  1. The layout assembled after weathering of track. The boards are split into a 2 and a 3 . And use the scalemodelscenery boards.
  2. Some of my attempts at alternative stock.
  3. please check out my 'proper' layout. http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/topic/137963-park-farm-sidings/?p=3315734
  4. please check out my other project: http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/topic/137946-plank-sidings-a-photographic-back-drop/
  5. Hi, I do have a track plan, on the pc, next time on there I will dig it off. Thanks. I don't quite know the technicalities , the lads who installed it know more, but as long at least a certain percentage of the conservatory is glazed, then it is still classed as a conservatory. so no changed needed for our local council planning.
  6. thanks , Thats definitely on the list of things to do! I am going to it enclosed, so I can do day and night shots! and control lighting.
  7. Next task was the baseboards. The layout has been built so it can be rehomed. Not taking a liking to dismantling and reassembling wood an alternative approach was taken , using a product called unistrut a 42mm steel profile. and then topped with 12mm ply.
  8. Hi all, This thread is following the progress of my layout build - Parkfarm Sidings. First up , the layouts home. 3x3 m converted conservatory.
  9. Thank you. Thank you. The plank is 90cm long - the size of the off cut I had. Its OO Gauge , code 75. If theres any other questions , I am more than happy to assist. My next task is wiring the light in the canopy and adding wall lights to the low relief backdrop.
  10. Scratchbuilt low relief backdrop added. Now need to plate the back scene with sky.
  11. Having recently scratch built , a covered shed , originally to be a fuelling road and having no use for it I decided to put it to use on a photographic plank.
  12. So if I am interpreting this right, you unable to for example shunt stock with stock to the front? Also , I all my points are electro frog , correctly insulated extra (Dcc) I am not having any problems with standard points only the double slip, a quick fix is to install auto frogs just on the double slip. Which would be the blue green frog sections, as the double slip is connected to a point would I need to attach dcc80 where red is indicated. I would rather not fit autofrogs to all points because I hate working under the layout
  13. A baseboard shape has been decided to best use the space , the track plan is a rough draft drawn up late last night, and will no doubt change a lot. The second image is a rough mockup of how the layout will sit in the 'conservatory' if it can even be called that anymore.
  14. Today , after a long time progress is finally being made. With no where for a layout other than the conservatory and previously having one in there was damaged by the heat and sun, something had to be done. With my brother doing double glazing and conservatory conversions it was the perfect answer. The conservatory roof is coming off , a new frame but up with 72mm insulation, tile effect roof and full plastered. This enables the room to be usable all year round and maintain a comfortable temperature. Attached in blog photos is the conservatory as of this morning.... Later today the new roof is being delivered .Ready for installation, weather permitting , this coming weekend.
  15. Other recent projects Renovated resin building, with scratch built billboard. Skytrex barn painted up Airfix ruined workshop
  16. Latest build, after being given a Kernows Bachmann Holman compressed, I decided I would build a crane to lift this on to wagons. I know that this is very unlikely to be lifted by a crane like this , and this crane is loosely based on images and what I liked the look off, bodged and bashed together But my future layout to be built will be Moden image , not based on a exact location and plenty of whatever I like.. The figure is a Bachmann construction worker repainted in to oranges and equipped with mobile crane operating harness thingy. Another 2 packs of compressors are on the way and a pack of conflates are ready to be loaded on there arrival . Uploading from IPad so apologies if this comes out funny. Thanks Oliver
