  1. Before RMWeb had its own version of The Blip, I saved the first three pages of this thread by Cornamuse with the pictures. If you are interested they are here: https://www.evernote.com/shard/s6/sh/82526101-c5c3-4585-435a-c809f6152c0c/1274d95dd9be3206b947ee5cc9db5133 I'll find a way of saving this as a file uploaded to RMWeb in case I stop using Evernote at some point. All the best Andy
  2. Glad to see you back in action! Still very grateful for your help answering that huge list of questions I gave you a while back...and I have made first tiny steps in 16mm scale cardboard rolling stock. Looking forward to more paper cutter and superglue shenanigans. Thanks for sharing where your at. All the best Andy
  3. Hi I've sent you an extract from Hefti's excellent book on Trams where he covers Kitson's and I think re-boilering might be mentioned. This info also includes drawings of a Leeds standard gauge version. The book can now be bought here for an online version: https://play.google.com/store/books/details/HEFTI_Tramway_Lokomotiven?id=hNOcBgAAQBAJ The lovely Wikipedia says on livery: "The rolling stock comprised steam locomotive engines in a crimson livery and Starbuck Car and Wagon Company double-deck trailer cars in cream" https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Birmingham_and_Aston_Tramways_Company However - the picture I have seen seem to show them two-tone = so maybe crimson and cream? http://www.tramwaybadgesandbuttons.com/page148/page4/styled-44/page473.html ....ah, yes...like the Alphagraphix card kit picture I just now looked up! I particularly like http://www.tramwaybadgesandbuttons.com/page148/page4/styled-44/files/mattm_engine-13_edred.jpg All the best Andy
  4. Liking this John. The right hand extension looks good and I like your idea for the left hand side. I've thought many times how to extend that end. Also looked at the view the Scalescenes kit gives you at that end of what is "beyond" and tried to think how to create that. Couldn't really get to grips to that in my mind. Have you extended the two lines to the single track sector plate to give you more capacity in the lines? Ps. I think your OO blown up Template looks better than the o gauge setrack version. Cheers Andy
  5. It was Gordon Gravett's Llandyref. Out and back in 8 x 2 (feet) in O16.5 @NearholmerTell me if you would like a track plan
  6. Hi @Nearholmer When I saw this I also remembered an O16.5 out and back, welsh NG based. I couldn't find it for the life of me last night. Just thought it could be another version of a very similar track plan to add to your thoughts. Maybe someone remembers it? Cheers Andy
  7. Hi Keith As promised over at NGRM here is what I was thinking you could do to create the droplights from layering. Brass Crafters and Plastic Creators look away now! I'm pleased to have had a quick bash with the Bron Hebog method in card...something I wanted to try...just never expected to do it in HOn30 with American outline! (How We Scratchbuild Carriages - BRON HEBOG http://bronhebog.blogspot.com › carriage-building-guide) If you want more details about how I did this I could post a topic. There's things I'd add to the build if I was making the coach (eg: shellacking or super gluing parts of the card, marking spacing for the door frames better, using filler, sanding, etc etc. The point was to show the droplight idea ie: creating them without cutting out rectangles.
  8. Yes - it was. He did Jersey, Welshpool and Llanfair, Rye and Camber and Wantage... There's a bit of chat of about it here too:
  9. Hi Mike Apologies if you have answered this before: - what tiles do you use? Same make as the walling you mentioned before? And - How is the stone walling made? Thanks in advance Andy
  10. Hi All For a manual approach I just found this: Scale Drawings from Photographs By Jim Faing https://www.zelmeroz.com/album_model/drawings/jf_drawings.pdf ...covers photos with parallel and non-parallel sides. Hope this is of help to someone. Andy jf_drawings.pdf
  11. Aha! Thanks Mike. I went to the link. Looks great. Thanks for pointing me to that. I really like the fact that even if you are not full-on modelling you are helping others with passing on what you have learned and your experience. It's a great thing in my opinion and I hope you get some good feeling from it because, personally, I really appreciate it! All the best Andy
  12. Hi Mike All the best with your health and all the medical checks. Difficult stuff in difficult times. As a distraction (and purely for my own selfish knowledge!) could I ask what stone/brick covering you have used on the warehouses and the church? It looks very effective in the pictures. I went through the posts and I couldn't see anything on it. I was probably man-looking. All the best Andy
  13. Dear All Would anybody have a set of instructions for this kit that they could share with me? My father had a kit in his collection. It doesn't have the instructions though. The box says Weald Models and I understand Rodney Stenning continued the production. Any/All help gratefully received. Thanks in advance.
  14. Hi all Would anyone be able to supply me with a copy of pages 2 and 3 of this pamphlet? I recently scanned and gave away my copy from my late Father to clear up the physical clutter. I managed not to scan pages 2 and 3! It's the short "Cardboard Passenger Stock and How to Build it" pamphlet by E. Rankine Gray. Not the larger instruction booklet. Thanks in advance. Andy
  15. Hi Alan - Thanks for your suggestion. Regards.
  16. Hi Jason. Thanks for the reply and the suggestions. Any scale will do. Just looking to get the dimensions to help create a 9mm/ft tramway style coach. It won't be a direct replica. I want to get a feel of the general dimensions and things like the height of the balcony from the rail head and the height between balcony and underside of roof etc, etc.
  17. Would anyone know where i can get a drawing of the original Corris 4 wheel tram coach built by Falcon engineering? Thanks in advance.
  18. Thanks for the reply Good luck with the rest of the loco build.
  19. Hi Cornamuse Of all the rolling stock in 16mm what are kits and what are scratch built? The ffestiniog bogie you've already said is IP Engineering. And one of the slate wagons is a kit. What about the Birmingham and the quarrymens coaches? And if scratch built are you using your card methods for all of them? Thanks in advance...really interested in your thread...
