  1. Apologies if anyone takes offence at this but:

    Get a life - it's only a toy train.

If it takes a couple of weeks extra to arrive, does it really matter? No one will starve because of it.

At least something has turned up and is being delivered - unlike at least a few other items from a couple of manufacturers that I'm waiting for..............

BTW - they are worth the wait.

    Cheers,

    Mick

    Well said Mick.

When this subject comes up in conversation with fellow modellers,

    I have always said :

    I Like model trains,

    I Love model trains,

But I don't LIVE for model trains !!!

In my view, if the hobby becomes an obsession then it stops being a hobby !!!

I don't envy all that wrapping that Mike & Ben have got to do in order to satisfy our cravings.

It's Bad enough having to wrap up Christmas presents.

    Lol

  2. Yeah it is exactly the time it takes one of the people involved in the TEA project to get to finish their day job, get home, have a cup of tea and a bite to eat, open the computer, see who is next on the list, pick the correct wagons, pack them, get them in the post, add on the time it takes the courier to deliver them to you and that about covers it.

We are talking about 2 or 3 people trying to do this in their spare time, they aint got 300 people waiting to do all their packing for them so, as has been posted many many many times, they will get there when they get there, but they are slowly getting there!

IF you expect next day delivery then buy whatever is available from the box shifters who do have many employees doing the packing.

I am still waiting as well but I aint complaining about it every 5 minutes because I am a realist who understands what they are trying to do.

I'm still waiting as well, and I agree with EVERYTHING you have written.

Who knows, Mike & Ben might just manage to squeeze in enough time to go out and do a bit of Christmas shopping for their families as well.

    Lol

  3. Wonder how events in the market are effecting Charlies plans to do a locomotive next?

Now that class 66 is taken...and a Deltic too! What does that leave... 37? 47? Peak?

Knowing how Charlie, Arran & Bif are always in pursuit of "Perfection"

I would Love to see them produce an updated class 37,

    followed by a 47, 45 and 40 !!!

Now that little line up would be absolute heaven to a great many modellers/collectors.

  4. Hi all,

Bill, Gareth and I are all in the UK, but we're all in different cities! I think Gareth is in a swamp near Norfolk, Bill is still standing at the station at Bridgnorth wondering why no train has showed up all day, and I am in a very tiny hotel room at Heathrow. I can go from the bed to the desk to the bathroom without touching the carpet.

Bill and Gareth (and Terry and some more friends) will be at the Rapido stand all weekend. I will be in the stand occasionally on Sunday, in between various meetings. We've got a really tall stand this year so you should be able to find us.

I hope to see some of you there!

    Best regards,

    Jason

    Hi Jason,

Hope you have a Good exhibition at Warley with your "Mobile exhibition stand"

    Just wondering ???

Have you managed to bring any of the New Realtrack 156's into the country with you ???

Look forward to seeing you again at the show.

  5. Both DRS 37’s were running when on the Autoballasters in the vid. I will get a pair of Colas ones on a a test train next time.

Thanks Andy, Looking forward to seeing it.

You mentioned that you use Legomanbiffo's sound files.

Have you used the same sound file on all your 37's ??? or have you used a selection of their excellent range of 37 sounds ???

    Thanks

    Paul

  6. Pretty much all Legomanbiffo. The only exceptions are the Freightliner powerhaul 66 with a Zimo chip and WCRC 47 with Howes on a loksound 3.5 which I still like.

    Legomanbiffo sounds are:

    3 x 20

    1 x 31

    1 x 33

    5 x 37

    1 x 47

    1 x 56

    2 x 60

    1 x 66

    1 x 67

    2 x 68

    1 x 70

I think I have another 4 decoder I need to get re-blown at some point. Classes to be decided.

    Andy

    Thanks Andy for the reply.

That's a Good selection of sounds you have got there.

Would Love to hear all 5 of your

class 37's at work, at the same time.

Now that would be a good advert for DCC sound fitted Locos.

    Thanks again

    Paul

  7. HI All

The ONEs are due into me Tuesday so thats Not to bad with a 10 week turn around.

So they will be on sale at Warley

    Regards Arran

That's Good news and a very impressive turnaround time indeed.

Nice to see you getting in touch with your Feminine side Arran. Lol

  8. Excellent feature about this layout in this month's BRM magazine, which is spread over 8 pages !!!

A very informative write up about the layout, which is also backed up with high quality photographs, that really bring the layout to life.

  9. Similar hopes for the Derby based "Deadmans Lane"..................

    Cheers,

    Mick

    Hi Mick,

Hoping to get time during the show, to come across and have a good look at "Deadmans Lane" and it's multitude of colourful stock, including Derby bound 156's ???

    Cheers.

  10. Looking Good !!!

    Looking forward to these.

Hopefully our 3 EMT sets will arrive just in time for the BRM show in Doncaster in February, and will be seen running on our layout "London Road" which is based on Nottingham station.(Built by Simon Lawson)

Hope to see fellow "RM webbers" there.

  11. I was told today by a customer that he has read in a magazine that our Class 156s will be on sale at the NEC in 4 weeks time !!!!

Now, as we have been discussing this week modifications to the packaging I think it highly unlikely that within 3 weeks they will be arriving here.

But of course the man in the sky 'Could' look down on me and help solve this.

No one at RealTrack has told the magazines this 'Warley News' so god knows where that came from.

    Charlie

PPS You can order a N Gauge PCA Cement wagon though!!!!!!!

I have also read the very same information in this month's edition of Rail Express.

I can't understand why the magazine have published that the 156 will be available at Warley, when it appears that the guys who did all of the research and development, and later commissioned and marketed the model, (Realtrack) haven't even been informed of an exact delivery date of the models, and do not think they will be here in time for Warley.

This mis -information only leads to disappointment for the expectant modeller and unnecessary stress for the retailer.

(I might try ringing the Pope, to see if he can intervene) Lol

  12. If these are only painted samples, then I can't wait to see the finished article.

    As expected, very good indeed.

So glad that I pre-ordered my EMT sets, in advance, before they inevitably sell out.

  13. Only 30 plus shows a year !!!

All the mileage there and back, set up time and standing on your feet for 2 or 3 days, let alone the odd bit of talking !!!

You must be doing something RIGHT, if you are selling over 4000 sound Chips per year

Maybe it's the QUALITY of SOUND and range of speakers that you offer to the modeller, as well as the good old fashioned customer service that you provide.

    Usual disclaimers etc.
