  1. The wind is frosty, the temperature is below 2 degrees, it's dark & the rain is close to turning to snow. But in my miniature world, where it's always Summer, Peter & Fenella have stopped off to have a picnic. Another fine set of metal figures from S&D models.
  2. Yeah, guess we'll have to wait & see. Although I doubt it'll make it to the coast, but who knows, back in 2017 it was like this ! You have a great one too Shaun, Merry Christmas. Cheers, Felix
  3. It's snowing, the staff of the BBR are doing their best to keep the services continuing for the holiday travelers, what few there are. Best wishes to everyone for a Merry Christmas, and a Healthy, Normal 2022.

  5. An unusual visitor to this 1930s Somerset village goods yard, a Lancashire & Yorkshire van !
  6. They look superb. The stonework is nicely finished, like the garage too ! Well done Squatch
  7. That sounds great Martin, no ads even on youtube. May I ask what ad-blockker you have on your browser ? Thanks
  8. Service, on a Sunday ? It can't be, can it ? I suppose anythings possible in this world
  9. Since Gordon has mentioned seagulls, guess I should share my latest building for the Boxer Bay village, and the most important, being the local pub . "The Cheeky Seagull" I must finish the pavement, pink indeed ! The patrons will be seeing an elephant next !
  10. Thanks Shaun. I do enjoy photography, & filming the railway, especially as it's getting more complete with scenery & details. Finding time is difficult. I am well & very busy with the new job, but getting a lot of little things done & enjoying the 4 day break. I made up this film for the GOG virtual show. Probably won't have time to make another for awhile, but maybe a few shorts. Hope all is well with you, Felix
  11. Hi Gordon, Yes, a very nice metal kit by Duncan Models. Usual disclaimer, no connections, just happy customer. The hobby wouldn't be the same without all the producers of parts, accessories etc... http://www.duncanmodels.co.uk/ Felix
  12. The squire's Bentley is parked, he must be behind the camera
  13. A few updates. First a quick little video of a newly finished up ex LMS 1F 0-6-0T now BBR #8 "Hilda". Purchased second hand, refurbished with new gears, and re-lettered etc... And a neat detail I just had to have, the classic finger signpost. The squire's Bentley is parked, he must be behind the camera
  14. Looking good. I must get on with the next building for my seaside village. Happy Thanksgiving, Felix
  15. Looks super, I like the bare cedar wood as well. A new loco kit makes any week a great one
  16. Sunday in the country. Just a bit of fun with my 1924 Thornton Pickard I posted the b&w version in the "realistic modelling" thread, here's the colorized print
  17. Hi Ray, Sorry for the slow reply, haven't been on the forum much of late due to overtime at work I really should draw up an updated track plan & do it properly too. At Windrush Junction, one line curves off to complete the circuit, and the other goes through a wall into a closet, where I have 2 hidden sidings / storage tracks representing the "rest of Somerset", where GWR trains originate & terminate. It gives added operational interest & allows for trains to enter / exit the railway. The colliery extension was shoe-horned in off those sidings. A very rough sketch below. I've found that if you keep to smaller stock & shorter coaches, say the Slaters 43' / 46' bogie or 2 axle ones, the tighter radius isn't much of a problem. Even the Dapol Autocoach runs nicely which was a pleasant surprise. Thanks, Felix
  18. Sunday in the country. Just a bit of fun with my 1924 Thornton Pickard
  19. BBR Peckett heading through the splendid countryside on a fine day. The driver has pulled up to collect his "bag" of the day, and on Sunday too ! Hope the Vicar doesn't find out.
  20. ~ Important Notice ~ An extension has been opened to serve the brand new Kramdenite Colliery. A few weeks ago while "overseeing" the operation of the railway (playing trains), I discovered a bag of coal under the baseboard, and the idea was born. Construction began immediately. It required a re-work of the hidden sidings for the GWR, bit of a tight curve, and there we are, an additional 7' to play with. It will add some additional fun to the railway. Apologies for the humour (?) it keeps me sane in this world ! Or has it ? Happy Halloween Before : After Extension :
  21. Interesting idea blowing up the OO templates, it never occurred to me the radius would differ from the O. Having had bad experiences in the past, I try to iron out any problems with the track before moving ahead. I've just ripped up and redone the track on my dock. The finished result is so much better, well worth the time. Felix
  22. Beautiful work, your son has a natural talent and skill. Most impressive.
  23. A small loading dock has been added to the rear of the Goods shed, scratch built from simple card & wood. The goods yard is slowly getting there, a yard crane, coal staiths, and all the other accessories still to go. There's always something to do on the railway.
  24. Great to meet you Shaun. You have a great layout & most unique, love the junction & viaducts. I'll look forward to future visits & seeing developments, the station w/ overall roof will be impressive, along with the industrial mills area. It's got me motivated to get to work on some of my projects. I enjoyed the chat, not many people in Oregon I can talk with about British steam railways Next time you're in Coos Bay area you're welcome to stop by for a visit. All the best, Felix
  25. I departed TT many years ago for British O, but have to say that is one impressive looking model. I wonder if Hornby plan on producing more TT. Super layout too, mine was a small 3x6' but was great fun. Can't beat TT for a layout in a small space.
