  1. The trouble with the student download from Autodesk is that when you plot the drawing, on the boarders it states that it is from an educational version of CAD. I would like to know if there is a way of changing this. After a tinker with Solidworks the other day at Uni, autoCAD seams inferior Ian G
  2. If I had the time (studying is more intense these days for a degree) I would happily build another 6 pack of MMP dogfish, the last 3 are in the paint shop. I always look for afordability and detail and find MMP in my price bracket, not everyone can afford a rake of JLTRT coaches. Ian G
  3. I use Tamiya 6mm masking tape, this run beneath the top edge of the sides. Ian G
  4. My last 3 MMP dogfish are in paint along with 2 Buzz Models Rudd's and a steel end Grampus conversion, I will finish painting these before I restart on my Shark & BTU. Ian G
  5. I have a little bit more work to do on the BTU, the milk tank im still undecided what colour to paint it, the Shark should be in primer by the end of the month. Ian G
  6. My last to dogfish are in primer, the next colour will be applied on Tuesday, photos to follow. Ian G
  7. Brake gear fitted this on the dogs this weekend, buffer beams next a spot of cleaning then primer, hoping to finish all that I have left by the 11th March. Ian G
  8. I have all the brake gear left to fit to my last 2 dogfish and items for the buffer beams. The shark i have plated the sides with nickle silver sheet and refining the bumps with wet and dry, the insides will pe planked with plastic card. Ian G

  10. I have finally restarted these dogfish, studying for a degree is no fun when you want to finish something. Ian G
  11. I am in the middle of building my last 2 of 6 MMP dogfish, I will finish these the and the Shark about the same time. Ian G
  12. I have been tinkering with designing an etch for the suspention of a VEA, but have not had much time to do it, my other problem is finding an Etcher that will take a dawing in either AutoCAD 2011 or Turbo CAD 16 delux, Ian G
  13. I have asked Parkside Dundas many times if they would but told no, i have enough bits for 3 more VEA's or ODA's Ian G

  15. I have started on the Shark again, as I intend to plate the sides due to the poor quality of the etched planks, a few holes have been drilled inoth the sides, I will either solder or glue the plates on. The insides will be planked with plastic card. Ian G

  17. ive still got an unbuilt steam crane kit in 4mm that ive had for some years now Ian G
  18. The BTU is slowly progressing I had to re align the sides as the roof would not fit properly, I will soon fit all the underframe bits and bobs. Ian G
  19. My BTU coach and Siphon are slowly progressing, over easter i started another dogfish kit 3 hours of cutting forming and soldering to produce the basic chassis and hopper assembly. Scott if you are a P4 modeller you get a fair amount of ribbing in one of Tony's talks. Ian G
  20. I use Slaters Plastic Card planking for the shutters. Ian G

  22. I am now starting to build up the area of the shutter door, also the guards compartment I picked up from easy build. Ian G
  23. Next on the agenda is my second BTU coach, the sides have been glued to the base with the roof in place to keep squareness Ian G
  24. These where my entries into the club competition my wagons built in the last year, also the winning wagon a Parkside Pipe,this is the sort of standard we get to at our club. judging was by Tony Wright of BRM, a well worth Judge and his talks are great if you are not a P4 modeller. Ian G
