  1. I managed to get a D6704 yesterday, delivered today. The model looked great, I turned on the sound it ran 1 metre the went quiet, oh sh£t. Turned CV 63 to 180, OMG it’s like the model railway version of K,ell,,,y B,,rook. Gorgeous looking, smooth and sounds great. Thanks Accurascale I can’t have KB but this is nearly as good. Congratulations on a fine model. I should say I have no connection to Accurascale, or alas KB.
  2. The Hornby Pullman’s are 12 wheel Bournemouth Belles probably about 10 years old. Does anyone know if newer ones are different electrics? I was thinking of getting a Coronation set with lights but wonder if lights are more trouble than they’re worth? They do look good though.
  3. I have several sets of lit Hornby and Bachmann Pullman’s on a dcc Sound layout, I have recently started to use an AS Deltic and 8 Mk1 Pullman’s, every time there is a short the red overload comes on and won’t reset other than if I remove all of the Pullmans which is an obvious pain. Does anyone have a similar experience, do these boosters ware out as it’s about 7 years old. (Phoned Bachmann who couldn’t help)
  4. I had an unpleasant experience with this seller once. I received an item which was broken (possibly/probably in the post) on reporting the damaged item I was privy to a load of abuse, threats and bad language, he even told me he had been a police officer and was used to fraudsters like me, I put the phone onto speaker and laughed and cried at his lies, insinuations and use of bad language, eventually refunded me (minus postage) the cost of a loco. I purchase locos all over world and this was a seriously the rudest experience ever. I have no no axe to grind, honestly, but be aware.
  5. Just opened my GT3, very impressed. The dcc sound is convincing and the lighting superb. Runs like a dream with 10 coaches. The overall finish is immaculate, I hope that KRM will help other well known manufacturers to mix the correct colour green. For £285 with sound an amazing first model and well worth the wait.
  6. First of all what brilliant service from Bure Valley Railways Shop in supplying my Hornby A2/2. Its a pity the Hornby QA is not so good as BVR service and I want to join the growing number of victims of poor quality products, particularly this model. £191 for a loco with a missing lamp iron terrible, I know there are worse things happening in life right now, but if you’re asking these sort of prices it’s got to be perfect, very nice doesn’t warrant the price. BVR are now going to have to waste time and money sorting out my problem.
