My forthcoming layout is going to be a based around a ficticious satelite depot for alot of DB Cargo UK's electric traction, and in particular, the Class 90, which operates the twice daily Malcolm Logistics run from Scotland down to Coventry. The train service code, which all trains have, is 4M25, I am not sure what the code for the ford cars run from Dagenham is, but a Class 90 regularly operates it, in an ideal world, it would be 90037, ''Spirit of Dagenham'' in ex EWS D...

It always had an EWS90 on it whenever I've visited Acton Bridge. The Institute Of Mechanical Engineers was the regular two days running last year. EWS 92 one time.

      Johnson Street IEMD

You must have your dates muddled up pet, as The institute of Mechanical Engineers, thinking you're referring to 90029 in EWS, was reliveried into DB Schenker back sometime ago and then into DB Cargo more recently.

90021 is currently stored, at Crewe, having had problems a couple of years ago sadly (as it's the last of the First Scotrail 90s to wear the distinctive Caly-Sleeper livery) - 024 - the Malcolm liveried 90, for whom the service is for, hasnt been on 4M25 for a while. 90034 is currently away with Greater Anglia - and several of the 90s, 018, 019, 029, 036, 039 and 040 have been borrowed for ECML duties.

      Johnson Street IEMD

Ahem, its 'she' thank you very much, and if the above counts as nothing special, then nothing we do here is special, however anyone who has any particular interest in the railways knows, everyone is different with their interest.

    3. Johnson Street IEMD

      Johnson Street IEMD

Glad they weren't 9fs Tigerburnie, i'd have been like where are my DB 90s if they were ? and no Ian J, they were southbound Class 90s on the Malcolm Logistics freight run.

  7. Missed snapping 4M25 @ Norton Bridge today :-(

      Swifty11

It's likely to stay as 90039/040 for next week unless 035 swaps with one. Lots of out of service 90s on Crewe IEMD!

    1. 46444

      46444

Quite like 4M25..A nice combo too..

    2. Johnson Street IEMD

      Johnson Street IEMD

Its cool for those Skoda lovers, as DB chop and change the pairs every few days, a few days ago, 019 (DB Cargo) paired up with 029 (DB minus Schenker) ... then they swapped in 028 (Post EWS white decals) in for 029 to run with 019.

4m25 really should run with 024 in the Malcolm Logistics livery but she hasnt been present on this service for some time - I only hope she hasnt had any serious problems.

  17. 90s 028 and 040 on 4M25 today, they're getting a good shot at it, not seen 90024 for a while and which 90 is next for the DB Cargo paint treatment ?

    1. 46444

      46444

      What’s 4M25?

    2. Johnson Street IEMD

      Johnson Street IEMD

its the Malcolm Logistics container service from Scotland to Coventry, it comes up and down the West Coast mainline twice daily and is operated by DB Cargo UK mainly with class 90s, my forthcoming layout is going to be an Electric depot where the 90s will be based from somewhere between Crewe and South Staffs as a satelite depot. Needless to say, im modelling DB and electrics.

  18. 90037 led 90028 yesterday on 4m25... what will today bring? I'd like 90024 and 90019 please DB

    1. big jim

      big jim

90024 is sat on crewe electric at the mo (just seen it from maccy d's carpark)

    2. Johnson Street IEMD

      Johnson Street IEMD

oh ok, thanks for that, ok, so, it wont be:

      90024 - at Crewe

      90034 - on GEML duties

      90029 and 90039 - on ECML work

      Could be 90018, 90019, 90028, 90035, 90036, 90037 or 90040

  19. 90028 and a Schenker branded 90 on 4M25 today.. must have been 018 or 040

    1. Jack374

    2. Johnson Street IEMD
