  1. Hi, "Owd Bob" I think that you have done a very Good job there sir !!! Very realistic indeed. Regards, Paul
  2. Hi Grahame, You maybe right, but as more modellers are looking to fit sound into their Locos (in all gauges) it still seems very unfair on the retailers who will miss out on these bigger sales. Of course, the problem comes if Dapol install a sound chip that CAN'T be Re-blown to another manufacturers sounds. Then you really are STUCK with the sound you get from Dapol or other manufacturers. I still think it is a better idea to make your own choice regarding sound provider and speaker(s), especially when the cost is about the same difference, and at the same time you are still supporting the retailers. Best regards Paul
  3. Paul, I guess that Dapol are planning to sell their "Sound version" products direct to the modeller for one reason : To increase their profit margins !!! I hope I'm wrong. If this proves to be the case, then this seems to be very unfair on all of the retailers, (Big or small),as they are the Guys that have helped build Dapol's market share in the world of model railways, and have also dealt with some quality issues from Dapol. I understand your point about the N gauge R-t-r sound fitted locos being cheaper overall, but I doubt that Dapol are going to start to retail their sound fitted versions a lot cheaper. My personal opinion is that it makes NO sense at all to buy a "factory fitted sound" loco, and to then have to put up with the possibly inferior sounds or speakers that they provide. This could mean then having to pay out yet more money, on a "Re-blow" and/or a better speaker. I therefore believe it is a better solution, to support your retailer, and buy your DCC ready Loco from them. Then fit the sound chip and speaker(s) of your choice, the cost overall would be about the same. That way you have something that you can have a control over, and can therefore be pleased with the end result, instead of maybe having to put up with the manufacturers choice, which could have been chosen with a budget / profit in mind
  4. Both models look excellent, even in just bodyshell form. With that sort of standard, I,'ll bet they will sell out quite fast ???
  5. Pete, It is such a Good quality layout, I doubt they would have enough money in the bank, to be able to afford it !!! Lol
  6. Hi Matt, I have left you details in the Scale specific thread, of a you tube clip, showing the Cargowaggons running behind a Heljan 60. Search for Heljan O gauge EWS 60 and enjoy Cheers, Paul
  7. Hi Matt, There is a very good clip on you tube of the Cargowaggon running on an O gauge garden railway. Just type in Heljan O gauge EWS class 60 Hope this helps.
  8. This is an amazing example of DCC sound at it's very best. The combination of speakers that have been selected and installed, have produced a very realistic sound indeed, that also offers an amazing level of clarity as well. In my humble opinion, this combination is taking DCC sound to another level, and is a fine example of craftsmanship at it's best. Well done. Usual disclaimers etc.
  9. Welcome aboard Cheers, Paul
  10. Maybe in O gauge, they might turn their thoughts towards : A nice class 56, and a range of 44/45/46 Peaks could be tempting. That's my personal wishlist completed, although I do think that a O gauge model of a class 66 would be a sure fire winner for Heljan, unless Hattons beat them to it ???
  11. That's an impressive looking line-up. Did you tell the missus,it works out cheaper if you buy the full set,or was it a "buy 1 get 1 free" offer. Lol Could i please ask whose trackwork you are using ??? as i'm very New to the world of O gauge. Thank you.
  12. "Perfect" Delivery summary More in depth than we perhaps realise !!! Cheers, Paul
  13. TRUST is the key word Jonathan. I haven't had my 2 sets either, but I'm not worried. Give Ben and Mike a chance !!! They have already stated that they are working hard at weekends to post orders out to all of their loyal customers, and let's not forget that they also have full time jobs as well. Might be worthwhile you sending them an e-mail direct, because by posting on here, some may think that you are actually having a "swipe" at them in public. Hope you receive your set soon, and I'm sure you will be amazed by it. PS : Usual disclaimers etc.
  14. Ben, congratulations on your new position and I'm sure you will make a good impact. A class 56 & 66 would be excellent choices to show you mean business. (Lol) May the future be prosperous for your new employers and employees.
  15. Looking at your profile picture, I see a certain type of road vehicle. Are you planning to use this,to transport the layout to future exhibitions ? Lol On serious note, I am an avid Modern image modeller, but I show my full respect for such a wonderful and finely detailed layout. I hope you really enjoy your new purchase, and have hours of pure enjoyment from it. Best regards, Paul.
  16. Very informative indeed. Nostalgia at it's very best. Thanks for posting.
  17. Liking And Complementing !!! Outstanding modelling indeed. This layout is so well detailed, and it's not even finished yet !!! Can I please ask you, how did you make the curtains for your flats ? Thank you.
  18. The Good thing for us modellers/collectors is that these 2 guys are always looking to progress to the next level, with New and exciting projects in mind. They are also always willing to listen to the customers to gain valuable feedback, that certainly helps towards the future of their intended projects. Usual disclaimers etc.
  19. Hi, That's a very smart looking conversion. Did you convert it yourself or was it commissioned ??? Excellent photographs as usual. Cheers, Paul
  20. Arran, I belong to a 4 x 4 response group. If you needed a tow,so as to get your deliveries back on TRACK, then I'm available at anytime. But knowing you,you would probably end up CHARGING ME !!! Lol Cheers
  21. Andy Best to speak to the man himself about the stock scheduled / Deliveries from Rapido. Hope you get sorted with your ordered 156 Paul
  22. How far is it from Leeds to Melbourne ??? Give him a chance, although he might post it from Glasgow, whilst he is at the 3 day show ? Lol. Hope you enjoy it when you get it.
  23. I thought I had read somewhere on the class 156 thread, that Charlie had already mentioned that there were anticipated delays from Rapido, and that he was far from happy about this delay.
