  1. Thanks, Peter: I really have to learn how to do that! Cliff
  2. Carry your camera with you and make sure it's on and ready to fire...or get a better smart phone... Firstly the front end, then the rear - two 67's on the same train. However, the one at the rear looks - shall we say? - a little uncared for
  3. Luxembourgian electric loco No. 3603 in, I think, 2005
  4. My apologies for not having responded before, Jon. But you're right, and I hadn't noticed. I think I'll be able to improve that (and some other) shots when/if the negs come to hand; and of course to scan them the right way round. Cliff
  5. Old enough to have learned by now, especially as I've been taking photographs of locomotives for decades, I've still got something growing out of 76079's chimney! Rats! In my defence, I couldn't get to another position to avoid the protuberance.
  6. Another cliche - sorry - but I always like to see her in action
  7. ...taking a photograph that neatly and devastatingly, but unconsciously, describes my prowess at building model locomotives...
  8. Of course! Thanks; I really should have remembered. Cliff
  9. Would some kindly soul take pity on me and tell me where I took this photo, please?
  10. 25323 approaching St Albans from the south in about '87
  11. Class 25 approaching St Albans, mid eighties (and hauling an interesting train: a BR brake van, an EMU (possibly failed) another BR brake van and, I think, an LMS one in grey at the rear
  12. (Yawning...) Yeah, but, like, its so boring on shed....
  13. But back to Leicester for a couple of shots that include my only class 56
  14. Belgian class 54 (type 204) on local passenger train at Dinant in, I think, 2002
  15. A view taken from the Route Charlemagne across the Meuse, walking from Dinant town centre
  16. I posted earlier a photo of a Belgian loco (at least I'd thought it was Belgian) Turns out I did manage to step back and take a 'proper' photo and I came across the negatives earlier today (looking for something else, of course!), so, for completeness, here it is. I now know that it was a DRG class 64 and that the railway on which it was running was the Chemin de Fer a Vapeur des 3 Vallees in Mariembourg, Begium (apologies as I've missed out some accents, but can't see how to apply them)
  17. For completeness, the other one, same visit. I'm not sure which livery I prefer.
  18. At the risk of cliche, here's one of the VoR locomotives
  19. Thanks. That might be the answer, Jeff: I'll see what tube is available Cliff
  20. Well, I have got no further with the building of the Y9, partly because we've had the builders in so I couldn't get access to my workshop. I do now, but there's a layer of MDF dust all over the shop which I must clear away before I can resume activities there. The other reason is that I've got stuck, and would appreciate any advice on how to make a crosshead assembly for this loco, which is a single bar type - somehow I can't quite visualise it hence don't know where to start. Sorry if that sounds pathetic, but I'm just stuck - any advice will be appreciated. I did complete the picture above and post it here if only to show that I do get things finished, even if only occasionally. My thanks in advance. Regards, Cliff
