Curious how this show which is not for another eight months is generating healthy debate and yet the Ally Pally show (same organisers) which is now less than four weeks away has no thread for it at all.
As someone firmly planted on the south coast, the NEC is just that bit too far a trek so for me the Ally Pally show is my main one. I do hope that the new Warnley does not replace any of the other shows in Warners line up like Bristol did replacing Peterborough a couple of years back.
The ending of the Peterborough show was a great loss as it was always a cracking show but sadly all the Warners shows are way out of my range for travelling and I’d given up on the NEC as it was out of my range financially and sadly physically.

I think it’s more Auto corrupt than correct at times Nick

Well hang on there….
first I’ve got to get the crate unloaded
then fix the shed door
plus get the washing in
and round the sheep up!!
then have a cup a tea
and if there’s enough time left conquer the world!
And what’s on your list for after lunch Kevin?

As one of those many souls who for various reasons is unable to get to exhibitions these days and has never seen Lime Street in action the prospect of videos of it to watch is most welcome.
Bob
There are several videos available on You Tube Bob. Just put Liverpool Lime St Model Railway into search.

I always spent a lot of time watching Lime St whenever it was at a show where I was, and I have been in awe ever since I first saw it when it was in its infancy at the East of England Showground. My last viewing was at Warley before lockdown and having worked out where it was in the Hall I made a beeline for it and had quite a bit of time in front of it before the crowds built up.
Gentlemen. Thank you for sharing this masterpiece and for your heroics with taking this on the road. It has been much appreciated.
I wish you and the layout all the best for the next chapter and wait with bated breath for the videos to keep us up to date with developments.

Two cleaners balancing on the buffers with nothing to hold onto, and another precariously balanced on the running plate above the cylinder. The modern day Elf an Sayfdee ofificer would be horrified at these clear breaches of the Work At Height Regulations, and would no doubt provide a proper trestle platform to stand on, with hand rails to prevent falls.
Still in the 1950’s the cleaners were still able to think for themselves and rely on common sense and care to stay safe !
And before the compensation culture had arrived.

Lovely to see this layout’s return. Always think this was one of Andy’s best.
Looking forward to seeing more.

I would think scratchbuilding one of the local buildings would be an interesting exercise.

These lovely little models were delivered this afternoon. Even better, Rails of S. had offset the price with a gift voucher I'd had at Christmas and forgotten all about!
The glaring white roofs will soon go, as will the yawning gap between the vehicles. And after a bit of weathering or toning down I might get around to replacing the wheels with Gibson's.
If I allocate them to the pool of 'shuntable' wagons to appear in Stoke C. yard they'll need further work. They're so free-running that otherwise there'd be no chance of operating them with sub-track uncoupling magnets. They'd just run back to the magnet every time you thought you'd just uncoupled them.
John C.
When I was experimenting with Dapol Ez couplings on one of my N gauge layouts I read somewhere that putting a small piece of foam between the wagon floor and the axle was a way of overcoming this issue. I haven’t tried this myself but just offer it as a snippet of information that someone out there shared

Clearly very well trained seagulls though with such careful and considered placement.

Do I spy activity where the door used to be suggesting something is about to happen, while another “workman” adopts a traditional pose while holding the second door in place?

Give me a pat on the head and send me to stand in the corner of the room in a lighthouse???
Pat on the head! No chance if you’ve been trying all those flat caps on.

So let’s all stay in the mid-1930’s
In my head I am still in my mid 30’s but the old bod is not so easily fooled having reached the life stage that Billy Connolly coined. You know your old when getting out of the chair provokes an “oooooh ya Buddha”

Good job the pump wasn’t despatched in a crate otherwise the WKT would stand no chance of completion.

Careful, don't get to excited now
Only thing to better 4 Panniers is ………… 4 Candles

I used to love it as a nipper when Dad used to let me get up to watch the snooker with him late at night. Always in black and white. Thanks for stimulating the memory recall.
