  1. We had an air fryer, I found most things cooked in it inedible, but the daughter and family loved theirs until it broke, so they got a donation, we barely fry anything these days and if we do we use Rice Bran oil, seems it is a lot healthier and doesn't have a strong taste.

  7. I can't read any fiction, couldn't as a kid, bored me rigid, but I will read book on how to tie Salmon flies from cover to cover, bushcraft how to light fires with no matches or lighters......read 'em all. I have a decent collection of fishing books modern and antique, read 'em all most more than once.

  9. You need to know some West Country replies................."dreckly" covers most get out clauses.
  10. Not at all Bob, I wasn't surprised as a similar strength squad lost to Bedford earlier in this competition, we had players available that could have played within the rules, but the whole idea is to give this cup a fair shot as a chance to develop players, even with Browny at fullback bumping up the ages,, that Tigers side was young and inexperienced who will hopefully have learnt from it. Any way we are in the final.
  11. It's a lot like England, the semi pro/amateur clubs run just fine, it's the SRFU and professional game that is in tatters, run by very over paid idiots it would seem, rings a lot of bells from the other side of Hadrians Wall.
  12. England "A" v Portugal at Welford Road Sunday 25th February 2024 1.00 pm Scotland are however in desperation as to what to do next Scottish Rugby scraps Super 6 club competition and reinstates national A-team - BBC Sport

  14. I worked for a Japanese car manufacturer in Derby for 12 years, working alongside workers from our parent plants in Toyota City, it took me quite a while to adjust to the way they worked and thought. Their training was very different to ours with no formal apprenticeships like we did. At work they were solemn and very focussed, but take them out of work for a beer and they were hilarious, so different. In the end I actually preferred working with them more than the Brits, honesty was something they had in spades, no back stabbing to get to the top, keen workers, pretty much everything the Brits were not. I was advised(not by John Cleese) to not talk about the war, but some did, they seemed very sad that their forefathers had behaved the way they did. I was invited to go to Japan, but as I was leaving the company a few weeks later, I declined and let a colleague go, my mistake I should have gone as it was my project, oh well.
  15. My brush with the black do was a weird one, I was called into the front office at work to be told they'd like me to go to Aberdeen to see the company Doc, he did an interview and took some bloods. Seems I had become rather quiet and un focussed and low and behold the diagnosis was depression, they gave me some happy pills and a three month sick note. My wife had noticed nothing, me neither, so after the allotted three months I went back to work, carried on as before for a couple of years then retired, as far as I know no recurrences, not even when I had the Cancer diagnosis.
  16. Wrapped Around Your Finger-The Police
  17. Six Nations 2024: World Rugby denies Scotland admission of error against France - BBC Sport I don't understand what made the Scots RFU do this, did they think the powers that be in World Rugby would say sorry, ref's mistake you win Scotland, it is truly baffling, it must be very embarrassing for the players who have to take the field and face another referee.
  18. I agree with Jeremy Clarkson re diesel engines, they are ok in fields in agricultural vehicles....................................
