No real visual progress as mainly been doing the lighting today and giving the base some basic colour, that keeps seeping into the Cork. Anyway the only visual change is the door framing on the Slate processing building to hide the crude cuts when cutting down to size, surprising level it turned out when gluing the wooden strips on it. Any door will be on the inside but I'm not sure it needs it actually.
Anyway, clearances being checked by Blanche and some Nigel Brooks rubble trucks.

I think the demand is there given the prices some go for on eBay (Britomart's seem to be fetching up to and over £200) and it's about 15/16 months since they were released so another batch this year some time is probably feasible given likely time between ordering from a factory and delivery and hopefully likely.

Shades(!) of Model Railway Constructor in the sixties
Afraid I'm too young to remember Model Railway Constructor.

Some more progress on Porth Nadolig, not too much visual progress but all the point motors finally work, two of the four would only work in one direction. No idea what was wrong with one, totally stripped from the board and wired in an independent circuit with the same wires and it worked, refitted and it worked. The other turned out was some damaged peso wiring looms. Anyway all works now.
So beside that, progress since last time is the building have had windowsills and window frame added and some quoins added to them. Canal boat arrived and given a base coat of black.

The push fit destination boards are a fantastic little extra in my opinion!

The preserved 93 is a bit of enigma, we were advised the project manager for 93 that the colour they used in the first place was slightly wrong and it has further 'faded' / 'aged' to purple (which is unusual for reds that usually bleach).
Thats interesting, it definitely did fade to purple but I was looking at photos from a charter with it no long after it was outshopped. The colour n the model looks good to me!

Trying desperately to choose a livery, the maroon one looks red in some pictures and deeper maroon in others.
Obviously down to lighting but for those that have this colour how would you describe it in your eyes please.
Thanks.
At first I thought the crimson was a bit red but having had another look at my photos of 93 I'd say, like eddiethedog has, it is actually spot on.

A shot from my little seen 'West Street' diorama, possibly pushing the limits of what can go in this topic as it's clearly low relief and mainly ready to plant items. This was built at new year last year but hasn't been out much at all. I got too involved in planning and building Tanyglaslyn.

Very nice - how have you modelled the water, looks very convincing from this angle
Agreed, if it's not photoshopped in (which if it is it's been done very well) and if it's not it's probably the best modelling of water I seen!

What a shame, I went to many of them but a stand out for me was 2022 when there just seemed to be a buzzing atmosphere of "we're back modelling after the pandemic", always a great show for bumping into friends and catching up. Also a great show with the foreign societies there on mass like the Swiss and Austrian societies.
So Thank-you to the Warley club for all their years of putting up with the stresses and strains of putting such a big show on for all our enjoyment and letting so many of us play trains in huge numbers for a weekend.

They are now showing as "due in between April 2024 and June 2024", so I assume they've decided to go ahead with production.
Let's hope that's true. I have a pair on order including one that I know operated less than 500m from the house. I think it'd be very apt with Hatton's closing down if one of the last acts was a release of one of their own models.

They are quality photos Karl, you can't post too many.
Well thankyou very much. I really just meant that I've put quite a few up in 2 or 3 days that was all.

Best get a move on Porth Nadolig with the Quarry Hunslets still shunting slate up in the galleries. 😂
