  1. I really enjoy Robs pictures and hope you post many more
  2. Well admittedly it’s in early BR green but Hornby did release an N15 with watercart tender in the Pete Waterman collectionSorry just caught the posts above, I have to admit I have several Arthurs in various guises. Oh and as regards the Schools on the South Western Section there’s a YouTube clip showing Basingstoke in 1949 with a newly out shopped Schools working a Waterloo bound stopper
  3. Whilst a U1 would be nice in BR days they were confined to the eastern section whilst the Us were allocated from Yeovil to Bricklyers arms. Plus it’s been in the top three of requested locos in online polls for years.
  4. A retooled N would be nice but I really want a decent U
  5. I have to admit I’m in two minds about buying a set. They’re not really my area (western section Southern Region) and they’re expensive but then I think of a D hauling a rake on the Reading Redhill services and my resistance crumbles.
  6. Well I received my 10201 today just in time for crimbo and I am seriously impressed. I am confident this will be in the running for model of the year and I love the heavy solid feeling of the model which bodes well for its running qualities. I believe Kernows Bullieds have set the bar for 2018!
  7. Ummm Lord Nelson (in Homer Simpson voice).
  8. I totally agree about the necessity of a blue Merchant Navy and my wallet could use a rest after the last year. But then I think of a proper Lord Nelson and I just put my hands up in surrender

    New announcement?

I’m imaging an air smoothed one in malachite with chain link valve gear!
  10. FYI. I spoke to a very nice gentleman at Kernow about my order. Apparently they are overwhelmed by orders for the gate stock (and the Bullieds) and are having to hire new people to handle packing and posting the orders. This suggests that both items will be very successful and hopefully lead to more goodies!

    New announcement?

I was reading it in Bradley, apparabtly the cme proposed a 4-6-2 2-6-4 for the west of English line from Basingstoke to Exeter and they would have been the biggest engines ever to run in the UK. The order was approved by the board and Beyer Peacock was asked to enter a quote and then the whole thing just faded. I like to imagine one pounding through Honiton on the ACE!

    New announcement?

I hate to disappoint but I’m reliably informed it’s the mega Garrett that The Southern proposed for the west of England line in 1934, in malachite green
  13. One of the interesting might have beens after the problems were highlighted with the LNs was His Garrett design. Mauncell produced a 462 264 design which would have been the largest steam engine in the UK beating the LNERs U1. Now there’s a thought for a new model lol
  14. A H15 Chonker An Adams 0395 A Midland 4 2 2 A GWR Dean Single (a modern up to date model) A NER Atlantic (either a V or a Z).
  15. It's been an expensive couple of months for me, Kernows Bullied diesel and the gate set (in crimson) and the 00 Works D15, but it's all worth while I mean back in the bad old days of the 80s and 90s could anyone have imagined any of these being produced?
  16. Got mine today, I was a little worried by the finish shown in the pictures but needn't have worried, had a cursory look and it's very nice it looks like a D15 and I can't wait to get it running
  17. I suspect that it's more likely that Bachmann will be the first to produce 4mm Bullieds. Remember that they've already done the research for the 1951 stock so it would be a matter of new tooling. I wouldn't be entirely surprised also if we saw a U from them as well, I remember speaking to their rep not long after the N came out and he sais that they had done the research but as sales for the N were disappointing they wouldn't be going ahead.
  18. I must confess I've been tempted to buy a set but at the price they're on sale at they're a luxury I can't afford, for the same price I've got a Kernow Bullied diesel on order!
  19. I have to admit I was rather expecting a D or D1/E1 but I'm very happy that they're doing these very attractive engines and have already ordered mine.
  20. totally agree with you about both a Chonker and U, you have good taste sir
