    Hi All,

Well it is nearly time for Weaver Hill to head out again. Another fairly local show at Shrewsbury this Saturday. We shall be setting the layout up tomorrow at the show and look forward to another day playing trains.

Another folly has been added to the layout now.

A little off the usual period but here are some photos of the latest addition with a Q6.

    (around the castle entrance)

    Have a Good show.

    Cheers,

And if they're that popular, the RHTT would be great to see shrunken to N! (Without sounding like a wishlist!)

I agree, an N gauge version would be excellent.

Also thinking about a O gauge version. Just imagine all that detail ???

Non-factual, surely?  As if Rapido, or any manufacturer would submit erroneous samples to a client on purpose.  Sorry, but that's a ridiculous statement.

    Not that ridiculous :

It is my understanding that this is not the first time that this livery has been subjected to errors.

They were meant to be delivered along with the EMT version at last year's Warley Show.

They failed to appear because of livery errors.

(Confirmed by a Rapido employee at Warley)

There have been further errors since then, leading to yet more delays.

Being reprinted as we speak, no delivery as yet.    Sorry but Rapido cocked it up not us.

I think at £230.00 it 'HAS' to be correct, we could not accept the errors on the samples!

I'm glad that on behalf of fellow modellers, you are "NOT PREPARED TO ACCEPT 2ND BEST" from Rapido Trains.

After the vast amount of time, effort, and money that you have obviously spent on research and development, it would be regarded as "a crime" if Rapido just feel that "2nd best" will do for us UK modellers, and that they can therefore try to ruin your reputation for Quality.

Rapido promise Quality, so that is what WE expect.

I’ve been using that excuse for years - the last ‘large box of cat food’ story wasn’t successful either lol! To be fair she’s pretty good about it - I think :mocking_mini:

If things go BAD, tell her that she can have HALF of the house, but it's STUCK to your HALF !!!

They look superb! Order placed at the weekend for a full set :mocking_mini:  How long does it take to ship them - so as I know how long I’ve got to make up an excuse for another large package arriving !!??

    Dave

Tell your "Good Lady" that you ordered and paid for them over 2 years ago, and that they have now finally been released.

She won't know any different !!!

This works for me, although I do know a good divorce lawyer if you need one !!!

    Lol

Enjoy your models when they arrive.

And I'm quite sure Hattons will be looking at this thread anyway..........

I wouldn't be surprised if Hattons are keeping quiet on purpose, until such time as they have fully identified and investigated as to how the problems are occurring in the first place, and with what regularity.

I'm sure they will come up with a solution that will keep us all happy, and maintain our trust in them and their New products.

    Hi Paul,

Allowing for some slack in couplings, 18 of them is around 2133mm.

    Hi Fran,

    Thanks for the swift reply.

At my age, it would have been better in feet & inches.

You youngsters have no consideration for the elderly !!!

    Lol

    Thanks again.

Two exhibitions in and the TEAs ran well (I had a minor derailing problem at Preston last weekend, but that was quickly traced to the loco coupling............

Not the sharpest vid - 11.25 in.

    Hi Mick,

The TEA'S are looking very good in the video, along with a variety of your other stock.

Nice to see a good sized rake of tankers moving at just the right speed.

Unfortunately, at present, I can only run a maximum of 3 on my "London Road" layout, that also features in the video, but i've got another 10 on order with Ben & Mike, just waiting for delivery, ready for when the layout gets extended, so that we can then "Trundle" a variety of full length trains through "Nottingham" at slow speed.

Good to see your layout running well again.

    Cheers

  10. Glad to see the swift progress you are making.

Keep up the Good work, and if you do hit a snag, think it through and remain positive.

It will be well worth it in the end !!!

Looking forward to seeing your progress.

    Best regards,

    Paul

£160 for a standard model is very good indeed, and £250 for a sound one as well - although a sound 92 would be equally archived by running the wife’s hover !

Do you mean "the wife's hoover" or does she also have to cut your grass with the "hover" mower ???

If she does both jobs for you, then  Sir, you have got a

"Good one" there, and it would be foolish of you to trade her in for a "Newer, super detailed model"

  12. Hi Mike & Ben

Congratulations to you both, on being voted the N gauge manufacturer of the year in the Model Railway Awards 2018

This is a fantastic achievement for you, and goes to show that the level of detail and professionalism that you apply to your projects, is obviously held in high esteem by the N gauge public.

(I know that many 4MM modellers also respect and admire your work as well)

In my opinion, an award, very well deserved !!!

    Thank you.

  13. The new 2019 announcements

32-486 Class 40 Split Headcode 40142 BR Blue
32-486SF Class 40 Split Headcode 40142 BR Blue – SOUND FITTED
32-487 Class 40 Disc Headcode D213 'Andania' BR Green (Small Yellow Panels) - As preserved
32-487SF Class 40 Disc Headcode D213 'Andania' BR Green (Small Yellow Panels) – As preserved SOUND FITTED
along with the 2018 range, not yet delivered
32-480 Class 40 Disc Headcode D248 BR Green no yellow panels
So since the 2014 re-tool, there will have been at least 9 releases, before we could conceivably in 2020 get a standard disc-headcode loco in BR Blue (unweathered), and in BR Green SYP. Considering almost 2/3rds of the class carried disc headcodes in both these liveries, I find this pretty disappointing.

We will have had though, 2 releases of GNYP disc headcode, and 2 BFYE split headcode (the latter representing only 10% of the class). Perhaps the wishlisting poll could be expanded to allow votes for these variations, I know the Bachmann class 47 buyers have similar frustrations.

    I Fully agree (Mr Stovepipe).

The class 40 looks so much better when wearing Disc headcodes.

I have mentioned before on this forum that my ultimate "wish list" would be to see Sutton Loco Works produce a class 40.

Although when I spoke to TMC, they mentioned that they have a class 40 from Bachmann in the pipeline, which will be in Blue, unweathered, and with discs.

    Let us pray !!!

  14. I don't think it's just the British models that delivery dates slip, most of the Canadian models just suffer the same problem. It's just the nature of the industry.

    Hi,

I get that delays can and do happen, irrespective of the model being produced.

I just wish that Rapido were a bit more "Up front" with us, instead of informing the model press about Warley availability, they could have told us that they were nowhere near being finished.

The majority of modellers understand that there can be delays.

Tell us the truth, and earn our respect by doing so.

    Cheers,

    Paul
