  1. Thats exactly who they were aimed at and they sold very well according to a book I've been reading about the Allegro. They were never badged as Allegros, just VP 1500 and they never had the quartic steering wheel!
  2. Alastair, what dealer is it, do you know? I tried to find a website for him (he has a few vehicles up for sale judging by the bridge in the photos!) but I couldn't find an address or anything else. (Off to work now, though!)
  3. OK from all the reports I've read, as long as you do the oil changes as they should be... The 4 speeds for the A series and E series are supposed to be pretty good. SD1? Nope, that comes under the luxury category as far as I'm concerned!
  4. Not an auto... Thank goodness! (He could at least have cleaned the inside before taking the photos! Actually, Alastair, I was looking at this, up your way too, you could look it over for me!! https://www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C1380267
  5. Well that's Roger the Rover on his way to his new owner, now to find another car... BL/BMC, 70's/early 80s, automatic and "run of the mill", not large luxury stuff like Jags or sports cars like MGBs...
  6. One of those times when i really wish the NHS could refuse treatment for Covid if they got it, or at the very least charge the b****rs!
  7. My email from the NHS came roughly a week after my six months were up so there's plenty of time... It's not as if it stops working once the six months is up, a few days here or there won't make much difference.
  8. I think that the longest single network is probably in Russia or one of it's minions, they can go for hundreds of miles sometimes! I'd have thought that there were some over China and the Far East that would also be rather long networks! I suspect some European metre gauge tram networks could give it a run for it's money as well! Suffice to say that the Black Country tram network was certainly the longest NG tram network in the UK (by a considerable distance!) which is what I'm sure Melmerby intended to say!

  10. Is it being rebuilt as a single line with the option of lay "heavy rail" alongside? I thought that was the intention, so they could re-instate the section across via Dudley Port to Walsall so SBJ to Walsall service could be re-introduced?
  11. Perhaps because he's out of his depth? (Isn't it "Ole" not "Ollie"?) Interesting set of results this weekend, well done West Ham!

Snowy couldn't care less about fireworks, doesn't even bat an eyelid. Even went out during the noise!
  13. I think the Round Oak Steel terminal to Walsall section of the old South Staffordshire line may be one, I know it's mothballed and thing that includes the track being in place.
  14. I'm a bit puzzled by the "book it" Covid booster and the difficulty of getting it, my daughter just went online last week, checked out the local walk-in centre (same one as where we had our previous jabs) and just went along and got it done, no pre booking, no hassle.
  15. More to the point but won't they be trespassing as well, even if the trains aren't running?
  16. I like the Little Valley beers, bottle conditioned as well!
  17. Is the rear spoiler to smooth out the airflow after passing through the roof bars?
  18. None of my relatives in Australia are called Bruce... Or Sheila come to that...
  19. Have we moved on from the likes of Bernard Manning? I think not. From what I've seen of many stand up "comedians" the more people they can insult and the more swear words they can use the better many people seem to like them. Only the target they aim at has changed and that tends to reflect their personal and modern views.
  20. Bet that's spoilt Alonso's Christmas! Reading the comments is more interesting than the article...
  21. When I visited my local vaccination centre last night I had to queue at all the various stages so it seems round here their still being used a lot! Feeling a bit under the weather today, certainly not well enough to do a safety critical job, so currently off sick for a day or two.
  22. Actually I think they've just quoted from something they've seen internally, that phrase is used all the time by our Control and I suspect it's taken from stuff NR sends out to them. Hence I said it was "railway speak".
  23. I did wonder, but the lack of an emoji made me wonder if you were actually serious!
  24. It just means all lines that go through the level crossing, not the whole country! Railway Speak.
