  1. Hi 9793, The toolboxes will be affixed with two studs on the underside, with locating recesses on the frame. As they are a separately fitted part it should be possibly to carefully remove these, file the locating studs away and relocate these without too much of an issue. Cheers, Dave
  2. Hi both, Dale, H1413 will have a top feed whereas No.1453 did not. H1413 as supplied as No.1444 was a Gloucester loco in the early 1960s, however it did lose its early emblem for a late crest at some point. I can't confirm whether this was before or after its move to Gloucester, although I would hesitate a guess that it took place during its overhaul in 1961 - can one of RMweb's resident Swindon aficionados possibly help here? Another option for you would be buying a H1414 and renumbering as No.1472 which was a Gloucester loco from 1959 until 1964, with the model having the correct details for this. Samuel, we can supply any of the sixteen loco's we're producing with DCC or DCC sound should you wish - both options are present on the ordering page for each item but drop us an email or give us a call if you wish. Cheers, Dave
  3. Hi, J9409 will only be supplied as a lightly weathered loco as displayed above. Cheers, Dave
  4. Hi all, Thanks for the feedback both on RMweb and through other mediums. I'm happy to confirm that CADs have been approved for the first samples to be produced. The three photos were provided to demonstrate the various different tooling options of bogie and body combinations being accommodated in the tooling. There will be more than 3 combinations of body and bogie but this is the minimum number of versions needed to show all on one CAD for review. The correct combinations have been previously specified to Oxford Rail and will be shown on the colour layouts as they are produced by ourselves. The ICI lettering depth (both sizes) has been reduced to a slightly thinner profile but was not as thick as the ribs to begin with, this was an illusion created by the CAD images. The number plates and registration plates are separate parts that are shown on all 3 CADs but will only be fixed to the appropriate wagons. We will update you as soon as we have a date for the first EPs arriving with us. Cheers, Dave
  5. Hi Dale, If you're tempted more by the BR green with early crest, No.1453 was a fellow Gloucester engine that survived in this livery until withdrawal in 1964, if that helps a decision! Cheers, Dave
  6. Hi D, One of the photos of No.1441 in our research material shows it with a top feed and in BR black in 1957, and I understand that this is the condition it spent the majority of its BR life (never gaining a repaint into BR green). On this basis I would suggest ordering H1412 which is fitted with the correct details for No.1441 and will also be characteristically grubby as the BR black locos became in the late 1950s and early 1960s. Cheers, Dave
  7. Hi 9402, H1406 (No.1420) will be produced without top feed and whistle guard as per its late 1940s guise. Cheers, Dave
  8. Hi all, The samples for the following locos J9404 - NCB Peckfield Colliery No.1763 J9409 - Littleton Colliery No. 7 have arrived back from Mercig and after a brief pit-stop in our photo studio are now on their way to China to act as master samples for the finished product. Dave
  9. Cheers for the comments so far guys! I've got to say I can't wait for these hoppers either - I have fond memories of seeing them snaking through Peak Forest in the mid 1990s although I haven't been given permission to remodel our test-track as a Peak District diorama as of yet.... I'm away for a few days from tomorrow so I might not be able to reply immediately but do please keep your comments coming in as the thread will be read by myself and Dave Mylett as and when we can. If you have any pressing queries or info I'd recommend firing over an email or giving us a call. Cheers, Dave
  10. Hi all, Here's images of the final CADs for the ICI Hoppers. As per our other projects we're keen to hear your thoughts on these before starting to cut metal. Cheers Dave
  11. Hi all, We've had the full colour samples for some more of the Austerities dropped off by Dave Jones this morning which have been under full scrutinisation by myself and Dave Mylett. These are the (yet to be) weathered examples which will be heading to Mercig prior to returning to the factory via ourselves and Dave Jones. I did make a point of getting some photos of No.1763 (NCB Peckfield Colliery) and Littleton No.7 after they went under the microscope and the results are below. I personally can't wait to see them with a layer of grime attached...! Cheers, Dave
  12. Hi Colin, Not at all! Although I'm personally not a GWR modeller I'm pretty particular in specific details on my own locos so I know exactly where you're coming from. In a perfect world we'd love to cover every last variation (and build a few to 1:1 scale too!) and although we do have some constraints we're confident that the right differences have been retained across the models to allow them realistic individuality. Cheers, Dave
  13. Hi Colin, The toolboxes varied in position depending on the era of the loco and the actual prototype loco. We have decided to use the most common positions to place the toolboxes on the loco to make tooling as easy as possible and the majority of our releases do match up. We've ensured that the toolboxes are held in place by a small amount of glue and 2 small pips so if you would like to change the position it will be a simple case of unclipping them and filing off the pips then re-glueing in the place which is more appropriate for your prototype. Cheers, Dave
  14. Hi Coppercap, All sixteen locos will have bunkerside access steps and the additional handrail affixed. This is incorrect for No. 5814 (H1402) which was never fitted with steps however due to the setup of the top feed and how the cab is a 'one piece item' this impacts on how the loco has been tooled. While the top feed is a separate part, its connection to the cab results in requiring two differing cab toolings (for top feed fitted & without), resulting in an additional pair of toolings required for locomotives prior to fitting with the bunker steps rather than just one. With the longevity of the livery we felt that we couldn't leave No.5814 out of our release programme however to tool up an additional cab solely for this locomotive ( the other fifteen had bunker steps fitted during some point or all of their time in the guises depicted) and have this potentially cause delays, we decided to cover just those with bunker steps fitted. Cheers, Dave
  15. Hi all, Yep, sorry, another gremlin in preparing the RMweb images. No.1450 will come without a top feed as is accurate for both its preservation guise and as originally in service (and as per the fantastic photo linked to above!) so the outline on our website is correct. I'll get the image in the thread changed. Cheers, Dave
  16. My apologies for missing this one Nigel. I can confirm that H1406 will now be produced without a top feed as per the loco running in the late 1940s. Cheers, Dave
  17. Hi all, Apologies for the late reply however I'm now back at the hub after a few days away so I'm back here to help! To confirm, we'll have spares available for the 14xx however these will purely be for replacement purposes under warranty and not available for separate sale. Cheers, Dave
  18. I'll need to check fully on the King to tell you the truth - it'll be based off prototype photos but I'm not sure if these are 'oily rag cleaned' or just a small amount of dirt. I'm out of the country for a few days now so my replies won't be as frequent, but i'll try and get on here on a few evenings to keep you updated!
  19. We're intending for the lightly weathered examples to be 'oily rag cleaned' as per our sample of J94 68012 of which there's a few photos in the J94 / Austerity thread. As for the heavily weathered examples, these will be modelled as per their final years in service prior to withdrawl. We've got a pile of reference photos of weathered 14xx's here but this one on Flickr has always appealed to me (a 14xx with a Class 1 headcode!) as well as providing a handy visual reference for the level of weathering intended. https://www.flickr.com/photos/david_christie/6216815700/ Cheers, Dave
  20. Well spotted! Apologies, this will be supplied without Top Feed and the images will match this shortly. Thanks for picking that up - its a file saving issue on the website (and RMweb) pictures only. Cheers, Dave
  21. Hi all, With testing of the running sample continuing, Dave Mylett has produced colour layouts for the 14xx's, 48xx's and 58xx's and I have helped him check and verify them all. Full-size versions are available to download from the stock detail pages (linked below each image) and the models can be pre-ordered at https://www.ehattons.com/14xx We're really keen to hear what you think on these! 22. Hi both, yes, you're correct. We're receiving these in batches from Drax, and the second delivery of R6723 and R6724 will be with us shortly. Cheers, Dave
  23. Yes, we've had notification from Drax that stock of both wagons is now on its way to us and will be available for sale (and fulfilment of pre-orders) as soon as it is booked on our system here. Cheers, Dave
  24. Hi all, As promised, I undertook a few haulage tests this morning with the 14xx. It handled 5 Bachmann Mk1s perfectly well but I couldn't resist missing the photo opportunity below - shades of the Dawlish Donkey with 1450 perhaps? Cheers Dave
  25. Hi all, Thanks for all the comments on the latest colour samples, and also to Brian R for the excellent photos of Mountain Ash 8 (Please rest assured that this now has a black tank top as per its post-overhaul state). I'm fully aware of the colour situation and these will be showcased again when further examples are with us which we're working with Dave Jones to ensure the exact shades are as they should be. The release dates for these have been amended on our system alongside the Kings and 14xxs however this is not due to any issues with production, just to provide a realistic release date in order to stem any disappointment. Cheers! Dave
