I’m not quite sure how this works. I was looking at hattons inter web and its doesn’t seem if you can predorder the entire range , just 18 locos including the big pink ?
the others that are coming, is it like crowd funding, only built to the number of orders?

Hi,
Sorry to see the comment about any axleboxes which have come loose in transit. As they have been fitted independent from the bogie frame, they are quite easy to reattach with superglue. I would recommend using a cyanoacrylate superglue. For a full step by step instruction guide, please click HERE.
If any of the axleboxes are missing, or you have any other issues with the model, please get in touch with our helpdesk on 0151 733 3655 or info@hattons.co.uk.
Cheers,
Dave.

Hi Danny,
Pantone and RAL are two systems of specifying colours which are not mutually exclusive.
You can have one colour produced using either system and they will be matches for each other. The matches were attained using Pantone swatches and the real life locomotive.

Dave

Hi guys,
Apologies, that's my mis-step there.
We have used Pantones matched to the Colas colours which have then been approved by Colas Rail themselves.
I've just taken a very quick phone picture showing a comparison between our own 66847 and Bachmann's 37099 which I hope helps.
Cheers,
Dave

Hi Dave,
Thank you for the update on the Class 66s.
I haven't pre-ordered any models as of yet, as I don't with most models and most manufacturers as I wanted to see photos of the production models on your website. I have seen them, although for some reason most seem to have been removed now but I am questioning if the orange, yellow and black are the correct pantone colours on the Colas Rail 66847 & 66848 models. To my eyes upon inspecting the photos the black does look correct but the yellow looks too bright and the orange too dark for Colas Rail. However this could just be the lighting. I am considering buying both of these models so please could you confirm if the three main colours on the livery specifically match the pantone colours and that these colours are not just matched to the closest RAL colours?
Thank you very much in advance and Merry Christmas!
Kind Regards,
Danny.
Hi Danny,
Thanks for your questions. I can confirm that we have matched to the correct pantones for the Colas colours as well as to the real locos themselves.
We were fortunate enough to have access to 66847 as part of the sound recording process.
I hope this helps and Merry Christmas to you too!
Cheers,
Dave

Morning all,
As some of you have noticed, we've received the air freighted Class 66s and our team have been working through the night to get these packed up ready for despatch.
If you received an email overnight with your tracking information then they'll be picked up by Royal Mail or DPD today and I'd expect your tracking to start working from early afternoon when the packages start to progress through the delivery networks.
We've got a small amount of pre-orders left to process this morning which we're just about to start working through and we'll then focus on getting these packed and out the door to you all today as well.
Thanks everyone for your patience and I hope you all enjoy your models.
Cheers,
Dave

Does anyone know how to access a list of all the functions the Class 66 will have, especially the lights, I have downloaded the manual but it has minimal info about what functions do what. Hattons live chat is anything but this morning (probably busy post Warley) . I have two sound 66s on order and would like to programme my controllers beforehand if possible.
Morning 7013,
We've got a separate instruction manual which is dedicated to sound and lighting functions which you can access on the Class 66 Project Page.
Both manuals will also be included in the box as well.
I hope this helps.
Cheers,
Dave

Hi guys,
Following some discussion about the A4s on the thread recently, I just wanted to clarify a couple of issues.
Some of you have identified a missing handrail on the Class A4. This is indeed missing but unfortunately it is too late to rectify this on the production models.
Other issues have been raised such as boiler seams and running issues with the valve gear. I want to assure you that this a not a project-wide issue and isolated cases such as those will be dealt with by our returns department, which you can get in touch with on info@hattons.co.uk.
Cheers,
Dave

@Hattons Dave, have you widened the quarter-lights? Not possible to tell from the passenger brake vans!
Hello Compound2632,
We certainly have, they've been adjusted as you previously suggested.

Are you considering 4-wheel full brakes also?

Andy.
Hi Andy,
We're not looking at 4-wheel full brakes for the time being, just the 6-wheelers for now.
I hope this helps.

Hi guys,
Project Genesis is now one month into production and we’re pleased to see so many people inspired by our new coaches.
Your feedback has aided the design of the coaches, from our initial designs that were shown on the launch day. We have iterated through 5 evolving designs to reach a stage where we are happy that we have addressed all of the feedback received and are confident the product will be the most realistic coach we can make.
These 2D drawings will now be turned into 3D CAD files that will show all of the details which we are putting into these coaches. This will take a couple of months but we will keep you informed as the project continues to develop.
One of the most requested features was the addition of Full Brake coaches to the range and we are very happy to reveal that these types of coaches are now available to pre-order, HERE.
Full Brakes were popular during the time these coaches ran, as many passengers carried copious amounts of luggage when they travelled. Also, some goods could be transported on passenger trains if they were needed in a hurry, for example - newspapers or milk, so most trains would have had a full brake. As the vehicles were replaced in passenger service, the full brakes got a new lease of life with the engineers of the railway companies as tool or storage vans. This helped a lot of them to survive far longer than the passenger coaches, with one even lasting in service until the 1980s!
Finally, one livery not included in the initial plan has been requested more than any, LB&SCR. This has also now been added and can be pre-ordered HERE, to run with the new Hornby Terrier or any of the other great LB&SCR locos available. These will be available as part of Batch 2.
For more information about the full range of Genesis coaches and to pre-order, click HERE

Dave

Afternoon all,
A huge thanks to everyone who has contributed to this thread - your views are much appreciated.
Thanks to @Compound2632 great work in showing the panelling sizes and other dimensions, as well as his new overall dimension suggestions.
We have added 2 feet to the 4-wheel coach which gives more appropriate compartment sizes and is a lot more ‘prototypically literate’.
I have updated all drawings to show the latest style.
We feel we have now captured the coaches as best as we can, incorporating as many different companies ‘styles’ as possible without veering too far into one design.
As always we would like feedback on any changes you think would improve them.

There has been some discussion regarding the various differences in roof furniture, wheels and braking equipment so I've put together a detail matrix for the liveries included in Batch 1.
I hope this helps.

Afternoon all,
As Richard said yesterday, I have been making notes and looking into suggestions that have been made since we last updated the drawings.
With some of the changes taking a while to copy over the multiple types, I have just updated the 6 wheel Brake Third in order to show the changes, once we have some feedback I will then roll it out over the other body types.
Changes/additions include:
Increased depth to the top and waist panels
Droplights added
Bolections on quarter lights added
Sides and roof now fit over the ends
Guards door added in addition to the luggage doorsGas and Electric lights have also been added in more detail with the gas pipe, tank and electrical boxes shown where appropriate
I've also got a dimensioned view of the brake third to give you a good idea of the major dimensions of the coach.
I hope this helps.
Cheers,
Dave

Hi all,
Here's a look at the proposed six wheel full brake that we've designed.
We propose to add 2 full brakes (with different running numbers) to each livery already announced.
Again, we'd love to hear feedback on this as it is always useful.
