  1. It is alleged, by some, that Elizabeth 1 once swallowed a sealion, at least I think that's what my history teacher said I wasn't really paying attention. I'm sure he also said that WW1 was started by someone shooting an ostrich, or something or nothing.

    Class 142

Are they really worn out now, or just not compliant?
  3. Your 20/3's look fine Nick, I'd stick with them as they have working marker lights.
  4. Message from Jadlam today cancelling my order with them and refunding the money. Said they had received less than they ordered. So they had sold on ebay items that they didn't actually have in stock yet - naughty. Have to try elsewhere.

    Evening Star

I had curry for tea, scratch made too, very tasty.
  6. It still does Nick, when I see it trundling over the river bridge in Maidstone on Thursdays, even when hauled by class 67s. Still a few 5 BEL coaches in the consist too.

    Evening Star

Hi Dazza is this for the kettle or diesel Evening Star?
  8. Thanks for the heads up adb. Ordered 2, 5 remaining.
  9. Had some great nights out in Cleethorpes when I was stationed at RAF Binbrook. There were some very "friendly" nurses there...
  10. I have too mate, but they never bother replying. Apalling engagement with customers in my opinion. I was watching 6 packs of them on ebay yesterday, they sold very quickly for a reasonable sum of approx £48 per pair - damn. Would love a rake of these.

    EFE Rail JIA wagon

Thankyou for the helpful suggestions chaps. I think I may have found and cured the cause of the poor running. I took the bogies off to investigate the wheel b2b. Which were fine. The bogie mount spigots had a cruddy residue of white paint around the base of the spigot where the weathering paint wash had pooled and dried. I've scraped that off with a new scalpel blade and, Hey Presto - wagons run fine now. Result.

    EFE Rail JIA wagon

Hi CB rail. Good suggestion, have misplaced my b2b gauge, I'll tidy up the train set to find it and do that before anything more drastic.
  13. Hello all. I've picked up a couple of the lightly weathered Imerys wagons. Lovely looking, but terrible runners, derailing on every curve and point when running anything other than singularly. I can't see any obvious issue with them, has anybody else had similar problems?
  14. Please do another run of railfreight wagons!
  15. Like you Robin, once folded up, the tabs didn't fit very well into the provided slots. It has gone back in the "to do later" pile......

    Heljan Class 33

Hello all. A long shot, but I'm looking for a Lt Jenny Lewis RN class 33. Please pm if you can help. Many thanks
  17. Nice work Robin. Can I ask what you used to make the folds?
  18. Thanks for posting Neil, the coach looks fine, Humbol 104 is the perfect match to DRS Oxford Blue. I can't get good enough results with Humbrol tinlets as I don't have an airbrush, and I'm not skilled enough to brush paint. I now have a can of Halfords Renault Royal Blue to experiment with when I get time, as recommended by Jack 374.
  19. My focus was written off as beyond economic repair after a front end collision, as they said it would also need a full respray. They gave me £2500 for the car which I thought was very generous. I then bought it back off the insurance company. Cost me £140 and they delivered it to my driveway. I found the same color vehicle in a breakers yard in Dartford with rear end damage and bought from them bonnet, lh wing, front panel, head lights, grills, radiator, air conditioning rad etc, all bolt on bits for £400 and fixed it myself. Had to get it MOT tested and VOSA examined, drove it with no snags for a further 4 years. Brilliant car. No dramas with insurance or tax.
  20. Fascinating video Andy, thanks for posting. The zda flat wagon, loaded with the roof section, is that a converted vda van?
  21. When running loaded, they always have escort coaches for security personnel to travel in. Royal Navy's finest.....
  22. Hi Scott. They are lovely models mate. Quite robust, heavy, great traction only issue I have is the coupling occasionally falls off one of mine. I have 3, 2 DRS, 1 TPE. No hesitation in recommending.
