  1. Hi - I'm the guy who made this model and I'd very much appreciate it if you didn't just re-texture my models without asking for prior permission, especially seeing as this was a commission model as well. I'll kindly ask you to stop using my model if you're going to show it in this re-textured state. Thank you.
  2. Fair enough - I wasn't too sure if the pre-fitted chips and speaker were removable or not. Either way, my club has a DCC circuit so I might end up leaving it in. I was more annoyed because of the very distinctive price difference for something I wasn't fussed about - but then Hatton's put it up for a much cheaper price so I'm not complaining any more, haha
  3. Slightly annoyed that Maude seems to be being sold as DCC only - I might have to end up taking the plunge just because of this one model...
  4. I've done a bit of kit bashing for stock in the past - but I'm starting to produce my own kits with the magic of 3D printing, now that Shapeways have reduced their shipping it's a lot more affordable. A loco of my own design, based on Avonside's work, only cost me £28 for the body shell with around £4 postage - another £20 for the LYR Pug Chassis and I had a completely custom loco for about £50 inc. paint I'll probably put some up for public sale at some point if I make them and they look the part.
  5. Yet another younger generation of modeller, 19 y/o, agreeing 100% with this post. I cannot be bothered with modern stuff, it's boring as all hell - same with the wave of BR Black steam locos, give me some Big Four and DEFINITLEY more pre-grouping models - I'd especially love to see the L&YR get some more love, Bachmann's Class 5 is excellent and one of my favourite models in the L&YR livery. Every other person I know, via my local club and personal friends, who models that is around my age has this same view as well - we all want more pre-grouping and Big Four liveries, less modern and less BR!
  6. So, with this change of plans looks like there's no longer any 16" Barclay with the square windows now at the front? If so that's ruined my plans - I get why you've changed it and it's great you're taking feedback as well, but will there be a 16" variant with the different cab type?
  7. Yeah, they'll probably be doing Midlander pre-rebuild, seeing as that's what Rusty is. In other news - Rheneas has been on display at a toy fair the past few days, first pictures of him. Apparently shipping at the end of March.
  8. There's been a couple of pictures of the Rheneas popping up from a toy fair in American that's been on the past few days - no close ups sadly, just these two. Apparently shipping out at the end of March - Bachmann have also now announced a Rusty for the range as well.
  9. Ah! I was reading it wrong - I only thought that the ridge was cut, didn't realise the track was laid too! I didn't notice the "Knapford was now a junction" until properly reading, my bad completely! Was also due to the page name saying "1906" - didn't realise you were operating different time periods. On the note of No.1 - he 100% wouldn't be seen in the Elsbridge area until the extension was underway/completed in 1925. From reading the book, you can gather that two of the four coffee pots survived until 1951 - latest being 1956 operating the tramway, No.1 being used on occasion (One of these being the 1951 police incident). It's great to see more people interested in pre-NWR days, always found the 3 companies quite interested - especially how the S&M had lost all their locos by 1901 yet somehow survived till the amalgamation in 1914.
  10. Can I just say, I'm bleedin impressed with all this - immaculate work so far! May I be a tad pedantic though and say that the Wellsworth & Suddery wouldn't of got running permissions to Elsbridge until 1912 - even then the new line connecting the Wellsworth & Suddery Railway and the Tidmouth, Knapford & Elsbridge Railway wouldn't be completed until they were both amalgamated into the North Western Railway along with the defunt Sodor & Mainland Railway. Other than that little detail - which I don't really have a problem with at all, just pointing it out - I honestly can't wait to see the final outcome of this!
  11. Hi, I'm probably a bit out of the loop here regarding changes but I was interested in H1406. Originally when I first saw the listing on Hatton's, around February, it had a Top Feed, Tall Whistle Guard, AT box and Auto-gear as stated on the front page in this image . I'm now a little disheartened to see H1406 no longer has any of these features as it was the exact variant of the locomotive I was looking for. The only thing is now that non of the GWR liveried locomotives have any of these features together, I'm going to have to resort to a BR green one and I do not trust myself completely repainting a loco of this price - I'm fine with number changes and lettering alterations but not full on repaints. Is there any reason why this was changed or is it simply a new variant to fill the gap since the original sold out? Cheers.
