  1. I'm sure I can console myself with a very affordable C class
  2. Funnily enough I was talking to Gary about that just the other day. It might be something I come back to in the future, maybe as a tender drive loco instead
  3. If she had been available commercially I'd have had one too!
  4. Brighton locos are more Gary's (Bluelightning) thing as I'm a dedicated Ashford girl, but I'm pretty sure he's always after ideas for new projects
  5. Just got myself an Airfix 4F for under £20, so with a bit of bodging and a coat of paint that should be a C class for under £40! Just need a working R1 chassis and that should be all the locos required for Chart Sutton
  6. Now I think about it, I quite fancy a pink R1
  7. Little bit of a clean up and it should be good Makes the Q1 look tiny!
  8. I had a look on Google and the T class is very close. The bunker on the J72 is a bit bigger, but we seem to be able to live with the R1 model having too large a bunker...
  9. Just bagged myself a GBL C class for a new project. I blame you completely @BlueLightning
  10. Haha you're too kind. I wouldn't mind getting some Boughton Quarry transfers knocked up for the wagons at some point, and probably a few more wagons
  11. Went over to Eastbourne today to annoy Gary (bluelightning) at the shop, where he kindly took a look at the Q1 and actually got it working! (Thanks Gary!) I also came away with a few items Signs and lamp posts for the diorama and some liquid gravity to give the Q1 a bit more front end weight Also picked up some wagons to put to use on Chart Sutton eventually, probably for ragstone from the local quarry
  12. That's exactly what I'm going for. Just need to find an oil lamp for it
  13. Here's wot I made during a certain RMWebber's YouTube stream tonight... Its absolutely tiny!
  14. I might have a crack at building a brick bridge and clapboard shelter like the one down at Doleham, not far from me https://www.kentrail.org.uk/doleham_halt.htm I already have the materials to hand so this entire diorama hasn't cost anything extra so far. I might splash out on some hanging basket liner for the greenery surrounding the halt and maybe a couple of paint tester pots for extra ground coverage
  15. Not sure if there was much Art Deco at rural halts
  16. Quick update on the plank (the diorama, not me! ) The station building will be a small shelter with a path leading up to the overbridge which will be at the camera end Like most things I build it is held together with PVA glue and plenty of tape Pay day tomorrow so I can order myself a bridge and I'll try to remember to get a paper tomorrow to use as a hillside
  17. Unfortunately with my way the ballast has to be placed perfectly
  18. It's easier but not very good if you get a bit heavy handed
  19. I just chucked my ballast on while the glue was still wet from laying the track. Obviously I won't do that when I actually build my layout
  20. I deliberately bought N scale ballast as I find the OO stuff looks far too large
