  1. I would strongly recommend not going down the path of buildings. Given the amount of locos and rolling stock in the collection which haven't been produced, some of which the tooling exists, I would focus on them. I suspect buildings would appeal less to the "collector" than locomotives/rolling stock and as for modellers, unless you are modelling the location/region/period of the buildings within the national collection, they would not fit in to the majority of layouts.
  2. Bargain limited edition Class 66 no 66418 from Kernow in debranded DRS livery with Freightliner branding and a weathered finish. Soiled boxes- no sleeve or certificate but models are fine. RRP £174.95 currently £74.95 http://www.kernowmodelrailcentre.com/p/59810/32-976Z-Bachmann-Class-66-Diesel-Locomotive-SOILED-BOX
  3. I received my V2 dynamometer car today and whilst visually it is stunning and flawless, I am having running problems with it. When going round a curve, the front bogie is consistantly derailing due to the bogie not turning to enough of an angle. I have tried it with multiple locomotives and on both second and third radius curves on my test track with the same results. Has anyone got any advice?
  4. Went on my laptop this morning to check my emails (and RMweb!) and the top item was that my V2 dynamometer car has been dispatched, never have I been more excited for an item of rolling stock!
  5. I'd return that one, the chimney has clearly come off, assume it was damaged during delivery?
  6. I also have had no emails from APC, however when I got home I had a missed delivery card sitting on the door mat... *Headbutts wall* Emailed them and hopefully they should deliver tomorrow, just praying that the loco has survived all the journeys!
  7. Had my payment taken for 4709, it may not be perfect, but it's still miles better than any other representation of the class that I have access to (with my current painting ability) and I know I'll get a lot of enjoyment from this loco.
  8. Still not got my model, but got a chance to see club members model last night, and all I can say is what a stuning model! The atention to detail on it is amazing and from right out of the box it ran beautifully with just the softest hint of a purr. It truly is amazing what can be achieved in RTR these days, and I hope that Rapido go on and produce more British models and that locomotion will commission more new toolings.
  9. From memory? Blimey given the last Singles were withdrawn in 1916 didn't think there'd be anyone around who remembered the ones other than No 1!
  10. Basketball, that way they could use the slam dunk for maximum effect..
  11. Tell you what, next time Locomotion have an exclusive new tooling due, I'll offer to go up and help them package up the parcels. My fees, are one of the produced models. I used to work in a Royal Mail parcel warehouse so I have some experience in the industry.
  12. With all due respect it isn't the waiting a few days that bothers me, it's knowing that a £200 model I paid for has quite possibly ended up with someone else, for me £200 is a significant sum of money. How would you feel if you paid £200 for something and it was potentially sent to the address of someone completely different despite you having given all the correct details?
  13. It would seem that is the case. Just to clarify my previous postings, I haven't been demanding "I want mine NOW", I've been trying to work out the chain of what's happening. Feeling rather sick right now- any information by recipients of the single today as to correct/wrong quantity/address would be very much appreciated.
  14. So had you only ordered the one Stirling? If so that is rather concerning..
  15. I would have thought that's because Stuart has to oversee it and he said earlier he isn't back in the office until Tuesday.
  16. Still slightly concerned though, although it may confirm why some of us have not had dispatch emails- it doesn't explain why some people are getting emails about other peoples singles
  17. I have always been down for the tender which is being produced and haven't had the dispatch email so I doubt that's the reason.
  18. Also feeling a little concerned, order placed 16/04/16, balance paid as soon as it became available to pay. Hoping it hasn't gone walkies...
  19. This is a place to discuss model trains, and I'm sure for many of us a sanctuary from 'real life' problems, let's keep it that way. On topic, from all I have seen of this model, it could well be one of the best RTR OO gauge models of all time. I can hardly wait for mine (later version) to arrive. I really hope that Rapido are here in the British market to stay.
  20. *Insert Detective Mode* If the book is potentially modern traction (BR Blue/later) would likely be at least one model in that livery. Last year, Kernow and Bachmann produced 47306 'The Sapper' which is preserved at the nearby Bodmin and Wenford Railway. Given that one seems to be Bachmann, could there be another modern image diesel produced which is preserved at the Bodmin and Wenford Railway? The one that would jump out would be 37142 as it's preserved operational in BR Blue fitting the book, plus Bachmann have a run of 37s coming out in the not too distant future and they tend to do classes in multiple liveries per batch. A long shot, but possible.
  21. I hope so, certainly the full fat SECR liveried locos would also suggest that (still hunting for the C class for an affordable sum!) Although on the flip side the GNR Atlantic has hung around quite a while at locomotion with only the BR liveried version sold out I believe. What this could suggest with the market is that we see more models which are made to the number pre-ordered, with just a few additional for general sale instead of making a set number of 250/504/1000 and potentially having a large proportion sitting on the shelf.
  22. Slightly disappointed, was hoping for a class that hasn't been produced RTR in OO gauge. For me, I'm happy with my Bachmann Class 25s.
  23. I'll hazard a guess at the BR Class 02 diesel shunter in OO. One of the few that hasn't been done and given how well Heljan have done other shunters would make sense to continue with them.
  24. Looking at what is in the national collection (locomotives wise) and hasn't been produced (in current liveries) but does have the right tooling in existence, through a variety of manufacturers: LSWR T9, 30120, current livery is BR black and in operation, Hornby LMS 4F, 4027, currently undergoing an overhaul, ran in LMS black at Rainhill 150, Hornby, could a run in two liveries as done previously with Hornby/Rails. SR King Arthur Class, 777 'Sir Lamiel', static in SR malachite green, Hornby SR 850 'Lord Nelson', static in malachite green, Hornby new tooling (has been made previously by Bachmann though) BR Class 87, 87001 'Stephenson/Royal Scot, static BR Blue, Hornby new tooling BR Class 31, 5500/31018, BR Blue, Hornby, could do two liveries same as previously mentioned BR Class 08/09s, 13079, 08911, 09017, various liveries with NRM branding, Hornby or Bachmann BR Class 40, D200, non operational currently, BR Green (no warning panels), Bachmann BR Class 33, D6535, operational in BR Blue, Heljan (although perhaps unlikely) BR Class 03, D2090, operational in BR Green (no warning panels), Bachmann BR Class 37, D6700, BR Green, Bachmann GWR Railcar, No 4, static in Brown/Cream, Dapol Some are more likely than others but interesting to see there is still a wide variety available to make without having to commission new tooling (should manufacturers agree).
  25. Spoke to Stuart at locomotion today and he says he hopes that people who have paid will have them by the end of July.
