  1. Looking forward to the show, I had to withdraw last year due to a respiratory bug, so I hope to make up for it. Loaded and ready to go after my friend Dennis sells some of his lambs, the sale is tomorrow. See you there. Alastair.
  2. Burnham loaded and ready to go. Agree with Bob. Alastair.
  3. Only a few more days to go. Burnham is serviced and ready, stock also, just finishing two of Maurice's laser cut cattle trucks, a new learning experience. Alastair.
  4. Burnham loaded and ready to go. Come and say Hello. Alastair
  5. Just finished servicing Burnham, looking forward to the weekend. Always a good show. Alastair.
  6. Home with layout put to bed before 7pm after a very enjoyable weekend. Thanks to the Club for making us so welcome and to the visitors who made such kind comments. The catering was excellent, probably second only to Macclesfield! What better could one get? Alastair.
  7. Just back home. Burnham ran well, as did the other layouts, at least I didn't hear any complaints. Attendance was fair considering the glorious weather and alternative events nearby. Looking forward to tomorrow. An enjoyable show. Alastair.
  8. Weather looks good for the weekend, hope visitors can avoid the queues for Chatsworth Flower Show. Looking forward to seeing old friends---and new!
  9. See their website as posted. Alastair.
  10. Chesterfield Railway Modellers present their annual Exhibition at the Agricultural Centre, Bakewell, DE45 1AH, on Sat and Sunday 9/10 June. There will be 14 layouts in various scales, trade support, Demonstrations and societies. Open from 10am until 5pm both days. See the club website for details, www,chesterfieldrailwaymodellers.co.uk for details. Plenty of parking, refreshments available.
  11. Home in the dry at 10-35 after an excellent weekend. Thanks to our hosts for putting up with us, met a lot of nice people, both the exhibitors and public. The children loved driving Thomas and Percy. Alastair & Dennis (Burnham-on-sea)
  12. Burnham is ready to go, I've just changed my car today and it fits easily in the new (used) one. Looking forward to the weekend, hope the weather is OK for the journey. Alastair.
  13. Hope you all have a good exhibition, sorry I had to withdraw Burnham-on-sea but I'm looking forward to bringing it next year. Alastair.
  14. Luckily for us the High Peak weather favoured us this year. Sorry we've lost the Preston show this year. One year we had 6 inches of snow and were asked by the school to share a snowplough for the car parks but a rapid thaw started mid Friday morning and by 5pm all was cleared. This year it was bitterly cold but movement was no problem. We even got our new floor covering packed up dry. As to our change of venue, as Rex said we were not given an option for that weekend and the school caterers refused to supply us as they would have had higher costs by bringing in staff to prepare during the half-term week. For a first run I think it worked very well. Alastair
  15. Looking forward to another good day, not as cold as yesterday. Layouts ran well, visitor numbers were about the same as last year so we hope for similar today. Traders seem happy! See you there. Alastair.
  16. Glorious cold winter's day, so should get everything in dry. Floor has to be covered and we can't start until 3-30, so it could be a late finish, but the Leisure Centre doesn't close until 10. See you there. Alastair.
  17. Looking forward to meeting you again George. Weather forecast is cold and dry, so we should be OK. Alastair.
  18. Our annual show is next weekend at the Chapel-en-le-frith Leisure Centre, which is on the same site as the High School which we have used for the last 20 or so years. Same post code, SK23 0TQ, same yellow roadsigns, same parking, hopefully with less use by the Leisure Centre. We are open from 10 until 5 on Saturday, and 10 till 4-30 on Sunday. All the exhibits will be in one large hall which is on the ground floor, so no access problems. Refreshments will be supplied by the Leisure Centre. There will be 18 layouts, with plenty of Trade and Demos. Providing the weather doesn't upset things we look forward to having a good weekend and meeting friends old and new. LyttonCPR
  19. Burnham is ready to load, looking forward to meeting old and new friends. Come and say hello, we're stand X. Alastair.
  20. Off to bake again at New Mills. Disappointing turnout yesterday, hopefully more spectators today. Layouts ran well.
  21. Mostly set up, looking quite good. Hope to see some of you there. Alastair.
  22. Sorry, forgot the times. Sat 10 till 4-30, Sunday 10 till 4. Just off to Bakewell to see the show there. Alastair
  23. New Mills and District Railway Modellers are staging their third Summer Show in conjunction with Visit New Mills in New Mills Town Hall, High Peak, Derbyshire, SK22 4AT on Sat 17th and Sunday 18th June . There will be 5 layouts, 4 demos, 2 trade stands, one of which is Dave Denton from SMTF. Light refreshments are available. The hall has disabled access from the rear and is on one floor. Admission is £3.50 for adults, £1 for children, and under 5s are free. Layouts are one each in O, OO, N, and OO-3 rail, and a working Fairground. Alastair.
  24. John, Thanks.. Alastair.
  25. Have you any information on the bus times yet? I don't mind walking but some of my friends are averse to exercise! We're having our usual "boys' day out" from the New Mills club on Monday. Alastair.
