  1. Thank you Spitfire for your thoughts. I forgot to mention that the coach is also lettered for the Western and Atlantic RR (in black strip below roof), they both run on 16.5mm track, code 100 surprisingly, and although I acquired them in the 1970s, I suspect they are much older. I was aware of W&ARR and The General and had wondered if the models had any link in with the 1956 Disney film.............. I'm sure in time someone will know.
  2. Hi I wonder if any members would be able to identify these two items of rolling stock? From what I remember, they were given to me around 1975. I don't remember any other wagons or locomotives, and they were in a similar condition to the photos when I got them. The coach has 'Made in Japan' underneath. The tender has no additional information. Wheels are plastic with horrible large flanges and oversize UK type couplings are moulded with the bogies. Thanks in advance.
  3. Hello, I am wondering if any members have experience using waterslide decals from www.trenmilitaria.com? If so, how are they compared to the US and UK aftermarket suppliers in regards to quality and when ordering online? Thank you.
  4. I've used a number of German ebay suppliers for model trains and have been impressed each time, but the comment above reminds me of something different............... I bought shock absorbers, brake disks and strut mounts form a German auto parts supplier (much better price and availability than the UK) and also received a small pack of Haribos. I can't wait for my car to need fixed again....
  5. Hi Nick, The wagons don't actually come with brackets, they have a rather unrealistic beam which the containers sit on. In reality, the wagons should have six hinged brackets on each side that hang down on the outside when a semi trailer is being carried and fold inboard when needed for container loading. I have considered spares for one of the other Roco intermodal wagons types but I don't think they would fit and I would be needing in excess of 100 brackets, hence my thought that there may be a small continental supplier that has offered some. This is the type of wagon I am meaning: http://www.roco.cc/responsebinary.asp?id=964910851229868 Thanks
  6. Hello, I wonder if anyone knows – if it exists – of a supplier for container brackets for the Roco Sdgkkms/Sdgmns743/Sdkms707 type type/Hupac intermodal wagons? I would like to replace the beams that are supplied with the wagons that come with either 20’ or 40’ containers rather than the semi-trailers. I would be planning on fixing the containers in place. Thank you.
