  1. I have spoken to DCC Supplies, Fiona. She knew exactly what the problem with the buffer stop was. There is a "fish hook" on the end of the buffer stop. This has snapped off. Replacement being sent. Customer happy as he wanted to keep it anyway. Thank you DCC Supplies for being so helpful. Doesn't excuse the factory for sending them out in this condition. Best guess is that it broke when being fitted and loose parts were just left in the box.
  2. Thanks Andy, I cannot see anything that looks snapped, I have the buffer, the collar and the spring. It looks like it should be a push fit, but won't stay in. Dapol contacted and the man who knows how they fit... only works on Thursdays. Anybody know?
  3. Just opened the first of our delivery. Is exactly the same as above, definitely happened in the factory. Saw the buffer loose in the clear packaging. Did you find a way of refitting the spring loaded buffer? Doesn't appear to be broken, definitly won't push fit. Now to examine the rest. Waited nearly two weeks for them to arrive. Apart from snowploughs loose in the box and the previously reported DRS Decals, nameplates wonky. They look amazing. I have never been so nervous opening a delivery.
  4. That is Exactly what we were thinking Roy hehe
  5. I can only find five shops who are behind us alphabetically. None of them stock Dapol by the looks of it. Hope when the N Gauge 68 comes out, they reverse the order. :-)
  6. We are due to receive ours on Friday. Gaugemaster must have sent them out in alphabetical order.
  7. I hope it depends on where you retailer has bought them from. I ordered mine from Gaugemaster. They are still awaiting despatch. I spoke to them yesterday and was told that there were still other retailers also waiting for theirs.
  8. Hopefully this can be sorted out very quickly to make you change your mind. I am really looking forward to receiving ours and my own one today. I have ordered the DRS livery myself. What I do find that is really disappointing is that at least two posters had raised the livery errors to Dapol in July and August 2016 in Dapol Digest. In particular the need to centralise the livery on one side.
  9. Not even the body. Not even if fitted with snow ploughs. Not sure what the effect would be on transfers etc. Let me know if it works though
  10. There are various brands of Glue Debonder, but as ever research the product first and make sure it doesn't damage the finish. https://www.zapglue.com/ca-debonder Web page says that it will not craze most plastics, bottle says may craze some plastics. Think they have that covered so be very careful. I have read superglue doesn't hold up well in freezing temperatures. No way will I be putting my DRS 68 in the freezer.
  11. Hi, I can't find it now either but I read it on here earlier today. Either I imagined it or the post has been removed. Neil was mentioned. But, yesterday, I had a customer in the shop whose wife had bought him one. He was returning it to us as he was concerned about the finish. When I told him we hadn't received ours he knew she had bought it from somewhere else. He rang Dapol and they told him to return it to the retailer and the problem(s) would be rectified. That would be Dapol and any other manufacturers expected response. He was certainly happy when he had spoken to Dapol. Despite my itching to see the model I didn't ask him to show it me. At this stage he hadn't opened it in our shop. I asked him what is was like as a model and he told me it was "superb" even with the problem he had.
  12. Just spoken to one very busy fellow retailer. He said that 1/3rd of his large delivery have issues. Nothing that a soldering iron, glue de-bonder, paint remover, superglue re-attachment of plastic parts and dedicated shop owner with many hours of extra work ahead of him cannot will solve. Hats off to him for making sure they are perfect. Not yet received ours but if we have similar issues then we will have no option but to return them. Hoping ours will all be okay as both a retailer and a modeller who has ordered some for my own collection. Good to know that Dapol have agreed to rectify the problem.
  13. Hi 40F, just like 87029, we have been asking to have access to Hornby International and have not had any luck. As for weekly stock lists, never seen one. Didn't even know they existed. Would be interested to know what part of the country you are in as different areas have been receiving different information. This is a complaint that we have brought to Hornby's attention. It remains unsolved. This evening we have received an email again from Hornby re the Doncaster Show that a shop in the South West had told me about earlier in the day. I had queried this with Hornby earlier. Then late this afternoon Hornby Trade sent an email stating "We would also like to inform you that products from our international brands are now available to order in the UK." It reads like this is something new but not from what you have experienced.
  14. Hi Keith, the Google map shows the building in June 2012, it was Hattons then. If you go further up Montague Road and into the car park to see an empty building that is taken in August 2008. Hope this clarifies the location for you.
