  1. I've always used a fibreglass pencil to remove logos, words etc. Just rub gently, take your time and don't overdo it.
  2. Very cleverly done, it's nice to see someone trying something different.
  3. I have used the ST1413ST1413 Woodland Scenics 4% x 2' Incline Starter 1" Elevation (x4/Set) on my layout. The Bachmann Baldwin and Double Fairlie can handle it with no problem.
  4. Hope it all goes well this weekend for you Phil, sorry I can't get there to see the action.
  5. No I haven't, most of my stock is Peco or Bachmann. I do have some Minitrains wagons but they are only used permanently coupled to a Minitrains loco.
  6. Yes they are a bit expensive but I only use them on the coach / wagon next to the loco. I tend to keep my coaches / wagons permanently coupled together with the Peco short couplings. With a magnet under the track I can uncouple very easily. I have tried the Greenwich couplings but find them very tricky to assemble. Sometimes you just have to bite the bullet 😀😀
  7. I've used the chopper couplings from Tramfabriek and have found them to be very good. http://tramfabriek.co.uk/couplings.html Hope that helps. Andy
  8. I remember lots of Westerns and Warships and on one occasion a convoy of 3 light engine Class 37s.
  9. Thanks Phil, I knew there would be a good reason. I spent a lot of time around that bridge over the years.
  10. Why have you put in three tracks? I can only remember there being two.
  11. It was good to catch up with you Phil. Thanks for all the fettling, Bridget now runs a lot smoother. Glad to hear you enjoyed the cream teas.
  12. Which photo was it Phil? Can you post a copy of it?
  13. I spent many happy hours train-spotting from that bridge!
  14. I was given a Minitrains loco and wagons. I repainted the wagons and fitted a load to them, here is “Bridget” taking 4 of them for a ride.
  15. Hi Ade, Sorry it’s been so long since I posted anything. I’m slowly making some progress and I’ll try to make more regular updates. Best Wishes Andy
  16. Thanks Phil, it’s getting there slowly.
  17. I’ve not tried a video on here before, but this link should be one I’ve uploaded to YouTube. It’s weathered “Bridget” with some weathered wagons.
  18. I’ve weathered “Bridget” and added Modelu crew figures. Also started applying weathering to some wagons as well. A line side fence from Scale Model Scenery has been put in place at the top of the rock face.
  19. A Wills Goods Yard Crane and a Scale Model Scenery Platform Shelter. They can be seen in place in the last photo.
  20. Some more photos. I bought a couple of buildings cheap from eBay and renovated them.
  21. It’s been over 12 months since I last posted any update to my layout. I’ve made a bit of progress but there is still a long way to go.
  22. Thanks Richard, I’ve been in touch with them and got the necessary list of CVs. Andy
  23. I have a Bachmann Baldwin 10-12-D 009 gauge loco with a Loksound 5 decoder fitted. F10 controls the Guards Whistle, which is far too loud compared to the engine sound. According to the ESU manual, CV 331 controls sound slot 10 with a range of 0-128 and a factory default of 128. I have set CV31 to 16 and CV32 to 1 as per the manual before I tried altering CV331. However no matter what value I set in CV331, the volume does not change. Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong, please? Andy
  24. I've finally sorted the problem of the short. It seems that the wire to the frog from the SEEP PM1 point motor was causing the problem as it's not needed on the Peco Electrofrog 009 points. I've disconnected the wire and everything is now working as it should. Many thanks to everyone who offered me advice. Best Wishes Andy
