  1. H) They are in number 10 attending a Cabinet Meeting.
  2. Phew, you had me there Jim. Just checked and you are right its £9.95 for the bells from Rails. Also noticed that they are a Corporate Member of the NRN, hence the access I would have thought to the bell package. If you can keep a secret, I will be honest with you. Our shop bell isn't actually made of brass, it was £2.99 from M and S. Edit: Now seen on another thread that Rails commissioned the bells from Rapido.
  3. Sorry Jim, no, it was meant as a joke as people are asking for the NRM version with gloss finish and the bells. Haven't seen the bells anywhere except at Rails. Apologies if I misled you. I thought you hadn't seen the shop bell on the top.
  4. Just the shop bell on the top of the box Jim. Oh and you can change it to gloss finish with the supplied Humbrol.
  5. Not sure what all the fuss is about but we have put together a package and are considering putting it on Ebay at a hugely inflated price. Wife reckons if it sells we could be in for some foreign travel. Maybe as far as Wales. What do you think?
  6. All DC variants due in this week to Dapol. Hurrah.
  7. All gone. Pity bart2day didn't take my advice when I told him that shops were selling under £130 and told me I was making it all up.
  8. Eyesight not the best at this time of night. But if I can see, can you enlighten me re buffer shapes? Are they all correct? Had a look at all our DRS loco's today, N and OO. All the colours are varied. We have one customer who every time he comes in he askes us what colours are we using this week on our DRS loco's? He is right though.
  9. Over the years it dwindled to selling three copies a month. One guy comes in every three or four months and collects his. Another said he had taken out a digital copy, so he was cancelling. They are not sale or return, so we were losing every month as I would give any other copies away in the following month to anybody new or decent sales. Smiths now sell two extra copies every month. I buy them and save money. No profit, no loss.
  10. Bit on confusion abounds regarding this. The VDA van wasn't too pleasing for the South. My understanding was that it was decided to make the City of Truro the South's loco. There was then an issue with the loc for the rep area south of the Mersey and having sent it back, it was replaced with Sir Daniel Gooch. I don't think there are any actual 2018 rep picks per se. I stand to be corrected.
  11. We have stopped selling Railway Modeller. Dwindling sales mean that we are also about to drop Hornby Mag. We literally have a queue when the free Railway Modelling mag arrives. Have most people gone to digital editions or are we just an isolated case? I have to say and agree with Legend that the above looks like a really good edition.
  12. Hi, need to check my pre-orders tomorrow when I'm supervised by an appropriate adult. We will be stocking both. Can I get back to youi by PM?
  13. Oops, still working he had a 2 in his sig. I see Bachmann are not the only people who are a bit confused this weekend. It is my turn to apologise. Should I carry on doing my spreadsheets or get a coffee and then carry on? Sorry, especially as you proved my point. Coffee it is....
  14. No need to apologise, oh wait, no you haven't. I think you accused shops of price fixing by saying only Ian Allen had then lower than around the £145 mark, everyone else was at the mark. You now state that you have found one at £135, which you implied I had made up. I think you may have found judging by your comment of "mass variations in price out there" that there are lots of varying prices. Just to clarify and prove that retailers really are 24/7. The one below £120 turns out to be an N Gauge pre-order. Always have to check prices and information given. I too was not trying to cause any problems just pointing out to fellow retailers that there had been a problem with the price provided by different means from Bachmann.
  15. Try Googling Bachmann Claas 66 Evening Star. You seem to have changed the prices from your original post so I will remind you of what you originally posted: Care to share the names of the retailers who are selling it at £133, 135 or less than 130? I'm guessing not, as they don't exist. I refer you to your previous post where you said everybody except Ian Allen was selling at the same price and that seemed like price fixing. I actually know a shop as I had a telephone call today to say he was selling at less than £120 which is selling at a loss. Not online. But I will ring him Monday as I suspect it is marked wrong. If you care to call me a liar, I will give you one for free, Tridentat £135.95. Thats 4p less depending on which post you look at of yours. As I brought my list home I was comparing prices ealier today when I was in my shop. Decided to do them again just now and a lot have gone up in price. Perhaps they realised that there was a mistake on their delivery note, just like me.
  16. There are posts on here that say £135, do a search and you can find it around that price. Go and buy a new car and you will find they are all around the same price. The RRP is the RRP. I know someone who is selling it this for £130, that is £40 approx off the RRP, but if like us they received a delivery note which says £159.95 then they think its only £30ish cheaper. Never heard of a Bachmann dealer being shot at dawn for selling at whatever he wants to sell for. My price is fixed, by my partners and me, is that price fixing. If everybody decides to sell at a similar price, do you think they all ring each other and decide what shall we sell this for. Or do you think they have a look at what everyone else is selling for on line and think, yes we will match that that? Seems sensible. A quick check online and in no particular order, prices I have seen are £144.46, £144.45, £164.95, £135, £133, £179.99, £135.99, £180, £169.95 or some even lower than £130, I gave up then. Sound like price fixing? I can almost guarantee that the highest price paid today was by me. As my partners are my wife and son, if we want something it's top dollar, it discourages me from buying too much. I don't even model in OO but I wanted one for my study. It's a fantastic model. If I were you I would buy one before they go up in price on Ebay. They may even all go up when the retailers realise they were given the wrong price.
  17. What I am pointing out is that the RRP is wrong, nothing else. What I am saying is price fixing? Here we go again. You originaslly asked where was the cheapest place to buy from. There was a range of prices but that was because the delivery notes had the wrong price on them.
  18. Calm down bart2day, Bachmann sent these out to retailers with delivery notes which had the wrong price on it. They price should have shown £169.95 before any discounts, it was typed wrong. £135 is based on the price being £159.95. That is why some retailers have gone from £135 to around £144 having realise Bachmanns mistake. Hilux it is 15% off RRP. To clarify: Taken from our documents; Copy of our delivery note: 32−983 Class 66 66779 ’Evening Star’ GBRF 159.95 Copy of Bachmanns RRP Class 66 66779 'Evening Star' GBRF £169.95 Edited to show prices.
  19. Just a note for retailers: The price on your delivery note for Evening Star is a Bachmann typing mistake. It should be £169.95, not £159,95p. Anybody getting it for around the £135 mark has had a result at the retailers expense.
  20. Always a pleasure to serve you Chris. Thank you.
  21. I only reported so that I have an alibi. Just waiting for them to fill the shelves .
  22. I think we can maybe all agree that this has been done to death. I have sent you a PM.
  23. Station, Signal Box, Church and Pub due in to us next week.
  24. When this was first announced in 2017, everybody chuckled and were waiting for the punchline, it never came. Andy Y announced it on this forum and looks like readers chuckled. I presume Andy had seen these prior to us at the Press conference. Did they chuckle Andy? I think the rep must have been on a day off. As now reported City of Truro was later announced. As for our region, I couldn't think of a better choice. I have a feeling that a certain shop owner in Carlisle might have been consulted, possibly even demanded this livery. On a personal view they are all the wrong scale. Now that is what I would love to see in the future. I think the market although smaller in N could take it. Any unsold would be snapped up by me, renumbered and place in a safe place on my layout.
  25. Hi Dave, one minute you are playing Devils Advocate and the next you are advising retailers to be the first to act upon the CMA's "whistleblowing policy". No one was forced to sell at RRP if they wanted to charge more, and some have that is a free market. If they wanted to sell for less, if they wanted to give them away so be it. I think you are missing the bigger picture here.
