  1. Yes it is a great model and yes they should be proud of making it, I fully agree with both points, its a high quality model and these little problems are annoying but can easily be ignored. One area of concern I do share though is motors, because my mate ordered 6 and 5 of his arrived to his local shop dead. As annoying as that may be I'm sure he got unlucky and not many others have experienced similar issues... Ben
  2. That is a true, albeit unfortunate occurance on Dapol's part, as long as my pair seem alright build wise I will probably invest in the next batch as long as the livery is corrected for the DRS batch, I do fancy 68004 'Rapid'
  3. I think the spotrail and Chiltern liveries have done fine, its just the rather complex DRS livery which is causing issues, either way, I'm not too bugged as I will have two the same, so it wont look too off... Ben
  4. IIRC, that one one of the pre production samples. Ben
  5. However of course, if i am wrong and all is correct, my apologies and I'm open to correction but personally, i believe i see a slight discrepancy in livery application. Ben
  6. Creds to photo owner but for arguments sake here is the other side
  7. Personally, I have no first hand ref pictures as mine haven't came through the door yet, but it can be seen to some extend on rs4's pictures and also on this link http://www.hattons.co.uk/145646/Dapol_4D_022_001_Class_68_68002_Intrepid_in_DRS_livery/StockDetail.aspx .Look at the pictures provided by Hattons and compare to https://www.bing.com/images/search?view=detailV2&ccid=amYrHxOT&id=C8A793CE0B7847BB517A09D3841DB2C3BECC422A&q=class+68+drs&simid=608003590482035466&selectedIndex=140&ajaxhist=0 this and I believe the slight printing issue may become noticeable. Ben
  8. Just seen this comment, they seem to have the majority of the range of 68's up on the system excluding the dcc ready versions of 68002 and 005 which I ordered, even more worryingly they have seemed to have not pushed through any transaction after they said they would automatically do this, hopefully the postman comes through with a big box from KMRC tomorrow...Still looking forward to unboxing these, despite the problems it may carry. Ben
  9. I was gonna say that Bentley Copse is a scout campsite, I have been there many times being an explorer myself lol. Ben
  10. I didn't realise until you pointed it out, it seems as if the printing machine at the factory has mis-aligned the body and has printed too much to one side instead of centrally.
  11. That is dedication to deliver the best product to your customers when the factory cant get it spot on. Ben
  12. Maybe they are selling them nearer RRP then.... Ben
  13. Have Kernow replied mate? I was expecting them today to be honest,,, Ben
  14. This is very true, shouldn't have ever happened in the first place, although it was a tough decision I could imagine, the pressure to deliver what was a much overdue product can cause instances like such, and with the good customer service of Dapol, I'm sure all can be sorted... Ben
  15. Only a handful were affected say Dapol, so I guess the only way to find out is to open them up and judge yourself Ben
  16. Cheers mate, watched the vid and although it had little QC problems here and there, it still looks great IMHO
  17. I reckon because the driver is centrally based in the cab, there is no night mode I guess? However, I'm open to correction on this matter. Ben
  18. Has anyone ordered the 68's off Kernow in DCC ready form, if so have they arrived yet? Ben
  19. Good stuff to know Dave! really looking forward to tracking the progress of this. Two questions still remain and I am wondering if one has already been answered, so apologies if it has, but: 1) After the cut off date which is 05/03/2017, if you have ordered a 92, will it be possible to order another down the line before production? 2) are the pantographs going to sit high like the Hornby example or will there be a method of adjusting it for a lower ride height? Cheers, Ben
  20. Doesnt look too bad and nameplates are a hard thing to get dead on if im honest, but then again im 15... Looks relatively good though
  21. It seems that the plates are factory fitted, was this always the case as I thought they were user fitted....
  22. I will see how my DRS pair are when they arrive, I have ordered both locos and if I can I will try to upload photos also...
  23. Cheers for the info mate, much appreciated
