  1. Great work, I love the attention to the little details. You have built a model to be proud of. Best Wishes Andrew
  2. Hi Jim, Not certain how to work that out, maths certainly isn't a strong point for me. The two road version is 135mm wide and the four road 261mm. The difference between these is 126mm (261-135). Assuming all the roads are equal width, by dividing this by two we can deduce that each road is 63mm wide. Standard OO track is 16.5mm between the rails. So 63-16.5 = 46.5mm track centres. This is pretty much spot on for streamline geometry, but might need tinkering for setrack. I may of course have misunderstood the question, in which case a quick email to John at Scalescenes should resolve your query. Best Wishes Andrew
  3. Thanks Huw, Pleasantly surprised at how cheap those Maplin kits are, definitely going to look into those. I was thinking about one of the new TrainTech smart lights but now have some food for thought. Thanks again, Andrew
  4. I've finally managed to squeeze in some modelling time, allowing me to present the initial stages of my cakebox diorama. The scene is set in a run-down back street between the converging tracks approaching a London terminus. There are likely to be many puddles and potholes in the road surface, as despite all the regeneration occurring locally this is still very much a forgotten backwater. The first unit we see under the arches is a garage specialising in MOT's and no questions asked repair work, all strictly cash only mate. The second unit is to be a nightclub, or possibly a gentleman's entertainment venue, I've not decided yet. As you can see from the helicopter view below, space is quite tight. I'm going to stick with OO/4mm though as I plan to go to town with the detailing on this. I don't think my chubby fingers could manage in anything smaller. Still to add is the deck/track for the viaduct, which when detailed will fulfil the two railway items criteria. I've got some ideas for the cameos, but welcome any contributions/comments anyone may have. Andrew
  5. Seen at The Works discount bookstores, a "Big Bag o' craFT" for £6. Might be useful to someone Andrew
  6. Just a heads-up, as of the end of September these guys are no longer trading. Other than some old woodland scenics bits, the model railway stock was pretty much all gone anyways. With the closure of the Modelzone concession within WHSmith, Croydon is again without a model shop.
  7. Definitely legit, I was in the shop just yesterday. However the shop was literally FULL of customers, which may explain the delay in answering the phone. A very well stocked shop and Andy (owner?) was very helpful.
  8. Don't know if this helps but they are selling physical copies for $14 delivered to the US via model-rail.co.uk If not I'll make a note of the name of the layout next time I pass a newsagent, where I'm sure a Google search will fill in the missing gaps. Regards Andrew
  9. Hi all, I bought a box of "train set" bits on eBay, in the box were these: Does anyone know what they are supposed to represent? Thanks Andrew
  10. Hi Stu, Could I please ask what the backscene is made from? I am hoping to achieve a similar effect to you. Any advice/pointers would be greatfuly received. Thanks in advance. Andrew
