed up.
  3. Simon unless anything has changed it is supposed to be at warley this year, I will double check with Carl. Come and see us there.
  4. As promised I hope the track plan shows more detail and the photos show more detail. I have found finding information on the coal loading area fascinating to research as there is not much information on this area.
  5. Hello thanks for the interest in aviemore. I do have a better track plan that I would have preferred to use but trying to fit everything within 12 feet is a mission. I would have preferred it to be more prototypical on the south end. I will post the track plan when I find it and some more photos.
  6. Well done everyone for the help, I shall help terry with updates on this model for all to see. If you want to see it in the flesh we had discussions for it to be running at Nottingham exhibition next month. Come and see it and terry excellent layout. 7. Well a very important and exciting development for Neely. We now have a working great northern / fcc 365 emu. Terry just needs some help with an Aerial view of a 365 pantograph and working light clusters. I will ask a fellow signaller who may be kind enough to help from his box. This is a 3D printed model from shape ways I believe on a Bachmann farish desiro 150 chassis. Terry will correct if this is wrong. All I can say is well done and this looks very smart and ran brilliantly on Neely tonight.
  8. Well not much has happened apart from having to move locations in the room it is situated. I have now painted the Highland footbridge and started marking the platform edges. I have also finished painting the Sheldon crane I made ( transfers in n gauge are so fiddly). Progress has been slow mainly to work commitments and finally finishes to my other layout hopefully for its first exhibition this year.
  9. Great service received from Mr Collett, had a great deal done for me on a graham farish class 47. Very friendly guy who couldn't have done more for me. Much more business coming from me in the future.
  10. Well I have had a bit more time now the summer is over, I have put in a few more point motors and started the platforms. Unfortunately I have obtained a more detailed and correct track layout plan but I'm not far out. With the lack of space I have decided to leave it as it is. I have been finding more photos for research which is how I came across the plan. If I can get anywhere near to the images I will be over the moon ( anyone know anywhere to transfer slides to photos?). Need to finish laying track in the fiddle yard and make it bigger than I have currently.
  11. Looking forward to receiving mine and see it in the flesh. Well done all for coming up with this.
  12. Terry I must say that now you have painted the boards it looks a lot smarter and professional for presentation. It also makes the scenery stand out more. Funny how small changes make a large difference to a great layout . Maybe I should do that on mine. ( volunteers lol)
  13. Looking forward to this just put my name down for two. Just hope to find more information to confirm any ran through aviemore.
  14. Quick update dcc point servos ordered and Dapol magnetic auto uncoupling strips. I was also naughty and ordered a new Heljan oo gauge Park royal railbus. This is a Scottish one with aviemore on the destination board. Just wish one is available in n gauge. First trial point motor was fitted yesterday with great success just need the rain to stop so I can cut some more boards for the fiddle yard and back scenery.
  15. Well here is a little update, I now have started the fiddle yard and will be building up the wooden supports at the back to support this. I have just ordered some dual frog juicers for my crossovers. Hopefully these will sort out the tripping that occurs here.(still learning the electrics as it is not my favourite bit). It is nice to be able to get some stock running at least on the scenic side. I Will be installing one of many servo point motors next along with finally fitting the nce controller plate( I will need two more for other end). Thanks to terry for playing his important part in keeping my 170 alive.
  16. Aviemore finally has its first train running, very happy now.Only have the one loop running, just to do the sidings and engine shed. It's annoying how many times you have to keep fiddling track to get a smooth run before I was happy. Right.must now try and work out why my new chipped scotrail 170 won't work.
  17. No andy I gentleman called mark steward, he has alot more skill than me.
  18. Just a small update here is one of the future working signals for the layout.that I am having done by a very skilled modeller.
  19. Hello Mark Many thanks for the very useful information, I have found loads of photographs doing my research but those plans if the station are a great help. Still trying to find information on the coal? Store of the shed where it's all hedges now.
  20. Yes matey I was in the middle of soldering lol, oh why couldn't the trains be delayed for one day.
  21. Well bill I am very impressed with your recommendation on the longhorn kit of a Highland footbridge. It arrived this morning and I have just started. This has taken an hr to just this point whilst I perfect my soldering. I normally am ok with it but this is my first time on a kit which is rather therapeutic.
  22. Hello bill and mark thanks for your input. I didn't know about these until now and have spent ages with this ratio kit and have not been very happy with it. So now I have seen these works of art this is going to one side whilst I place an order for something a lot better. I will post the finished item.
  23. Well a little update on aviemore. After seeing these brilliant pictures I have raised my game and updated the track plan which is simpler and more accurate. I have also got round to raising the boards where the track will be ready for fixing permanently. Anyway the two pictures I have attached are the curved metal panels on the footbridge which I am making from florists wire. This has so far taken 1 1/2 hours to do this one with three more to do. It will make my shifts at work go quickly, my only concern is removing it from the wood I have used to frame it on. I might try doing the other three on plasticine or similar to make removing easier once dry.
  24. Well here we are terry after a small session on neely.some more detailed photos to get some interest. Let's hope we get some enquiries for the exhibition circuit.
