Hello all,
Anything over 2kg is sent with ParcelForce. Normally we receive an online notification that it has been sent and this enables us to send notifications to customers.
Over Xmas a number of parcels were left with the post office, but due to a mix up (possibly due to temporary staff working the Xmas rush) they were sent without that online notification being activated, so customers did not in turn receive their note.
We believe this has been sorted now.
We did send smaller packages in order of receipt and payment initially, but the 00 boxes are so much bigger than the N that for some larger orders - whether prepaid or not - we have had to source different boxes and this has taken time.
For future 00 models we are revisiting our dispatch process as, while we cope reasonably well with similar numbers of products in N, in 00 the sheer size makes the logistics considerably harder - probably commensurate with the factor of 8 difference in the volume of each model!
Cheers
Ben A.
Hi Ben,
With the quality that you and Mike are producing, I would say that :
You're "Gonna" need a Bigger Boat !!!
Cheers,
Paul.

No apology required Charlie.Sorry for this but it out of our control, all we get is all the flack! 'SORRY' Charlie
I think most of us realise that you and Arran have done all of the research & development for this fine model, as well as investing God knows how many thousands of pounds of your own money !!!
It doesn't seem right that once Rapido take control of the model, then the "False promises" start appearing from Rapido.
It would be nice if Rapido (Jason & Team) actually "owned up" to getting their schedules wrong and their reasons for this, instead of making numerous incorrect announcements about delivery dates for Warley.
As modellers we understand that delays can and do happen for various reasons, but why have Rapido gone shouting from "The Rooftops" about stock being available for Warley, and then they have disappeared into thin air, leaving you to take the "Flack" from customers.
They should be supporting you, and helping you manage their error !!!
Seems very unfair to me !!!

The website has sound options & Non Sound DCC options on there..
The units have been delayed 'Again' and the Chinese new year looms!! If all goes to plan the EMT ones are now March. Charlie
Let's Not Forget :
Why on Earth did Rapido go running around telling various model magazines that all variants would be available at Warley ???
False information from Rapido serves No useful purpose at all to anybody.
It only serves disappointment !!!

Everythings working very nice, and the sounds the most crisp and clear ive ever heard! but one problem, the decoder doesnt fit under the bodyshell!

Hi Graham,

Cheers.

Sometimes he pauses for breath !!!i Agree.. But we do love Goby charlie.. Funny watching him at shows..
Love you Charlie !!!!
A very knowledgeable man, and very trustworthy and helpful indeed.
I've never gone wrong when I have followed his advice.
Usual disclaimer etc.

That explains why ZIMO decoders appear to be cheaper than other makes.Jeremy at Digitrains is a reliable supplier of all types & makes of Digital, re the Zimo decoders, unlike ESU they do not come with speakers thus the list prices are lower.
Charlie
I didn't realise that a speaker wasn't provided, and that you had to purchase a speaker as well.
When I have studied the overall cost of the sound chip + active drive + speaker, it soon becomes apparent that this certainly Bumps up the price somewhat.

Very much looking forward to this article, about such an amazingly superdetailed and very realistic layout.
I'm sure the photographs will do it proud !!!
Cheers.

Hi,
Today I have purchased a set of the Hornby GWR HST power cars.
First time of dealing with Holt models of Swansea.
Guess what !!!
Great customer service, and he even tested them and sent me a video of them running.
How Good is that ??? and all of this came at an excellent price.
You can't ask for better than that.
Brilliant, and very grateful for this level of customer service.

Hi,
I fully understand the gentleman's frustration at receiving models with either missing or broken parts.
In my experience, The Hornby customer services dept have been second to none in the four times that I have dealt with them over the years.
Well worth contacting them, i'm sure they will help.

Hi,Hello, I seem to have misplaced the four body fixing screws while fitting DCC sound, what spec are the replacements and if you know where to get some that would be great, thanks.
I would imagine that the spares department at Bachmann would probably have some.
Give them a call. In my experience, they are very nice people to deal with.
Knowledgeable and helpful.
(Bachmann spares dept 01455 245575)
Hope you get sorted.

Hi Fran,Hi Paul,
6EF2D646-16B9-4659-B9F9-64ADE8DE7EE0.png
You’re looking at around 109mm (108.92 to be exact!) per wagon from buffer to buffer if that helps?
Cheers!
Fran
Perfect !!!
Thanks for the very quick response.
That information will certainly help.
I'm not sure if these wagons would have run through my layout of Nottingham Station, "London Road"
But, I'm sure that I could have a "Diversion" in progress !!!
Thank you again.
Cheers,
Paul

Hi,
Has anybody got any information regarding the length of these wagons.
Just wondering if I would get a rake of 18 wagons into the fiddle yard.
If not, I might have to build a New layout to accommodate them, they look that Good !!!
Thanks for any help forthcoming.

I like your thinking !!!A very laudable outlook, in tune with the time of year, but over 4/5 years you could date every one, form a short-list, rerun dates with those lucky ladies and finally decide on, say, half a dozen as your harem. Think big.
You say I ought to "Think Big", quite correct, but I feel that it's the Ladies who should be thinking Big !!!

One? Only ONE? What sort of man are you?
It's only right and proper that I share any Newly released models, with fellow modellers.
Lol

Wow, That's what you call "Modelling"
I don't mind waiting 4 or 5 years for one of those to come along !!!
(Lol)
Happy New Year to all us modellers.

Hi Ben & Mike
That's a Lot of progress, for two guys that also have Full time jobs.
Well done, and may the many modellers of the world continue to support you !!!
Thank you
Paul

It might help if you read Andy Y’s ultimate post on the topic above concerning Bachmann’s current production difficulties
Bachmann have a new PR man in place replacing Dennis Lovett. This forum has enjoyed good communication with Barwell over many years and I see no reason for this to change
A good Christmas for one and all.
To be fair, having met and spoken to Richard Proudman, I think that Bachmann have chosen a Good candidate to continue Dennis Lovetts hard work.
I'm sure that the lines of communication will be kept open to us all, as long as the bosses at Bachmann support Richard in his work.

Sandiacre was invited to the Folkestone model railway show and it was a great weekend.
Some more up to date stock was completed for the show.
It also highlighted the fact a second yard exit line was needed so this is next years job!
Also the fiddle yard has had LED lights added for ease of operation.
Cheers
Bob

I think that there is more chance of either Hattons or Rails entering the frame regarding a re-tooled 37 or 47, and of course, Realtrack could possibly spring a nice surprise.I have a sneaky suspicion that it won’t be Bachmann releasing a new 37/47 tooling.... if I was a betting man, i’d Have a punt on Rapido doing one or the other...
One never knows !!!
Cheers.

Hi Mick,H00A please...…
Subtle hint.
That is only a "small" subtle hint, for a wagon that could have "LARGE" appeal.
Here's hoping, or should it be :
here's hOOping !!!
Cheers.

Its looking like January deliveryy is creeping into February. SORRY. Charlie
What are Rapido playing at ???
Rapido told all the various model magazines that both livery versions would be available for purchase at this years Warley show.
Rapido make the announcement, but then leave it to the retailer to sort out the confusion and disappointment.
It seems that they have only produced the EMT "Nottingham to Skegness" version.
What have they done with all of the other varieties ???
Maybe I should go down to the beach and see if they have fallen off the boat, and washed up on the shore !!!
Lol

I’d like to see:
Cross country both 220/221 DCC ready with prototypical lighting with orange door lights.
FGW ‘local lines’ 158 & 150/2.
DB MXA wagon
Murco TEA tankers
IHA covered steel carrier wagon
Don't forget the East Midlands Trains 220/221 as well ???
NEW Class 156

They produce some very nice models indeed.
I just wish they would be a bit more honest with us, the "Great British public" and not publish incorrect information in all of our magazines, and then go very quiet on us, leaving others to face the "Flack"
Not a Good way of doing business !!!
Cheers,
Paul
