Browsing various sites it seems that there are an ever increasing number selling coreless motors, which may be of use to us. These can, sometimes, be purchased quite cheaply (as little as two or three pounds). The main reason for this post is that a large number of these motors seem to be designed for 3-5 volts dc ( for drones and such like). The question is, can anything be added in circuit, such as resistors to make them run under our normal 12v controllers? Any advice would be appreciated!

On the subject of A4 tenders, please see the attached spreadsheet, compiled from a number of sources - while I believe it is accurate, any corrections would be welcomed! A4 TENDERS.xls Chas

Some more photos of progress, the embankments South of the station have been laid ready for "grassing", this was recently completed after the first main run of point rodding had been completed, and this can also be seen in one of the pictures. All the buildings at the North end have been completed to the basic level, needing weathered etc.. Hopefully more work will follow, subject to taking Alloa to the SEC at the end of February.

Following on from the "Up" button moving (mine is on the bottom left using Edge) I now note that the right hand third of the screen is now occupied by all the "stuff" that used to appear at the bottom of the page, i,e, the latest BRM cover etc. All very well if it is meant to force us to read what we have already seen on every page but it does reduce, considerably, the size of any pictures that have been inserted in threads - can we not, please, go back to what it was?

Yes, but I can't remember the original source! Chas

Tonu, Ah, that makes sense now, yes, they did run at the show, and, indeed may again. I wasn't there myself, hence the confusion. and a happy new year to you and Mo. Chas m

Help to repair H & M Walkabout controllers.
ScRSG replied to sncfbill's topic in Electrics (non-DCC)
Did (Does?) Gaugemaster not offer a lifetime guarantee on all H&M controllers? -
More buildings! Another small update on progress are the foundry buildings at the North end of Larbert station, still to be bedded in and weathered. The large shed at the north end, while looking overscale, will contain an overhead crane, and the building is in proportion to the others. Work has slowed in the past couple of weeks due to the group's commitment to taking Alloa to the Wigan show this weekend coming.

Accurascale Class 55 Deltic - 4mm scale
ScRSG replied to Andy Y's topic in Accurascale / Irish Railway Models
Probably been asked before, but to help stop the usual ebay rip offs, is there any plan to do another run of Deltics? -
Remind us, please. Chas

Another irregular update, the roads behind the station beginning to be formed (top centre of the picture and additional buildings added - the weighbridge and the station masters house. All to show that something is happening! Chas

Can I please prevail on the good members of Wright Writes. Does anyone, by any chance have a copy of the instructions for a Dave Alexander J38 kit, I just need the body and the chassis, as for some reason I had the tender! If I could get a scan that would be really helpful! Thanks, Chas

Back now from Model Rail, where we were doing a demonstration this year. Pleased to see people we haven't seen for a while. There was interest shown in what we are currently doing although I did note that Alloa was missed as an exhibit, perhaps next year! One or two visitors did comment on the possibility of joining the group, so if anyone is interested please PM me and I will happily supply more detail. (Please check out the club's own website below)

On the subject of Nu-cast V2's, here are pictures off the latest one I have done, the unique (?) 60813, From the photos of the new Bachman model, I think the Nu-cast one stands up pretty well and looks more "elegant". Going back to a previous item on D49's and particularly Morayshires tender, I got one of my club colleagues to take a photo of the only plate on the tender, I don't know if it helps but here it is - Any help? Chas

Another recent addition is the first of the two bridges, this one being what I refer to as the "barrow" bridge - the slight unevenness will be sorted! Hope you all like!

Semaphore Signals - 4mm Scale (Mainly)
ScRSG replied to Steve Hewitt's topic in Permanent Way, Signalling & Infrastructure
Steve, A question, if I may, how do you fit the completed signals to the layout? Is the signal(s) a complete unit including the servo units or are they separate? I find fitting the operating mechanism under the board and attaching the signal operating rods a difficult task so any "secrets" would help! Thanks, Chas -
I am interested by the ex-LNER articulated coaches per the discussions above, and I wonder if any of you experts can give me details of the ones which ended up in Scotland, especially types and diagrams. Thanks Chas

Does this help the Morayshire tender debate? (No idea about copyright holder, will delete if necessary) Chas
