  1. Some weekend work in progress for both the backscene, ballasted the track and been working up this GER full brake for Smithfield!
  2. Those look great Keith, I have to admit i am a sucker for open windows a lot of my coaches all have open top lights, i think it adds some visual interest and detail to the models personally!
  3. Thanks Andy i'm working on it ;)
  4. I thought I would build a little backdrop board to make photographing my O gauge models a little more interesting, plus I felt like modelling something a little different also! Still very much work in progress, and I have yet to decide what colour ballast to use, if anyone has an ideas I would be grateful? Currently i'm thinking grey, but with some washes to help tone it down a little! Walls are 3d printed on the creality ender 5 plus, and the signal box is based on Crawley, and older model I 3d printed a while back and had kicking about. It still needs finishing, with an interior, glazing and some weathering, but I figured I would incorporate it into the little scene to add a bit of visual interest to the scene!
  5. I certainly will need to fit a decoder sir thank you :)
  6. I know, but in reality that cab roof wouldn’t be white for long! Once I have done some weathering tests on my earlier j69 I will attempt it on this! It is way too clean right now!
  7. Been a while since I posted anything! House moving malarkey is getting nearer and nearer! however in the meantime building this little baby onto a Dapol O gauge Terrier chassis has been keeping me saneish! Great Eastern Railway E22 or J65 if you prefer your LNER/BR eras! taken on Smithfield the clubs layout!
  8. Update on the Smithfield station facade! lots of modelling still to do, especially inside the building ! We are hoping to model a partly cutaway station with ticket halls, waiting rooms, and I couldn't resist adding a Victorian Gents in one of the side wings!!! I have lots of extra bits to model including furniture, fireplaces, toilets/urinals, stairs, ticket offices etc! The floors are going to be made from coffee stirrers for floorboards, and joists. The roof will need some figuring out, but so far this building is in 3 parts, the roofs will add a further 3 sections, and all the interior details will be resin printed so as to get better detail, whilst this shell will be FDM
  9. Thank you although i got some much needed help from my fellow club members notably @thegreenhowards Who suggested the N7 in the first place be a good fit for the Dapol jinty chassis, and who helped get the chassis and body to fit so thanks Andy
  10. Agreed Ian I think some weathering is needed down the line sir :)
  11. I realised i never did post any progress on this thread! Almost finished except a sound chip, and a bit of subtle weathering to take the brightness down a bit! Picture taken the club tonight on Smithfields!
  12. Haha no you chaps crack on Nick! im enjoying the sharing of knowledge and ropey Banter ;)
  13. Thanks guys just looked at that link you sent magmouse, very useful, what thickness would you recommend for 7mm rope .25 or .50 ? Cheers
  14. Its been too cold to do any printing lately so been working on this GER Machinery Wagon or Mac K in LNER days, seen here with an attempt to create a Thresher machine as a load. @thegreenhowards I will draw the line at 3d printing the rope used to hold this onto the wagon ;)
  15. Well spotted sir! It is indeed the J65 or E22 has I will be building it! As for printing so did I, but the printing of the station facade using the large FDM printer has generated enough warmth to keep the studio heated apparently and she printed very well. I will bring it along to the club tonight for a gander!
  16. Mike when I grow up I want to be like you sir ;) As always your models are bloody lovely thanks for sharing :)
  17. Thanks Bill as ever extremely kind sir, if that is ok I would be very grateful thank you
  18. I stick my build plate on my fdm printers build plate and warm it up that way! If you have an fdm printer it is a quick way of heating up the build plate as I find they get too cold in the winter months, and as mentioned can have a cooling effect on the resin when submerged into the resin! I need to look into heating as its pain not being able to print consistently over the winter months! Njee20 you heat the vat as well with a heat gun, im wondering if I can whack that on the creality ender 5plus build plate as well to heat it up, though I think the anycubic vats aren't metallic, and may not hold the heat as well!
  19. I think you could be right Steve, I need to look into how to achieve that finish, as It could easily go horribly wrong mate ;)
  20. Managed to make a bit more progress on the only ever N7 to carry the Great Eastern blue livery, number 1001 in 7mm! Not quite finished as I still have to fix the cab roof as I'm leaving it loose until I decide whether or not to put a crew in the cab or not! I still have to order some real coal for the bunker at the back, and I need to touch up the lining in places, as well attempt to line the wheels! I also need to add some 3 link couplings to the loco and some subtle weathering to tone down some of the bright metals a bit! I'm wondering whether to be brave enough and have ago at weathering this loco, any thoughts?
  21. thank you Andy, she will yes indeedie :)
  22. Update n the N7/L77 in GER blue, lining almost finished, I have the boiler bands to finish off, and front end of the tanks to finish off, and steps not shown here. I will then varnish up to seal in the lining, and start to assemble the multitude of detail parts on this baby! Crazy amounts of small components to add, just some of which I have placed for the quick photo update, so not glued in place yet!
  23. Is that his formal name Bill the Bish! ;) It is a fantastic looking bit of architecture well done sir for saving it!
  24. Now for something completely different, and super enjoyable to back to do some architecture again, something I have always loved working on! So we are starting work on Smithfields station, and this first piece will be one of a set of components that will all fit together to create a station at the end of our terminus station on Smithfield! Inspired by the architecture of Denmark Hill station, and Battersea Park Station! Also a massive thank you to Bill Bishop who kindly suggested Denmark Hill, and grabbed a whole heap of photos so for us to model from so thanks Bill, I will post some progress as I go along!
