  1. Landscape still available on certain Sky channles but this clip is no longer shown since they went HD. Still have a recording of it on my planner.
  2. Hope its actually about the railway and not "staged" scenarioes about the lines neighbours like RA was.
  3. Some info gathered today from Mr Fleet Engineering Manager himself...... . First internally refurbished sleeper day coach was due out this week but will now be out in 4 weeks time. First sleeper coach due late august, £20,000 PER BERTH spent !! It also now looks likely that in july, the DfT will sign off the plan for 2+4 HST sets to be used instead of the 158s now late cascaded from IEP for the 2018 twice an hour timetable upgrade from Penzance to Plymouth with AT300s continuing to London as planned. The sets will have sliding doors (built as an end module and then fitted) and CET and will be used for at least the length of current franchise. They should be green ! Everything else as planned. Usual Maisy Day Pathfinder DB 66 tomorrow.
  4. Theyve done our depot. Bang goes the tomatoes....... . SLEP 10616 is belived to have gone for repaint but have to check.
  5. Must i really see shots of fellow staff when im on holiday...... please keep to trains !!!!!!!!!! Just catching up, if we were to hire 68s on the CNR, all staff would have to be retrained, including fitters and the rebuild of Long Rock would not happen as most of the new equipment is for 57s, we shall be their allocation not OC. Franchise contract for DRS hire runs out 2019 and our 57s can cope well enough. Because its a small fleet on a high profile service, no matter what hauls it, if something happens no matter how trivial, it will go through the mass media. And get rewiring for 43s out as well, despite considered for part of refurbishment plan, too old and expensive and locos required elsewhere. apparently misseds a nice Colas 37 in PZ...... .
  6. Lovely Orange Tip shots. still no appearance of one this far west this year. Only saw first Speckled Wood yesterday..... !
  7. Heads up everyone...... . DRS 68 017 left Exeter 1022 today, fri 28, for Penzance training...... .
  8. As an employee, tons of stuff ! Ranging from the common GWR tresspass on the back wall to Class 43 defect books including 43002. Loft full of paperwork stored as its too soon to sell !
  9. W43002 has been on the up Hind most days this week. 0505 ex PZ. First of the summer saturday 57 LHCS locals runs tomorrow...... .
  10. SLEP 10563 is the latest coach back from repaint. Final plans published for new depot buildings and contractor now appointed. Oh; and we think summer has got here......... !
  11. With the recent shots, who'd have thought double head purple locos look good with choc/cream stock...... !! I know, not strictly choc/cream but hey; good photos.
  12. CORRECTION. Having been fed false info whilst off work, 57604 has NOT been repainted yet. wrists have been slapped. Update, 603 should be at SPM open day...... .
  13. Final 57 to be repainted this cycle, 604 is now back and still in traditional GWR style. Should be at SPM open day.
  14. OK. I knew the hanging bouys would cause comments..... . They are for roads 4 and 5 only for use with Voyager stableing. Long Rock is way behind other depots in some aspects, one of which is access steps. Not really a problem HST stock as there are steps fixed to the bogies. With 220/221s however, the only outside steps are at the cab ends meaning difficult to drag cleaning equipoment etc through the train. After many years of moaning, exterior access steps have been ordered and will be placed where the doors line up. Why i dont know and it seems daft but the dimensions of the steps are such that drivers will have to stop exactly in thge right place. Yes signs are already there and have been used for years........ . My thoughts are the same as yours on that !!!!
  15. Tonight's up Riviera will be the first time it departs PZ ALL green livery. Though not normal formation. 604 on front. In yard this afternoon should anyone want a shot.
  16. Only S.Torts and a Peacock to report from down here so far. And people think Cornwall's all sun and warmth !! Looking forward to making efforts to see an Orange Tip this year as didn't see one last year.
  17. After a quiet spell, something to report from Long Rock. SLEP 10534 back from repaint. Back to sleep now.........zzzzz .
  18. Slightly ot but today saw the formal end of RNAS 771 Squadron SAR at Culdrose, Helston due to privatisation. Your services will be missed by many. Thank you.
  19. Thanks. Hate it when modern tech lets u down through nobody's fault. And I think I can now post photos, not that Long Rock's lighting and sun angles are any good ! Was forced to join another forum but this one deals with real stuff not politics or speculation and apart from a prototype bus/coach section, has everything. A thank you to admin and such there ! Glad to be back.
  20. Hello everyone - again ! After being locked out of my own account again for technical reasons, I have finally managed to open a new account after quite a few attempts as verification mails were not received regardless of various new email accounts ! Anyhow yes 310 is back with us and did a solo run yesterday as 605 tried eating a tree last week as did the up Hind. Pic on my Flickr stream. It was said yesterday at a local meeting that our first internally refurbished sleeper coach won't now be with us until June st the earliest..... ,however work should start straight after Easter on the depot rebuilding.
