  1. Thanks very much. I hope to add more photos next week.
  2. Hi Rob Thanks, I hope to start painting later this week. I have found some gloss black acrylic spray cans from an old car I used to have so I might try those. Strangely my next loco project is a green Lima 33 I have had for about 30 years!!! I am just going to renumber it an add a few details so it doesn’t look out of place against my Heljan ones. Graham
  3. Work in progress!!! It is beginning to take shape now, I am really pleased with it so far. Body and tender need a quick coat of primer and then top coat. The chassis then needs a bit of work. The front bogie is from a late Hornby M7 and has extra pick-ups so hopefully will perform a bit better. I have also fitted a sintered neo magnet to the old motor so I now need to practice my soldering skills and get it all wired up and tested!!!!! Graham
  4. That would be very helpful, many thanks. Graham
  5. I have just bought some Modelu figures but have no idea what colours to use. Could you please let me know the names of the colours you used as they do look really good! Many thanks. Graham
  6. I think it will be easier than re-building the baseboards!!!!!!!
  7. Thanks Right Away this might also help with signalling!!!! Cheers.
  8. Good point Bruce, but I'm not sure I'm that good. But worth a try I suppose. Thanks.
  9. Hi. Thanks for the link, fantastic collection of pictures. I suppose logic and most of those pictures, shows the steps facing the platform. I will either have to turn my layout around (not easy) or find another signal box. Shame kit manufacturers don't give you the option!!!! Cheers.
  10. This may be a silly question but............do signal box steps always have to face the platform? I am modelling a small Southern Region terminus but the signal box I want use has the steps facing away from the platform. I suppose I could have a footpath behind the box leading back to the station or that just wrong? Many thanks.
  11. I have treated myself to a copy of “Southern Maunsell 4-4-0 Classes by David Maidment. There are loads of really good photos in this book and a couple show what definitely looks like the brake handle on the left hand side of the tender.
  12. Thanks Rob & 34, I think I will go for the left hand side then. Yes we could do with some new rtr 4-4-0’s!!! Many thanks again. Graham
  13. Thanks Rob, sounds like you have the same info I have! Cheers Graham
  14. I am detailing and modifying my L1. I have a brake column to fit in the tender but can someone please tell me if it goes on the left or on the right? Cheers Graham
  15. I also have 2006 to 2015 without 2014, so I don't think there was one that year. Graham
  16. Thanks Graham That is on my shopping list. I have found that Cambridge Custom Transfers produce a sheet for ExSR bogie vans (Sheet BL127) to suit all diagrams but I still cant find any information as to what lettering goes where! I see on the latest Hornby B vans there is information on Length Inside, Width, Height, Distributed Load and Tare Weight, was any of this shown on the GBL? Thanks Graham
  17. I have found an old Triang BR(SR) Gangwayed Bogie Luggage Van and would like to detail it to bring it up to the standard of the latest RTR stock. At the moment the only lettering on it is "S2357S". Can any one please let me know what other lettering would have been on these vans in BR days? Many thanks. Graham
