  1. I think it would be helpful if you could explain what you mean by "anonymous"; does it mean that you are not signed in to YouTube?
  2. It may depend on the brand as I've recently been using some Railmatch and Humbrol emanels that are over 20 years old without any problems, but I did test them on pieces of plastic sprue before committing them to any models.

  4. Strictly speaking that is correct but in practice the meaning of, and the the number it refers to, are 'slightly' elastic. One will be told something will take a couple of seconds/minutes/hours/day/months.... or someone might say they are only going to have a couple of pints, often "a couple" means two or more but less than ten.
  5. I too can recommend Grainge and Hodder, nice laser cut ply parts and very responsive customer service. The current turn round on orders is a month, mine were ordered on 10th November and arrived on 11th December.
  6. Chris Nevard has a short video on Instagram showing his technique; https://www.instagram.com/p/CFwj-YAHn0g/?utm_source=ig_web_button_share_sheet and a write up on his blog; http://nevardmedia.blogspot.com/2011/08/creating-effect-of-ash-ballast.html
  7. Their current eBay listing suggest estimated delivery of a month, as it's been twice that probably worth sending an email.
  8. An understandable decision considering the current situation we find ourselves in. Looking forward to May '22 with my fingers crossed.
  9. The cleaning products aisle in supermarkets and places like The Range, Wilko, Rober Dyas. I've got Shiny Sinks and Viakal in Sainsbury's in the recent past.
  10. I'd agree that it is a disappointment, but considering the current situation understandable. Although I can't see that the delay of this volume will necessarily cause the publication of subsequent volumes to be pushed back.
  11. Kernow now have pictures of the engineering prototype on their website; http://www.kernowmodelrailcentre.com/pg-148-LSWR-Road-Van
  12. This thread may have what you're looking for; frame widgetiframe widget
  13. Ian, York Modelmaking do a range of windows and doors, which can be altered on request if needed. https://yorkmodelrail.com/shop/ Regards
  14. The Crecy website shows that volume 3 is due 30th October, it will be covering the 13 ton wooden bodied mineral wagons. http://www.crecy.co.uk/the-acquired-wagons-of-british-railways-volume-3
  15. According to An Illustrated History of Southern Pull-Push Stock after the closure of the Sheppey branch, in December 1950, sets 513 and 514 wandered around the South Western section during 1951, being noted at Portland, Hayling Island and Exmouth. Between 1952 and 1956 they were allocated to the Clapham Jn - Kensington Olympia sevice, 1957 to 1959 they were used on the Fawley branch, although the table at the of their section in the book show the 1957 allocations as 513 - Fawley, and 514 - Salisbury for Idmiston.
  16. There are several ideas in this thread and another featuring boxfiles
  17. Not sure how accurate they are but @45568 did a thread showing how he detailed 3 Trix bodies The results, to my eye, look impressive.
  18. Green Scene sell postiche; http://www.green-scenes.co.uk/store/product/gs-319 I picked up some from them at Railex last year.
  19. To put that volume of water in to everyday relatable units; that's 500,000 Litres or 1,056,686 pints!
  20. Well that's subjective, is 4 months a very long time? For a one-man-band small trader it probably isn't. Although the show dates have not been updated for this year, Shawplan is a regular attender of the show listed for 2019 so it's highly likely that they will be attending most in not all of the same shows in 2020. A check of the relevant show's website will most likely confirm whether or not they are attending this year.
  21. Just checked the website and......................................................... they're back!
  22. Unfortunately Backwoods Miniatures are no longer trading, there's a thread here; and a message on their website explaining the reason; http://www.backwoodsminiatures.com/ Regards
  23. The old forum no longer works with the new software, details can be found in this thread;
  24. I can understand that if a layout's prototype dictates that a certain piece of signature rolling stock is required, the non availability of it in RTR form can be frustrating to some. In the case of the promised, but as yet not available, 10 Ton Road Van there are a number of alternatives, most of which have already been mentioned; Substitute with another RTR model, thinking Hornby's new LSWR Brake van, but noting that it has an issue with the colour of the LSWR and SR versions. Build a kit, Smallbrook Studio and Bill Bedford/Mousa Models both have the 10 Ton Road van in their ranges, although as an alternative both also have kits for the 18 ton vans and Smallbrook have the LSWR/WD van, providing more choice. Scratchbuild but as there are kits this would only really suit those who enjoy that sort of thing. Wait until the Kernow model arrives. Go without. It's as simple as that, no amount screaming and shouting, and biting off the heads of those who suggest alternatives is going to change that.
  25. I can recommend SnM Stuff https://www.snmstuff.co.uk/ They carry most of the Vallejo range of modelling products along with Ammo by Mig, AK Interactive, Lifecolor Paint sets, Tamyia Acrylic Paints and Tools, and some Mr Hobby/ Gunze Sangyo products.
