  1. I wasn’t going to post this…however….I would like to get it out there as an example of the kind of thing we have been talking about. Many decades ago my youngest brother was attacked in the early hours of the morning in Gotham City, whilst walking with his girlfriend. The completely unprovoked attack was by two herberts that used a Newcastle brown bottle to smash him over the head, from behind, cutting his head badly. He fell to the ground and received a reasonable booting. Mostly to the head. They also punched his girlfriend in the face a few times for good measure. This was witnessed by 30 or so people at relatively close range. His girlfriend managed to summon help from some very kind people in the street and they used a nearby house holders phone to ring 999. A hour or so later a couple of bobbies on the beat two streets away, spotted two herberts fitting the descriptions, gave chase and nicked them. The remains of the bottle used in the attack was actually gathered and used as evidence. After hospital treatment with stitches to his head etc etc, my brother, his girlfriend and a dozen or so people gave statements to Gotham’s finest and due process started. Three months later the herberts were up in court and were found not guilty. But were charged with possession of illegal substances, one with intent to supply. They claimed that they were high and had no recollection of any such event and ran away from the cops only because they were carrying drugs. They were found guilty of the drugs charges, after which their previous convictions were read out. Both had previously been convicted multiple times of violence, using weapons and a string of other associated violent type crimes. So to be clear, these two got off based on what they were advised to do. To get them off. This assault had a huge psychological and physical affect on my brother. And may or may not have contributed to him taking his own life just two years later. I have little if any trust or faith in our justice system. One of the poor coppers told my dad in confidence after the trial, we know it was them and we know that they did I it. But they are in the last chance saloon and ‘money’ has been thrown at this to keep them out of prison. He was so apologetic, I could see in his face the frustration and anger he genuinely felt. The best example I can think of, of abuse of the system is the Guinness trial, that of Ernest Saunders. The only person to have fully recovered from full blown Alzheimer’s disease.
  2. May I suggest that you go and check your back garden for anything vaguely resembling aircraft parts, that wasn’t there yesterday ….just in case they didn’t quite put enough Duck Tape on that particular one.
  3. Defence lawyer. “My client has no recollection of the event, as at the time he was, and I quote ‘Tripping bals on a cocktail of alcohol, meth, coke, PCP, curly fries and Love Hearts, as well as him forgetting to take his medication to counter previously diagnosed drug psychosis and resultant multiple personality disorders’, in short Mlud, and with respect (respek for those in sarff Lundin), the defence submits that unless the prosecution can identify exactly which one of his personalities he was at the time, then it is a case of mistaken identity for the other 53. And further more the fact that all 54 people involved in the alleged incident do all in fact have distinctive green and purple facial tattoos, this is mere coincidence. And one last thing Mlud, my client would also like to add that if in fact he was the personality at the time, it is not his fault as he was fed too much L.D.C. as a child and has flash backs… and everything….. er….the defence rests”…… …..stunned silence…..
  4. 😁 I genuinely didn’t know that, thank you for explaining it. And I am not being sarcastic, as I have said before, that’s part of what I love about ERers, every day is a school day. It is like a league of Gentlefolk here, we are brimming with knowledge, skills and experiences from lives lived. The outcome of that incident was that they banned the used of fluorescent tubes above such machines.
  5. So sorry @Hroth, it is the bleedin auto correct prodicktive texting thingy that I am always having problems with. That was meant to read…..”for the greater goat!”
  6. ok then…. and if you will all please excuse the pun, as it is first come, first served. @iL Dottore you are the Shadowy Minster for Food and Health. Although on top of your ministerial duties you may also be called upon help other departments, with your wide experience and expertise…for the greater good as it were.
  7. I take it that collectively we are happy with the natural choice for the Shadowy Minster for Fish, Whelks and related folk culture? How about it @Smiffy2?
  8. Ah….so if I am getting the subtext of your post correct @iL Dottore …we don’t have a reconstructed Bear then?
  9. I’d love to see their railway system…
  10. We would probably need the use of a fleet of private jets or trains, which ever is the most suitable for any given trip. Obviously the trips being utterly vital for research and fostering good relationships in foreign parts….and definitely not for holidays and lounging around the place etc. It goes without saying that the respective family members and even in some cases extended family members would be eligible to accompany on such trip, as they would probably be employed as consultants in UKShadowyNepotism.Shadowy.Gov.UK
  11. Wonderful …..Would you accept a remuneration package of say £50 million a year tax free padded into off shore accounts, with other additional benefit packages available upon request?
  12. Yeah for now….but maybe if CC can be appointed as the head of UK wide Law Enforcement and Behavioural Correction Agencies, we might begin to see an improvement in the situation?
  13. Ooooooooo and I nearly forgot….my chicken house needs refurbishing….the cost is 58 grand, I’ll claim it against expenses….
  14. What you mean like ‘Ripping it’” out of the government, by subjecting them to a relentless onslaught of factious remarks and tirades, whilst as the same time pronouncing constant completely over the rainbow fantasies about how much better we could do it…if we were in power….. oooooooooooo what a novel concept, I don’t think that I have ever seen that happen in the House of Liars before……sorry I meant to write Commons but my fingers just would let me do it. Mmmmmm….yep I’m in! Sounds like it could be a bit of laugh. So now we just need to recruit Shadow Ministers for the various roles. May I humbly put my self forward as Shadowy Minister for Ale Testing, Railways, Munitions and Scandinavia? With a 10 year tv film deal for the latest Red Dwarf remake tv show.
  15. Mate you defo could work from home….at least as far as our ERers Government Environment Minister is concerned…if we can get someone to take up the role……..form an orderly que please. 😆
  16. Really sorry Chimpy mate…l meant to write AFL….not ARF..
  17. Oooooo just had a thought….if the ERers were to be elected as a government, what roles would be suited to certain individuals? Poly Bear..Minister for Food? (Notice I didn’t use the ‘C’ word or the ‘C.F’ words or the ‘P’ word) Chimpy …Aussie Cultural Attaché to UK. Expert on Utes, Deadly Creatures and ARF… any thoughts……. CC…Head of Corrective Enforcement Agencies ….
  18. Could be a vote winner..but obviously not with the afore mentioned scrotes, their lawyers, and other dubious gits that benefit from maintaining the current state of affairs.
  19. Doc is there any chance that by the next general election we could see if a ‘friend’ of yours might consider bidding for a UK wide law enforcement contract?
  20. 🎵…you take a big tall tree and a short piece of rope….🎵 …..as the song goes….. result …ta da ……100% rehabilitated!…with no chance of reoffending.
  21. We have er ‘Helpers’ for that. Sadly as Babs passed away, so we now only have the two now….one of which (Bunty) was caught this morning as she flew up on to the neighbour’s fence. Using the feed bin as a staging post. So following this bid to explore ‘The New World’ she has had her flight feathers trimmed on her port side. Which, although she will never realise, is a life saver, as my neighbour’s Jack Russel ‘Betty’ would love a new chicken shaped play mate. Chicken shaped for about 5 seconds if she did make it over the fence.
  22. Doc I could not agree more. As a shooter from the age of 10, (obviously under close supervision at that age) I have seen first hand the effects of a ‘through and throughs’….on for example to a fox. Using a 5.56 expanding ammunition, say a 120 grain ballistic tipped round, at say 150m, it can easily leave an exit wound of 75mm. This will massively depend on it not hitting or fragmenting by hitting bone and the major damage to organs and nerves etc on route. Hydro shock from the round can stop the heart, particularly at close range. Military boat tailed rounds will pass through and through, generally doing less damage. Which is why under the Haig convention they are designated military ammo. As such in the UK the use of expanding ammunition is forbidden in warfare. However it is mandatory when used for pest / vermin control and game / deer hunting etc. The only exception to the above is Armed Response by Law Enforcement.
  23. the second one is the most scary….makes me feel sick. https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=&ved=2ahUKEwjgurSAr-SEAxWg8bsIHahaAXAQtwJ6BAgYEAI&url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.youtube.com%2Fwatch%3Fv%3Dm0xmSV6aq0g&usg=AOvVaw07bkoJNDMyzuP9CssrN0WF&opi=89978449
  24. Or (painting the picture) the trainee office junior walking through the timber mill with all the deafening noise of the saws and machines running, and a fluorescent strip light above a surface planner without a crown guard fitted, operating at exactly the same frequency as the 6000 rpm cutter block. Ready… Result it looks like it the machine isn’t running and the cutter block appears to be stationary. So he wipes the dust off of the top of the in feed bed and the old square cutter block takes his arm in. It was the industry equivalent of a Hammer Horror film….and they eventually banned it. Too upsetting.
  25. Landy Defender…..Which I might add I should be getting some kind of tax break on, as basically it is becoming greener by the day, by virtue of the fact that small amount of rust particles and bits of rust drop off it as it bombs around the place. Even more drops off every time I slam the doors. Probs weighs at least a few kilos lighter than when I first bought it.
