If those white things on the boxcar goods van(?) are marker lights/class lights (whatever they are called), they must have been a real bear to light/extinguish! 😲

There was a similar setup in the southern California desert using wood for the structure and maybe the "rail". A little bit of the "track" still exists (or did a few years ago) due to the dry desert air and the relative isolation of its location. In Death Valley, I think it was.

Not a UK prototype but Bachmann in their On2½ line-up offered a "T-boilered" Shay: Even more quirky I would say; vertical firebox - horizontal boiler! Note that I did not vote as there were none that I would probably want to purchase. Some were quite interesting, though.

I had a package delivered to me, actually handed to me as I heard the driver arrive. He noted on the photo's caption "handed to customer".
