  1. The EWS wagon looks good and I'm sure it will be a welcome addition to your layout. Lord & Butler's weathering is always applied to an exceptional standard. Cheers.
  2. I just hope that the new Oxford Mk3 coaches do indeed match the Hornby HST power cars, that would be great, as they are a very nice model. If this is not to be, then I further hope that Oxford do go on to produce power cars that match and are of equal,if not better quality than the Hornby version.
  3. What would you do if Oxford produced their own Power cars to match their own Mk3 coaches ??? Just an idea (Lol)
  4. The answer to the problem of split gears : Bachmann should ask Chris at CJM why his gears don't split. I have owned many of his Locos for over 15 years now, and guess what ? NO split gears !!! Bachmann, please learn the error of your ways and kindly Stop taking us for Fools.
  5. In a Perfect world, Realtrack would be the preferred choice of many,to produce the LONG awaited model of the 158,that Bachmann have been so reluctant to bring back to the UK market.Imagine the running qualities & level of detail. We can but DREAM.
  6. Excellent recreation of the real thing. Perseverance is the key. (Edited for punctuation and spelling) Seriously, a job Well done.
  7. Sorry !!! I should have typed COLAS instead of COLA'S. I'm not perfect, but then again I did spend 20 years working for Pepsi, perhaps that's why. Regards, Paul.
  8. With all of those Cola's Locos you have : To quote a famous actor, from a famous film "You are going to need a Bigger boat" Or should that be a Layout ??? Excellent stock of Locos. Will be following with interest. Best regards,Paul.
  9. Hi Andy, i've just discovered your thred as I'm fairly new to RM Web. Your work is of the utmost standard, and your eye for detail is remarkable. Well done. I will follow with great interest. Best regards,Paul.
  10. The inspection platform sure looks like a very intricate kit. Looking Good, even in it's primed state. How many components are there in the full kit ?
  11. Whilst testing my latest purchase on Simon's exquisite New layout today, a valuable lesson was learned : Do NOT try to operate a new loco, on a strange track that belongs to somebody else and continue talking at the same time, whilst also keeping your finger on the "increase speed" button. The result was far from "Perfect" and not very pleasant. #Must do better !!!
  12. Looking brilliant, even at the construction stage. Well done
  13. Excellent photos. When do we get to see a video of the whole layout in action ?
  14. Where is the Man with the Woman "Nagging" in his earhole ??? We've all been there !!!
  15. Charlie. Just a thought ??? What are the chances of 156 "Dummy sets" appearing at a later date. More Cash in your Till (Arkwright) to offset against overall production costs, and we modellers could then be able to run 4 car sets or could afford to have spare sets sat around in platforms, sidings or on shed.
  16. Just a thought ? If Bachmann (158) / Hornby (153) or Realtrack (156) were to produce "Dummy" sets, then surely everybody would be a winner. The modeller could run Double headers as per the real thing or afford to have a dummy sitting in a platform / fuelling point etc.The manufacturers would also benefit from increased revenue to offset against production costs.
  17. Looking Good Shaun. Another Masterpiece in the making !!!
  18. Sorry, I meant : too seriously
  19. I agree. It makes a huge difference to the "paying public", if the operators are approachable and are willing to share their knowledge. We all have to start somewhere !!! I once remember meeting the late & great Andy Calvert (Nether Stowey and Moorcock junction). What a Gentleman !!! He was helpful and shared his modelling skills with you, but most importantly he didn't "Talk down" to you because you were a Novice. You could also have a laugh with him as he didn't take himself too much seriously.
  20. That is awesome, fantastic detailing. Has it been Pat tested ?
  21. I've heard from someone that you have even made a model of an electric kettle, and that it is sitting proudly on the desk inside the portakabin. Any chance of a photo ?
  22. That's looks like just the "Perfect" layout. Railway modelling at it's very best. I wish I had a layout like that !!!
