  1. I imagine this is about as 'standard' as it gets. 50 2840 on my DBLT... And a little less standard maybe? A DR reko 52 8105
  2. never mind cheesysmith, I think we should call you Vic Berry, the amount of coaches you cut up
  3. I'm really good at thinking, I can do it with my eyes shut...
  4. or even on a dark summer's evening, if your weather has been anything like August has been here at Fritters Towers. Haven't seen the sun in weeks...
  5. Makes me glad my current BLT doesn't need a turntable!
  6. I had a nice cup of tea and a M&S Double Chocolate Mini Bite.
  7. A bit more progress... none of the scenery is fixed yet, it's all in a state of flux to gauge the best effect. The track is fixed and the electrics in. All two wires of it. The rest of the layout is still a plywood desert!
  8. Since the photos are dated 1973, I think we can say they got away with it!
  9. Gosh, Minturn looks wrecked.... The recent scheme to reopen the Tennessee Pass has just failed. Shame, but at least its still intact for the next attempt. Such a charismatic road, the DRGW.
  10. Also, is it just my imagination or are they not really taxing the 4014 in the way the 3985 used to actually do some work? I can't recall seeing any stirring performances yet, just this giant piece of machinery sedately rolling about. Shhh now, but its a bit underwhelming once you get past the monstrous size.
  11. If the heat generated by braking is sufficient to loosen tires, then we're well past worrying about braking... the damn thing must be re-entering the earths atmosphere wheels first...
  12. Perhaps they should tag on a proper train, like they did with the Challenger and the stack train...
  13. And that's why I have three to run my branch line. Actually it might be 4, I'd have to check!
  14. I'm quite pleased with the impact the background has... it is begining to feel like an actual place. I need to tweak the electrics then pva the track in place next. There's scope for some more civilian buildings too...
  15. Danke sehr, John. It was your tip to have a look at Rocoline... I am very pleased with it. Weaethering and ballasting next.
  16. Hitting the like button does not do justice to that magnificent display of sausageness... where can this be found?
  17. The middle one is the headshunt... the other two are freight sidings. Anyway, I've changed it all around since then. Although it was an accurate rendition of Hirschberg, I couldn't get the lokschuppen to fit properly and the centre of the scene was dominated too much by the buildings. I've rearranged things to try and get the buildings into a more harmonious arrangement. Plus I.get to use a double slip. Always a plus in my book.
