  1. I'm glad to see comments like these as I'm likely to opt for a `H` (R3539 or R3631) in the next few days, so I'll be taking a look inside the loco, given the reports of issues and in case there is a problem with the motor or something else.
  2. I'm not the most well-informed on this subject, but from what I can tell Hornby's anti-competitive and dishonourable business practises are disgraceful. Perhaps a boycott of new Hornby products is in order? There's always the second-hand market.
  3. Got to love the more obscure versions like Engineer's Black and SR Brown with BR lettering!
  4. Two BR grey 7-plankers, two BR grey 5-plankers, a BR brown (SR lettering) 7 plank wagon, and a 5 plank wagon in BR departmental black. They're all great, well-built and free-rolling, but the Hybars - a separate piece - don't fit quite as well as I hoped (slightly bent on the end pieces). I'm happy overall though.
  5. Taken from the OO Works website: Adams Jubilee is under production, we are still taking orders.
  6. Sticking with the SECR - I'm happier with this one. Once this seven-plank wagon is complete, I'll probably paint it in BR grey.
  7. Update: It's not 100% straight (leans to one side a little) but I'm pleased to have got the bodyshell together, especially since this is my first kit-built van. Far from finished though, and I'm looking forward to making improvements with future examples, especially with regard to the fit of the parts and by changing the type of glue used.
  8. Does anyone have any pictures of SR D1316 (C79 in the Cambrian Models range) or 10t van D1410 (C115) in any condition or from any era? Thanks.
  9. Something which I hadn't previously mentioned is my plan to construct some SR 12T Vans, maybe the PC591. There is something so characterful about these vans - maybe it's the roof shape or the double vents! I think that's why I love the aesthetics of the similar-looking SECR 10T van, hence why I'll be focusing on the C98 kit from Cambrian over the summer too.
  10. Smashing picture Graham! If only one of these oddities was available RTR... Who wouldn't want to buy one of these?
  11. I saw these advertised today: BR OO Wagon Tarpaulin Kit (geoscenics.co.uk)
  12. Cheers mate! I might consider opting for a few of these. Even from the computer screen, they look authentic.
  13. I'm thinking of building up a rake of SECR 5 and 7 plank open wagons, using a couple of items from Rapido (scheduled to arrive next month) for a side-by-side comparison to ensure the kits are accurate. I also took the plunge and created some tarpaulins for a couple of wagons I own; I might create some similar types for the kits this summer. The wagon pictured is a BR-era ex-PO 7 plank wagon. The tarpaulin is simply made from paper with a mixture of paints sourced from Humbrol and Squires. Not sure if it's realistic though.
  14. Thanks for the suggestions guys. I'll keep you updated over the next few months about the project on this page.
  15. Is it possible to buy a sheet of transfers from CCT with a few specific wagon types, or do you have to go with all the prototypes listed for that particular sheet?
