The smooth running quality of these locos crawling over pointwork on speed step 1 has to be seen to be believed. It bodes extremely well for the Deltic and class 37s. A very happy customer.  Locos manufactured to exacting standards we have never seen the like of before.

A1 in its display box, beautifully presented. Nice to see the certificate signed by the four principles behind the original dream and the successful execution that borough this model to market.

Classic CIE Silver livery as delivered by Metrovic with the Crossley power plants. She needs some gentle weathering alright. Just perfect model for my era.

Shame, look at 17:35s, a scum bag appears to be throwing some sort of a missile at the train. Pops up out of the long grass and throws something at the passing train, then ducks back down into hiding. Watch it on the video. They are not waving

A class (A23r) meets C class (B233) meets 181 class (B188). 1960s heaven. Thank you IRM/AS. What an incredible milestone to reach by producing your first model loco to such a high standard with sublime chassis performance.

Just for fun a quick informal survey of future model wish lists. This is inspired in light of the recent milestone of the amazing IRM/AS A class locos arriving with customers, and in light of high eBay prices for former releases of older models. Results will be published here and on Facebook at the weekend. Hopefully it will shed some light on what modellers are interested in next after the A class models. It is brief so not comprehensive and many possible prototypes have been omitted, but hopefully the most popular items are included. Thanks for participating.

ABC - A class and C class meet, while B188 waits in the cattle dock for the road.

A23r departs hauling the 15:10 branch working to tuam while B118 waits in the goods siding to follow 15mins later bound for Claremorris yard.

Drone footage in 1969??  A class and C class side by side. A23 about to depart with 15:10 Tuam branch train while B188 waits in the goods yard to follow shortly afterwards once the section has been cleared by Athenry box. C class B233 waits in the loop to run light engine to Limerick shed once A23r train clears the station limits.

A23r accelerates out in to the countryside with newly weathered 6 wheel HLV behind. That day glo orange had to go.

Gort had a visitor arriving from Ennis hauling a branch train from Limerick to Athenry. Super precision runner could cross points super smoothly at speed step 1 of 28, looks as good as it runs. Welcome A23r to my Black'n'Tan heaven. Thank you Richie for this master piece, ya sometimes grumpy genius. Great end result, credit and thanks to everybody involved in the final product. Now the weathering powders are scheduled to come out to play

Thank you. Unfortunately I had not yet received an email reply to my email query yesterday, just rudely deleted posts. So after reading the link above the answer seems to be July or August next year for the class 37. A simple direct 3 word date answer would have sufficed and been more helpful rather than me having to read through all that. Such delays are first world problems. Will enjoy class 37 whenever delivered. Will be back home in a week, so looking forward to getting a taste of your first ever loco models, the CIE 'A' class. A taste of things to come and the culmination of a dream hatched by four guys. Thanks btw for the helpful tip off 7 years ago, saved me a packet.

Thanks. I didn't receive an email. So after reading the link above the answer seems to be Q1 2022 for the Deltics. Looking forward to them, I can retrieve some of my old BR outline coaching stock to run with them on kingsbridge.

The forum has become virtually unusable in the past few weeks with pop up adverts and I've notice some features such as 'like' options have gone. Has RMweb gone the redtop tabloid route? A shame, too much hassle to read this and far too much hassle to bother contributing.

Started working on the lighting circuits, they are powered from the DCC bus.

Gort ready for the next phase which is electricity poles, lighting, trees, station fencing and road weathering. And then finally servo operated signals. This will take some time.

ToDo

• Station fencing

• Point rodding along the loop

Layout and this scene was inspired by a photo in the wonderful book "Rails through the West" by Jonathan Beaumont and Barry Carse.

Gort circa 1970. Buildings scratch built using plastic card and balsa using old photos to work out the building shapes and sizes. Gort had two iconic features, its dominant goods shed and its water tower.

Scene based on photo from Book "Rails Through the West" upon which this layout was built. Alas the HLV in 1970 was not fresh out of the carriage paint shop at inchicore (note to self weather that soon).

Looking forward to the final mile. But the divil is in the detail, not gonna rush the final few furlongs.

Yes understand that, but it's been 7 years since I was told a proper RTR Irish A class was on the cards. Back then I was about to buy 6 SF A classes and a friend of a friend told me to hang on as a proper A class was coming. So a seven year dream for me to get these epic locos. I understood the genesis of the plan to one day produce an A class model was born 7 years ago. Epic achievement by all concerned, the culmination of a dream I'm sure for your team. Congrats to all.
