  1. You’re most welcome Tony, I wanted to trial it out, the weathered beaten down look. So I thought I’d try it with your wagon, if it didn’t look right, who cares it’s going to you and I won’t see it again!! Work smarter, not harder! Now, I know that you knew that I know that you did in fact know… forget it Thanks for the humble words Tony, all of my wagon building is down to Jonathan, he’s really been the most help. I’ve stuck to him like glue, I swear he gets over all my messages! Now, either I'm going to jump for joy, or turn and run with my tail between my legs…..but you have replied with: “You've asked the right questions of the right people” shouldn’t it be “off” not “of”? Thanks again Tony, hope she behaves herself.
  2. That’s okay Tony, postage took longer then expected, it was a Christmas present. In case you didn’t know it’s a NER G2 van, I tried to copy the model off a photo I have of one with no roof door, in post 37 lettering with plank repairs and the old style lettering showing through. Hence why there are different shades of grey. Regarding Hornbys coronation, it was all in jest that phone call, I know you knew that, but I just thought clarify. Anyway, I’d rather have someone else’s workmanship and eventually once I build the DS coronation my own workmanship on my layout then Hornbys. I commented this on a Facebook post and was shot down in flames. Maybe it was the way I worded it…… Im feeling something in BR and suitable for your engineers train this Christmas, if you’re a good boy! I’ll be speaking to Mo to make sure you have been!!!
  3. I meant about the A2, not the A3’s handrails. I was mid morning coffee and not awake when I typed that haha.
  4. They are Defo green. A nice set of young eyes were used, not mine I can’t see 6ft in front of me, my girlfriend, Rachel agreed on them being green.
  5. I was only thinking that last night, isn’t there a distinctive shade difference between locos shopped at Doncaster or Darlington?
  6. Oh an even better opportunity to ring him!
  7. I was only joking, but now I’m like “Tony why do this to me” and “yes please” I’ll ring you later on tonight?
  8. It’s okay, I know people in the Model Railway Blackmarket trade.
  9. I’m sick of these upside down Australian Jokes.
  10. Is this the one John? if so, I shall reply in jest also…. ahem *cracks knuckles* Give me all the dates for 2022 and I’ll be sure to make one of them. Once a year is enough for GW rubbish
  11. Next time your over you can borrow some leathers and a hop on the back of the bike with me
  12. Oh yes, it never ceases to violate my brain!
  13. Painting is easy mate, lettering is easy as well, get Tatlows books or ask me for a photo of the real wagon. Lettering can be tricky! I did say to you “this is how I do it” It does look good mate, is that your third metal wagon?
  14. @Dylan Sanderson lazy b*gger, ya didn’t paint it! Coupling hooks look good
  15. When I wrote catch point I thought it was something else. What do you mean by the spacing? EDIT: I know what you mean now
  16. oooh, that’s interesting! Although looking at pictures I think it is a worked point, well I think it’s point rodding seen here next to the point. Here’s another shot. And the Signal Box diagram.
  17. Another milestone reached over the weekend, the UP mainline has now reached the fiddleyard. Now to wire it up and test and then just the UP fiddleyard to wire over the Christmas break. If I get a chance I’m also going to start working on the embankments where I can to get the feel of the layout. This will also stop tools being lost into the abyss between the lower level and track bed. But mostly for it to look like a railway. One thing I was worried about was joining the Peco Bullhead to Code 100 track on a curve, but it actually worked easier then expected. Some filing was needed on the down lines but not the up lines, isn’t it amazing how the stars align. Now, for the last piece of track, the Down loop, in the pictures I have it shows a catch point. My question is do I use the cut down point shown and put a point motor in and power it? Or, use the cut down point and use it as a dummy. I’m leaning more towards the first option as it will make nice photos with the catch point turned away from the mainlines. I also got Thomas DCC’d, can’t have a layout without Thomas!!!
  18. Headmaster just sounded better then Head of Department. The 23rd it is at 9pm. But don’t worry I’ll wake up earlier on my first day off of the holidays to get you all sorted!!!!
