  1. A pair of LBSCR single bolsters in 7mm, not yet finished need to do some weathering to finish these off properly!
  2. Excited to see how your saddle tanks turn out Steve
  3. Cheers me too Andy, for your later version i need to do an alternative roof without the arch, and a slightly amended westinghouse pump that sits further forward on the boiler. Technically the dome is a little further forward as well if i remember rightly but i will see how noticeable that looks.
  4. Lets see how she prints Finally starting the L77 project in 7mm
  5. Yes you are probably right Andy maybe Brass be better, but i might have a go at seeing if i can do it ;)
  6. Since getting back from my short break in sunny Budapest im now finishing the CAD files for these GCR implement wagon, and twin implement wagon, im still wondering whether to model the chains holding the boiler down on the twin implement wagon or not! GCR 20ton Implement Wagon and Twin Implement wagons with Boiler load
  7. Thanks for posting I agree I think for 4mm this program would work okish but for the larger scales the detail isn’t there! I need to look at make human not had a chance to yet! It’s getting the attire/clothes for the characters I want which is the issue! Sadly they don’t really cater for the Victorian/Edwardian period! :(
  8. Hey Simon it be lovely to see some of your finished printed work on this thread that you have been referring to? cheers Rob
  9. Thought I would post some of my Ally Pally pictures from Saturdays trip! I have to say a huge thank you to the BRM guys you folks put on a cracking exhibition, I honestly came away super inspired by the fantastic array of layouts there. Obviously my all time favourite being Norwich Central and the first time I got to see it in the flesh, what a stunning layout, Peter and his team have made something quite magical, the stock was inspiring and such a beautiful combination of liveries with the GER and M&GN complimenting each other. Copper Wort as well beautifully conceived and built, filled with frame after frame of cameo's and interesting little scenes to keep the visual interest! Plus the standard of model building was stunning, along with the very lovely Plumpton Green just to mention a few of the fantastic layouts. Thank you to all the exhibitors and folks behind the scenes putting this together I was truly inspired by my visit and now thinking I would like to start planning my own exhibition layout for some time in the future! just a few of my personal favs from the day
  10. Verts are around 70k, I just knocked this one up playing around with the background I have noticed that gradients seem to work a little better, and finding the best contrast for the background to the figure. For instance if the figure is darker at top make the gradient lighter, at the top, and bit darker at the bottom! Still not bang on, the right hand on this little chap is a bit dodge but i can perhaps rub that down a bit we shall see or continue to try and buff out in zbrush!
  11. Haha me too chap, exactly what I am after Victorian and Edwardian figures so happy to let you have any figures that come out good sir? Perhaps we could set up some kind of figure dump for folks who don't mind sharing their meshes for others to potentially use :)
  12. First attempt, with image straight from google Image from google Then I thought what if i change the background colour a bit, and levels in photoshop to see if i can get a better result! Image after slight manipulation darking levels and adding a darker background to help push the contrast between the figure and the background hoping to get a better read for the model Slightly more detail comes through now around the hands as you can see, but still missing some geometry which is annoying so I thought I would try a bit more image editing to see if it helped. I put in a slight gradient in the background, and coloured the sleeves to help make them more readable i hope? image amended slightly And then finally we are getting more detail to the figure I think i might keep this one, see if I can clean her up slightly in Zbrush and have a go at printing her at 7mm
  13. Haha not wrong Andy I think i may need to start 3d printing more of me!! Speaking of which I been finishing off this little 3plk with a spot of weathering
  14. Ohhh this is exciting, i need to get looking at this pronto then as I would be keen to print some Edwardian figures in 7mm for the club layout
  15. Hi Stephen Thanks some good points, I will look to get some kind of visual catalogue together, however as I'm currently going through my 3d model wagons, and i am adding more detail to get them up to a higher level of detail, especially for 7mm. So I wouldn't expect all of of them to be available very soon, plus I know Gary has a hell of lot of stuff he has already in the pipeline, and I imagine he will have to test print them all first, which is a huge undertaking bless! But I will try and work up what I have, and get it working all in 4mm, and then later on all being well 7mm eventually through Gary. As for making STL files available I'm probably going to see how this goes firstly. NBR carriages are definitely something I want to model up, they are very beautiful carriages, but I need to finish the GER N7, and then the 7mm GER/LBSC coaching stock, along with updating, adding and detailing of the LSWR 6 wheel stock I which I promised to do as an experiment with Bill of LSWR association, after which im hoping to tackle the LNWR stock, plus potentially work on a J65 to sit on my newly acquired 7mm Dapol Terrier chassis! Oh and after visiting Ally Pally on saturday chatting with those lovely folks on Norwich Central I feel really inspired to start planning and potentially building an exhibition layout! But perhaps this is a tad ambitious! Cheers Rob
  16. A pair of LBSC Diagram1368 5 plank wagons finished in 7mm ready for the club layout. Though looking at this I need to finish painting the strapping inside! These will have loads! CAD below for comparison! I have painted the iron work black on these even though they where the last round ended opens built for the LBSC, but for some reason they are shown in this livery in the southern wagons railway volume 2 so figured they looked pretty good and I would go with that :) The wagon in the background is a my next project a GCR Fish van, and I hope to be adding to the GCR stock soon with some extra stuff.
  17. Thanks Schooner for the kind words. I hope so really looking forward to finally getting some of this stuff out there if not all of it one day :)
  18. Just finished getting these two STL's ready in 4mm for this set of LBSC Ballast wagons/brake for the lovely Mr Bluelightning aka Gary. Hopefully he will be printing these in his fantastic shop so do get in touch with him if they might tickle your fancy! If there are any other of my wagons folks might be interested in 4mm please ping Gary and let him know, and we can try and sort it out :) LBSC Ballast wagon 1754 LBSC 4 wheel Ballast Brake 1758
  19. Had a cracking time down at the South East O gauge group this afternoon, and got to see some lovely stock running around their impressive test track! I also managed to test out the 8 wheel GNR brake and i'm super chuffed to say she runs pretty good for a basic sliding pair of axles underneath!
  20. That is good Phil thanks chap, i will take a gander thank you
  21. That made me chuckle when put like that Giles none of us are ever gunna get rich making trains!!! Good job its a passion and not a livelihood :) PS. I still would love to see some of this huge collection printed, proof is in the pudding! :)
  22. I have found anycubic resin to be pretty good personally, you do have to dial in your settings but when you do it is super cheap at aliexpress also making it a bit less than 20 squid a kilo, i tend to buy in batches of four you get through a lot when printing in 7mm :(
  23. You been a busy chap, some lovely prints, and yeah i agree the Mono X is a cracking machine and a workhorse im considering the 8K version.... gawd knows why i just like shiny new things ;)
  24. Great central 3 plank added to the rake!
